Tranquility in the country! Sleeps up to 4, fully supplied kitchen, electric heat, A/C, 30+ miles north of Pittsburgh. Note: Two horses sometimes stay in stalls in the lower level. We are used to horses and 90% of our guests love having them nearby. We have isolated the basement from the living area using insulation and plastic sheeting. However, if you have horse-hair allergies or are very sensitive to farm odors, you may wish to stay elsewhere. Barbara
Absolutely gorgeous retreat. Les and Barbara are amazing! This place was the perfect place to relax and enjoy family time. There is so much to do on the property and in the surrounding town too. We loved our stay and canât wait to go back!
The property is lovely, and the cottage is a great retreat. I wouldnât recommend coming when itâs hot, though (e.g., August) as there isnât any central air, and there wasnât enough air flow to cool the downstairs bedroom. There is a large window unit in the living room, but it wasnât big enough to reach the bedroom.
Peace of the Lord-that is what is available as you relax on the deck, down at the lake or in the woods. I watched my son and grandson bond as electronics were limited. This was the BEST Christmas gift from my son. The place was cozy and clean.
Lovely, peaceful and relaxing. Nature abounds! During our brief overnight stay, we saw deer, osprey, heron, an owl, grand-daddy bullfrogs, fish jumping in the lake, a pair of swans with their newly hatched cygnets, and of course, Midnight, the beautiful horse whose paddocks lie beneath and adjacent to the cottage.
The property was beautiful! Very peaceful and relaxing. My daughter and I like to take a long weekend together and this was exactly what we like. Stay at a quiet place and check some things out around the area. It was perfect
We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage! The lake access was absolutely perfect for kayaking and swimming â peaceful, scenic, and just steps away from the house. One of the highlights was spending time with the sweet horse on the property; such a unique and special touch that made our trip even more memorable. We also loved relaxing on the deck in the evenings, enjoying the quiet surroundings and beautiful views. The garage was a great bonus for storing our gear and keeping things organized. Everything was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend this spot for a peaceful getaway with nature right at your doorstep! The owners were timely in responding with any questions or concerns I had. They are located right on the property and were warm and friendly.
This VRBO is okay, but not great. And location is kind of neat with a pond and pasture. However the vrbo itself has some issues, the whole place smelled like animal urine and the shower was pretty moldy. Its fairly dated, but inknew that from the photos, I just expected a bit more cleanliness. Also the locks on the doors are hilariously weak.
So relaxing here, just listen to the horses and the birds and you will feel any stress melt away. I loved walking trail around lake and looking at swans on the lakes. Nice area for fall festivals.
Lovely owners and property. Invited us to visit with the horses. Granddaughter loved petting the horse! Conveniently located for visiting with family. Many great restaurants a short ride away.
I came in early for my nieces wedding to relax. This property was breathtaking. Absolutely peaceful. The hosts greeted me and were very welcoming and so super sweet. Highly recommend and Iâm planning a return trip.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful space with others. It truly is a gift.
This cottage is lovely, quiet, and oh so comfy. The farm surroundings are peaceful, relaxing, and inviting. Les and Barbara are great hosts, who made us feel welcome right from our first meeting. The small town of Harmony, with its restaurants, shops, and museum are close by. I highly recommend this property and would love to return!
They gave us a great tour and place had everything we needed. The only problem was it smelled like sewage inside the house. Maybe it was just the horses. Otherwise, everything was fine.
This property is by far the nicest place I have ever stayed. The lake, the birds, the horses, the wooded scenery, the swans and the calmness. Not to mention the gracious and lovely hosts. We came to go fishing and kayaking on Lake Arthur but realized that we could have just stayed put and hung out on the back deck. Do yourself a favor and book this place. You won't regret it. Thanks Les and Barbara!
We'll be back. Give Midnight and Raven a pat from us.
Check-in was a cinch! I called the phone # I was given 15 minutes before I arrived and our hostâs husband met me with a great welcome. I was meeting a friend for the weekend after 23 years and this quiet, secluded home was perfect.
The view from the deck, where we ate our dinner the first night, was amazing!
It rained the next morning and unfortunately, because the TV was an older model, with the bad weather we lost signal. An upgrade to a Smart TV would be nice so we could have signed into Netflix or YouTube to enjoy a favorite movie.
Out of the 2 bedrooms, the Queen size bed in the ground floor bedroom was much more comfortable than the two twins in the loft. That being said, I slept great on one of the twin beds.
We forgot a corkscrew for the bottle of wine we had and before we knew it, Barbra, our host had gone out and gotten one for us!!!
We both enjoyed our visit very much and our hosts were very easy to contact if we had a
question. It has a full kitchen which was nice. Barbra also put together a booklet with local restaurants and attractions which was very nice to have.
I would definitely recommend this location as a getaway or a place to land after a day on a multitude of different trails to choose from.
The cottage and property are peaceful and comforting. We had a short stay while we explored the nearby parks. It was so nice to have a private, clean & comfortable place to relax and get a good night sleep.
