Small clean and quiet 2 bedroom 2 bath house on a hill within walking distance to the beach. There is a small porch overlooking the street, a large TV w/ streaming, comfortable beds, grill, beach chairs, linens, towels, and new appliances. All within a half mile of the pier.
Great location - very short walk to the beach, plenty of natural light - and beautiful artwork and houseplants decorate the space. Perfect for our short Thanksgiving âgetawayâ - had everything we needed - would definitely stay here again!
For a smaller house, it met all our needs. We stayed busy every day sightseeing and came back to sleep. Beds were comfortable and we rested well. The upstairs bathroom was small but it took care of our needs. The area was very quaint and close to the beach which was beautiful in the early morning and before sunset. We had a pleasant stay.
Nice cottage, a bit on the funky side but pleasant. 2 blocks from the beach. Could definitely use a new couch, fix the front door, and better bedside lighting. Note that the damage deposit was 1500 which was actually charged to my credit card before we arrived and I didnât get the money back for more than 2 weeks later. A nice float for someone but I had to cover it because of my cards billing cycle. VRBO says this is their policy. Seems wrong to me. Anyway, a nice place.
This is a quaint, cost-effective 2 BR property that is walking distance to the beach, decent food options and conveniently located to explore the surrounding area including Portland up to Boothbay Harbor, or down to Kennebunkport. If you have issues w/ stairs, this might not be the place for you (we were fine). The owner was very nice and helpful.
The house was all the good things I read about but we had to leave after 2 nights. On our third day while making coffee and toast at the same time, the fuses were blown & we learned the electrical panel needed to be updated. We couldnât get the electricity back & with much warmer temps coming & no AC, we opted to leave. The owner refunded our money for the days we were going to miss which was exactly what she needed to do. She apologized for the trouble via text. We had spoken several times on the phone prior to this happening & I thought it wouldâve been nice if she called me to discuss it but she did not. We spent half the day packing everything back up & etc then of course it took time to find a new place that fit our budget so I feel like we lost a whole day by the time we found a new place & unpacked etc. This was only my 2nd experience using VRBO, & the first one interestingly enough there were plumbing issues & they needed to bring in a plumber to fix it, so just bad luck?? Or are properties not being accurately represented. If the price seems reasonable or a good deal maybe things are not up to snuff???
Jan was wonderful to deal with. We were here for a memorial service for my mom who passed last year and this was my first time staying outside of my mothers home. This house was perfect. Thank you!!
We really enjoyed staying at Jan's place! She was a great host, with a place that we enjoyed being at. It wasn't far from the beach either! We'd definitely stay there again!
Cute house at 3 minutes from the beach. All was fine the thing I will say is the tap water smelling bad so we use bottled water and with the feeling to live at someoneâs place. (Used sponge and open food in the fridge)
As of right now without full access to my account my only issues with my stay remains Vrbo appâs issues and lack of customer service available. The host and the stay itself could not have been more lovely! Highly recommended locale!
The house was exactly as listed, perfect for 5 adults. We could easily walk anywhere- beaches, reataurants, etc. Could use some darkening curtains as a few outside lights shine right into a couple windows at night but otherwise this house was great. Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My father is 73 and the stairs were no
Issue for him, just mentioning this as others had brought it up. Thanks for letting us use your home!
My name is Jan. I own and live in the house. I am working in North Carolina currently so I have opened my house to share as a rental. I ask all that come to stay to take care of the house as it has my personal things in it.
