Thereâs a toaster, coffee machine., dishes, and mini fridge. Apartment is not child proofed but ok for older kids.
This was an awesome location, super close to town so itâs easy to walk to all the restaurants/shops/local beaches. The host had great communication and the place was clean and comfortable.
This is a nice place for two people walking distance to Scituate Harbor in a residential area. It is a private apartment in a house. The host Lance was extremely receptive and helpful.
Lance was there to greet us and made us welcome - thankyou, Lance! We were a short drive from those we had come to visit, so in all, it was a very good choice.
We had a great stay! Lance was a friendly, hospitable guy. He welcomed us, got us settled, had a bottle of water on each nightstand, and drinks in the mini fridge. Very thoughtful. The space was very clean and in a great location so we could walk to town.
We wanted a place to call home and to be able to explore the south shore. This property was nestled in a cute neighbourhood in the most magnificent town of Scituate. Walking distance to shops, restaurants & beaches. Lance was a helpful host ensuring all of our needs were met for a comfortable stay.
I was not aware that our rental was going to be shared with the owner. Although he was very nice, and gave us privacy, it was awkward.
Suggestions for the downstairs rental space...a microwave since there is no kitchen .
The place is nice, clean, and in a good location. However, it's slightly misleading that you are in fact staying in the basement of the owner's home. Pretty small, no kitchen. Also, it says it sleeps 4 but it really sleeps 3 (2 people in the bed and 1 person on the twin futon). The fourth person will have to sleep on a cot that's available. All-in-all, it worked out fine and would be a great spot for 2-3 people to stay and explore Scituate.
This in the basement of the owners home with shared entry. I had trouble with the keypad access and texted and called the owner with no response. I waited a few minutes and knocked. Fortunately the owner was home and let me in and showed me how the keypad worked. Ok for a night or two but no way to prepare food. The only kitchen supplies are a mini fridge, coffee maker (with coffee), a jug of water, and a toaster. Not even a microwave. The only water source is the bathroom. The photos in the listing may suggest walking distance to a scenic waterfront but this is not the case. Otherwise the property was very clean and nicely decorated. I would not spend more than 2 nights here due to limited amenities.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Not a private entrance and lots of critters in the unit
The biggest issue is that the unit is basically a finished basement with door on it. You walk into the owner's home to go down the stairs and enter. As in, you fully see kitchen/LR, etc. Luckily the owner was away that weekend, but it would have been very awkward otherwise. You can only lock the door from the inside. If the owner was there, I wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving my teenage daughter there alone at all to do any errands or anything. Basement was full of spiders and other crawly things that we had to keep squishing. Very disappointed with the set up. The lack of privacy should have been disclosed more clearly in the listing.
Former entrepreneur and enterprise sales exec. Now, in the summer a part time historic and cultural guide of New England. In the winter mostly like to spend my time exploring the world.
We chose this neighborhood as its close to everything Scituate has to offer a multitude of beaches, restaurant/sports bars, boating/fishing, music venues and much more.
