The "Roost." A Large 2 Bedroom - Diner Themed Stay
Comfortable, well-appointed 2 Bedroom - Diner Themed home located close to Saratoga, Albany and the Adirondacks. Our space is a short drive to many historic sites, the Saratoga Racetrack, SPAC, Adirondack Mountains and Albany, which is the New York Sate capital. Perfect for the business traveler and adventurer alike. Space used to be a a full functioning diner called the "Ugly Rooster Cafe." Come stay with us in this awesome Diner Themed home!!!
Was supposed to have off street parkkng, however, there were multiple cars larked where there were knly supposed to be kne other beside mine. Had to park on the street.
The Roost is a very fun diner themed apartment which is located a convenient distance from Albany and Saratoga. It was clean and spacious. My only complaint was that the one bedroom has a double and twin beds not two double beds. We had plenty of space, but the beds werenât exactly as described. I would have loved a few notes on local restaurants, grocery stores etc - and some more detailed information about the space- but it didnât negatively impact our stay in any way- would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed the kitchy niche theme of the diner. We only needed an overnight stay; I donât think we would have stayed longer. It was nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable, although the main bedroomâs bed moved super easily with any movement of each person. Not great if sleep is an issue for you. I would have loved a bedside lamp, to not have to use the bright overhead light in the early a.m. There are plenty of windows, but they all have a public view (it fronts on a main road, onto the sidewalk), so it lacks privacy. It was nice and clean, which is so appreciated, yet the shower unit seams were dirty and moldy/mildewed. I think the cleaning supply & mop area being in the same large space as the bath lent to the slight, dank, mildew smell. Maybe building a closet for those tools with desiccating bags would help pull that moisture out of the shared space? We could clearly hear the neighbors talkingâjust something to know. Communication with the owner was not great, we had to figure out an issue on our own and didnât get a reply until we checked out. Overall a cool, brief, pleasant enough stay that few minor tweaks would significantly improve!
A little disappointed. The host did not send check-in or check-out instructions until I requested them 30 minutes before check-in time, and even then he didnât send them until 5 hours later. The bathroom was not properly cleanedâring in the toilet, hair around the sink, and grime all in the shower.
Spent a weekend at the Roost with family. We were a group of 4 adults and had plenty of room to unwind and relax after a day in Saratoga. The unit was charming and exactly as advertised. Kitchen was well stocked. Quiet and friendly community. Host responded promptly to communication. We had dinner at the End Zone and breakfast at the Ugly Rooster Cafe, both provided great food and service.
This apartment was adorable, clean, and communication with the owner was easy and efficient. We wish we wouldâve had more time to enjoy the space, but will definitely book again when traveling back to Saratoga Springs. 10/10.
Delightful space, but inconsiderate upstairs neighbors
I would have easily given this a 5-star rating based on the space itself. Extremely clean and comfortable with all the classic mementos of its space as a former diner.
Unfortunately, the occupants of the space above were walking loudly and thumping until just past midnight during our first two nights. It sounded as if they were moving furniture. The host wasn't responsive during the evenings so there was no recourse but to endure it.
Additionally, the space is on a street corner, and we were wakened early by trucks stopping and accelerating at the stoplight.
In short, a great place marred by outside elements.
On-site parking was full upon arrival, and there was a smoke detector going off in the basement, which was locked up/inaccessible to us.
Management had multiple different phone numbers, which we had to repeatedly call over the span of hours until they finally responded and sent someone at 9PM. My toddler hardly got any sleep.
Had a great weekend. This place was so freakin adorable. Was quiet and the location was close to everything but far enough away to be able to have some peace. Will be staying here again.
This was a super smooth experience. Professional at the same time personal. We asked where the toaster might be located. 1/2 hour later a wonderful lady knocked on the door and left a toaster. Priced fairly. Run professionally. I would have loved to stop by the owners Restaurant or Ice Cream Stand. May a little coupon next time to promote your other operations. We will RETURN!
My family of 4 (kids 4 and 2) enjoyed our stay at the Roost. Check-in and check-out was fine. Be aware you will be staying underneath tenants on the top floor. We didn't seem them at all, and they weren't loud, but they were there.
The place is cool though and was a great jumping off point for our upstate weekend.
This space is as noted and just a sweet spot! We appreciated the acoustic nature of the room as we played and recorded some music . Our main attraction was Hozier at SPAC and this was a great place to land after the show! Thank you helping with the chemical smell I do recommend unscented laundry soap and more natural cleaning projects!
Enjoy our fun play on this space being a previous cafe with your own coffee station and Diner Booth Seating! The home has 2 spacious bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other has a 2 full size beds. The sofa is a sleeper for additional guests. Washer and dryer included for your convenience. Free internet included in your stay. We ask that you do not smoke inside the apartment.
