Get ready to relax! Enjoy whitewater ocean views by day and a sky full of stars by night. Hear the sounds of birds, frogs, and crashing waves, and breathe in the crisp, clean air. This unique and tranquil getaway is handcrafted with art deco details and a round house design. The property is adjacent to the Jug Handle State Preserve with the beach and trails to enjoy, and there is easy access to Fort Bragg and Mendocino towns.

This ocean view 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home has hardwood floors, custom made tiles, handcrafted light fixtures, stained glass windows, and countertops made of butcher block, soapstone, and maple, walnut, and pecan woods. The updated kitchen is fully stocked and ready for you to cook to your heart’s content.

In the main living area you will find a wood-burning stove, a large flat-screen smart TV with access to a variety of viewing and listening apps, a telescope to zoom in on the natural surroundings, and a large, round table for dining and/or playing games! There are puzzles and a selection of board/card games for your enjoyment and Starlink wifi is accessible throughout the house.

Two bedrooms have queen-sized beds with plush carpets and attached bathrooms, while the third has two twin beds and beautiful hardwood floors, with the hall bathroom just steps away.

Great care has been taken to provide everything you may need for a peaceful, relaxing vacation. We hope you enjoy your stay!


Please note: pets are NOT allowed unless detailed discussion with host has taken place and a pet fee has been paid.

You will have access to the house, decks, and backyard. There are no other homes or cottages on this property so you will have it all to yourself!

The house is wheelchair accessible and there is a shower chair available for use if needed. The ramp leading to the front entryway/oculus is a little steeper than ADA guidelines and it may be difficult for one to navigate the incline with a manual wheelchair without support from another person in your party. If there are any questions we can answer about the accessibility of the house or if there is anything else we can do to support your access during your stay, please let us know.

Beautiful house with ocean views! With touches like stained glass windows and intricate tile work, the house is a work of art. So many amenities included with games, puzzles, a selection of teas, and a hammock. The hot tub was a great way to end the day. Amber is a fantastic host, very thoughtful and responsive. Amazing seaside place

Amber’s place is super cozy and beautiful. Very close to the pacific ocean - you can hear the sound of waves. The house was extremely clean and check in was smooth! Highly recommend this place

Wonderful weekend getaway

The house was beautiful and had gorgeous views of the ocean. The unique artistic touches throughout the house were a treat. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet and an easy drive to both Fort Bragg and Mendocino. We hope to come back and stay again!

This property gave us everything we were looking for. The location was perfect with so many trails and beaches to explore with just a short drive and the view of the ocean was beautiful. The house had everything we needed. Loved it!

Excellent Property!!

This property is without a doubt amazing. The host Amber has done an amazing job with upgrades and amenities throughout the property. The property is set up with everything needed for a relaxing stay from a few days or longer. Amber was very prompt with providing all the information and details with our stay. This is a wonderful property that is close to many of the attractions along the coastline. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Beautiful character property in Caspar

Our large has a tradition - a yearly trip to Mendocino for mushroom foraging. We have stayed at several properties in the area, all of them were rather nice. That said, Amber's property I Caspar stood out with its original architecture, and convenient layout. Amber's hosting was outstanding. We are hoping to come back next year!

Everything was great. Best communication of any of the many homes we’ve stayed at in Mendo. Very nice. Home was comfortable. Updated bathrooms were fantastic. Lovely artistic touches all around. Unique home in a great location

Loved everything about our stay there. The house is well appointed and full of whimsical touches. We enjoyed the views of the ocean and lots of wildlife around while we were there. Being able to walk to Jughandle Preserve was great, and easy access to activities in and around Mendocino and Ft Bragg. Amber was an excellent host, checking in with us and offering lots of great suggestions on what to explore in the area.

Great location between Mendocino and Fort Bragg

The property is located close to all the fun spots in the area. Amber, our host was a touch of class! Very accommodating, easy to communicate with, and provided resources to make it a fun stay. The property is very clean and roomy with an inviting decor, and well stocked with several amenities. The kids enjoyed the hot tub, and the welcome package was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely stay there again.

Wonderful 3 day family getaway

We were very happy staying at this house. It was clean, comfortable and we loved how it was decorated. Beds were comfy. It was raining so we took advantage of wood burning stove and all amenities. The hot tub was clean and nice to enjoy after our hikes. The location was perfect, right in between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We liked the privacy and views of the ocean from the house. Amber was responsive, she thought of everything. There is a guest book with all the information you need. The bottle of wine was a nice touch you don’t see as much anymore. We would definitely like to return.

Incredible Getaway!

My family and I had an amazing experience at Amber’s house in Caspar. The pictures do not begin to give this house justice. The care and details in every room are absolutely exquisite. The house was spotless and had every amenity we could possibly want. We loved watching the wildlife, sunsets over the ocean, and relaxing in the hot tub. I wish we could have stayed longer. This is our new go to place to stay in Mendocino!

What a fantastic little gym nestled right in between Mendocino and Fort Bragg fully stocked, the attention to detail is amazing. The lights are stunning. The craftsmanship Is awesome from heated bathroom floors, Beautiful doors. Stained glass and all the little intricacies are a joy. Communication with Amber the host was the best We've ever had. Highly recommended.

This place is awesome. A random choice for our first visit. We will definitely stay here again. Very secluded and peaceful. A short walk to a beautiful cliff view of the crashing ocean waves. A warm welcome with a nice bottle of wine and chocolates. Very clean and well taken care of. Many examples of beautiful local artwork in the lighting, stained glass windows and tile work. Lots of attention to detail. The cozy wood stove was ready to lite. The beds are very comfortable and the radiant heat in the bathroom floors were a welcome added comfort. The weber charcoal BBQ comes with all of the utensils you need for a relaxing meal in. Definitely a unique residence

Family vacation/summer road trip

Amber is a fantastic host and her Casper home is absolutely delightful. Hands down it was the cleanest rental property we have ever stayed in. Amber was super easy to communicate with and the check-in/check out process was super easy. The house is well stocked with all the essential stuff anyone needs to enjoy their stay. The house layout is very inviting, the beds were super comfortable and the ocean view was fantastic. Super easy walk to the Jug Handle State Natural Reserve that offers great hiking and a lovely semi private beach. Ohh, and let’s not forget about the abundance of deer, bunnies, squirrels and birds flying, hopping and prancing around the area. It truly is a wonderful place and you won’t regret renting Amber’s Casper Rental House. We are already planning our next visit. Thank you!

Great little getaway

Amber is a wonderful host, she answered all my questions quickly and gave us some pointers on where to eat and play. It was my husband, my teen daughter and one of her friends out for a little birthday/vacation. It is a very unique style of house and I loved that all the doors were different in an stylish way. The house was clean, the beds and furniture were comfortable, love the showers, and it had a nice little view of the ocean. It also, had plenty of board/card games to fill our nights. The hot tub was small but fit the girls and I perfectly. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, sweets, and a handbook that was most helpful. We chose all of our eating and activities from her list and we were not disappointed!!

Wouldn’t Change a Thing !

It seemed that Amber anticipated everything a guest would need. At every turn we lacked nothing. Here is a list of what was a favorite detail from each family member of our group: 1. Bed..”because I sank into the mattress and fell into the most dreamy sleep experience of my life.” 2. Cookbook..”because it matched the kitchen and made cooking easy and fun at the same time. Also, the kitchen is well supplied with the right tools. 3. Stained Glass Windows.. “because they illuminated the rooms with a plethora of colorful hues.” 4.Hot Tub.. “because it was easy to use and had flowers all around; you got to be warm and see the stars at night.” 5. Deck with Ocean View and Sounds.. “because it was a good place to sit and have coffee in the morning and a drink in the evening while watching deer, a fox, and birds. And to listen to the waves.” 6. Tile.. “because the bathroom floors are heated, and the tiles on the wall were decorative and gave the home a vintage, artsy, craftsman feel.” We got a little carried away, perhaps, in our review, but our vacation here brought out a happiness that can easily be found in Northern Cali. Oh and it was very clean, the location is quiet yet nestled in between two small towns, and you can walk to the preserve where you can take steps down to a quiet beach. Thanks for such a great stay!!

I was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and am now fortunate to raise my own children in the house I grew up in. We enjoy getting out into nature, exploring new areas, and returning to places we love.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I grew up visiting Mendocino frequently with my family and have always felt an incredible pull towards the California coastline. We sold our home and started searching for a house along the coast. When this one came along, I didn't waste a moment getting the offer in. I knew it was the one for us! It is so wonderful to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban life - as soon as we round first bend on Highway 1 after leaving Highway 128, I breathe a sigh of relief and joy when I see the ocean and know that we are so close to this house!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

When I first visited this house, I fell in love with the art deco details, the woodwork, the stained glass, the crisp ocean air and the sound of the waves, the open living area, and the beautiful tile work throughout the house. I also loved that the house design included a ramp that I would be able to push my son's wheelchair up and down for easy access. There are so many reasons why this house was and is the one!
