Steps away from all the fun & festivities in downtown Lafayette! This house built in the 1890's is a glimmer of the past with an modern and grand feel. Amenities include a fully furnished kitchen with kitchenware, wireless internet, clock radio sound machines, hair dyer, ironing board & iron, television, and toiletries. Just bring your clothes and your sense of adventure because everything else is provided!
Host double booked and we got bumped day of check in. They were able to offer a one bed one bath backup but a far cry from what we booked and paid in full a year in advance. Thankful for backup but disappointing and helpless feeling when half your party has to cancel travel plans the day of departure for lack of beds.
We all enjoyed our stay in this wonderfully appointed house with large rooms and ample space so we could gather together or hang to our selves, depending on our mood and time of day. Conveniently located so we could walk or have just a short drive to wherever we wanted to go. We will be back!
Great location. Close to downtown. A cute little bar a block away. A few blocks from the last Bordon's Ice Cream Shop in the US. It was bigger then we expected.
As title says - show up day of check in.. code sent does not open the lock. Called the owner who then had the manager call me back. Was told their booking system does not integrate with VRBO listing. The property was fully booked so they could not Honor the listing. I was told by the manager I would get a full refund and she could cancel the stay. Weekend went by and the listing was never cancelled so I texted/then spoke to owner on Monday. Was told he would fully refund me that night. Days pasted so I contacted VRBO support and was told I was not entitled to any refunds. Owner has since not responded to text or calls. I had to open a dispute with my credit card company. Do not book this listing or stay at this property.
Location was perfect for us. Scratch Kitchen next door had great breakfast and lunch, but will soon be relocating to a larger facility. Fun bar a block away. Shopping area within walking distance. Bedrooms and kitchen were nice. No living area. Note, you are renting only the second floor which is accessed by a very steep exterior metal stairs. Difficult to carry luggage. Would not work for anyone with mobility issues.
Originally from India, I came to Lafayette to pursue my masters degree at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I believe that these historic house are a part of our culture and it is our moral responsibility to preserve them for generations to come. The only way I think we can keep these house intact is to run a sustainable business out of them. This si for me one way to give back to the community which provided everything to me.Though I am not originally from Lafayette, Cajun culture has become second nature to me. Iâd be happy to help you with suggestions for local places to visit, restaurants, dance halls, and historic sites.
Esprit de Coeur is conveniently located in the heart of downtown right behind the Festival International Main stage. It walking distance from several downtown restaurants, clubs, museums and other touristic attractions
