The Space

Ruidoso Valley Getaway is a private 38-acre ranch with six small guest rentals spread across the property.

Welcome to Forest Glamping at Ruidoso Valley Getaway. This cozy glamping trailer sits on a quiet 38-acre ranch in historic Glencoe, just 9 miles east of Ruidoso Downs on US-70. Guests come here to relax under big New Mexico skies, enjoy campfires, explore walking trails, and experience the peaceful countryside while still being close to Ruidoso.

The property borders Lincoln National Forest, offering easy access to hiking and mountain scenery while returning to a quiet rural retreat each evening.

You’ll likely see our friendly ranch dogs making their rounds and chickens wandering the pasture. Many guests spend their evenings outside enjoying the fresh mountain air, watching sunsets, and stargazing under some of the darkest skies in the Ruidoso Valley.

The Trailer

Forest Glamping includes an RV queen bedroom with privacy curtains for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Additional sleeping options include:

a fold-down dining table that converts into a twin bed


The bathroom includes a shower (no tub).

Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped for simple meals and camp cooking.

oven and three stovetop burners

coffee percolator (Folgers coffee provided)

Cooking oil, salt, and pepper are also provided.

Property Notes

The property is fully fenced with 7-foot elk fencing and gated with two controlled entrances. Exterior security cameras monitor gates, roads, parking areas, and common outdoor spaces. There are no cameras inside any rental.

The host lives on the property and actively maintains the ranch.

This rental is intended for guests seeking a peaceful rural getaway rather than a nightlife destination. A 10pm quiet curfew is observed to maintain the relaxing environment for all guests.

Parking accommodates two vehicles at the rental, with additional space available for trailers.

Alcohol is permitted. Outdoor 420 use is permitted in accordance with New Mexico law.

House Rules

**Damage Policy**
Guest and any non-booking (unregistered) occupants are responsible for all damage, theft, missing items, and excessive cleaning. Guest agrees to pay all verified costs submitted through VRBO, including repair, replacement, or lost revenue.


This is not a typical VRBO. Guests choose this property for nature, quiet, and outdoor activities—not for partying.


1. Booking Eligibility

No third-party bookings. The booking account holder must be present for the entire stay.

Reviewed guests only.

Guests with negative reviews will be declined.

This property may not be used for workforce housing, crew lodging, contractor overflow, or any business-related group accommodation.

No work crews of any size or type are permitted, even if the booking guest is present.

Guests with no reviews must inquire and receive approval before requesting to book.

Guests with no reviews may be accepted after completing a short pre-booking confirmation.


2. Check-In Policy

Latest check-in time is 8:00 PM.

If you cannot arrive by 8:00 PM, please request approval before booking.


3. Party & Behavior Policy

This is a strictly non-party property.

The following are not permitted:

Parties or gatherings

Loud or disruptive behavior

Excessive intoxication


Guests returning late from town in a disruptive condition may be removed.

4. Pet & Animal Policy

This property is not pet-friendly.

No animals of any kind are permitted on the property or inside the rentals.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Dogs

Cats

Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)

Therapy or comfort animals

Companion animals

A working pack of 5 dogs roam this property for predator control. Bringing any kind or type of pet or service pet on this property creates an unsafe condition for the dogs, the pets, the host and the guest. You must disclose pets before booking this rental.

Undisclosed animals will result in denied entry and cancellation without refund.

Bringing a pet onto the property will result in immediate cancellation.

Guests who attempt to misrepresent pets as service animals may be reported to VRBO & local police in accordance with platform policy and applicable New Mexico law.

Trained pasture dogs are present on the property for predator control.

5. Marijuana & Smoking Policy

Outdoor 420 use is permitted in compliance with New Mexico law.

No indoor smoking of any kind.

Indoor smoking will result in a $500 cleaning and fumigation fee.

6. Location & Noise Awareness

Located approximately 9 miles east of Ruidoso Downs in Glencoe, NM, off US-70.

Approximately 700 feet from the highway; some highway noise may be heard.

7. Property Description & Shared Amenities

Private, gated 38-acre rural property with 7 glamping rentals and the host’s residence.

Shared amenities include cabana, gazebos, outdoor restroom, laundry, golf areas, and walking trails.

Access to Lincoln National Forest wilderness is available for foot traffic only.

8. Surveillance Disclosure

There are no cameras or noise monitors inside any rental.

9. Vehicles & Recreation

No ATVs, dirt bikes, or recreational vehicles.

Bicycles and e-bikes are permitted.

10. Wildlife & Safety

This property adjoins Lincoln National Forest.

Wildlife such as rattlesnakes, raccoons, skunks, foxes, and insects may be present.

This is an active rural ranch property. Conditions may include uneven ground, natural terrain, wildlife, insects, livestock, working animals, farm equipment, limited lighting, and environmental conditions typical of a countryside setting.

The immediate rental area is defined as approximately 30 feet from the lodging structure. Areas beyond this boundary are not part of the rental premises and are entered at the guest’s own risk.

A deep ravine runs through the property. Guests are not permitted in or within 20 feet of the ravine.

Ponds, bridges, and restricted areas are not designated for swimming or recreational use unless specifically stated.

Children under 18 must be supervised at all times while outdoors.

Guests may not wander the property after dark except within the immediate rental area. A flashlight or headlamp must be used when outdoors at night.

Do not leave food or trash outdoors.

Wildlife & Predator Control

This is a rural ranch property adjoining forest habitat. Predators such as foxes, coyotes, bobcats, and other wild animals may occasionally enter the property, most often at night.

The host maintains free-range chickens and a working dog pack. When a predator presents an immediate threat, lawful action may be taken to protect animals and safety.

Guests must not interfere with wildlife or predator activity.

By booking, guests acknowledge and accept the realities of staying on an active rural property.

11. Host’s Dogs

Friendly pasture dogs patrol the property.

Do not feed the dogs.

Do not allow them inside rentals.

12. Cooking & Food Rules

No cooking fish indoors.

No cleaning fish anywhere on the property.

Always use the stove exhaust fan when cooking indoors.

No food or drinks on furniture or beds.

Dishes must be washed; host will put them away.


13. Laundry

Washer and dryer are located at the outdoor restroom.

Shared with other guests.

$3 per load.

14. Fire & Campfire Rules

Campfires allowed only in designated areas and when legally permitted.

Notify host by 6:00 PM before starting a fire.

A water source and shovel must be present.

Fires must be fully extinguished before leaving.

15. Cleanliness & Litter Policy

No littering, including cigarette butts or small debris.

Trash cans are provided throughout the property.
