Marie, your review reduced me to tears. You shared no concerns during your stay, told me how beautiful the cottage was, and even asked to extend your visit. I ran around making sure I provided everything you requested in advance of your stay — an iron, hair dryer, Keurig instead of drip, 100 percent cotton sheets, and memory foam pillows --I would have granted your request to extend your stay if another guest hadn’t been arriving directly after you. I’m sorry we couldn’t offer a tour before your arrival, as it would have disrupted other guests and would invade their privacy. The “weeds” you mention are actually wildflowers that bloom toward the end of summer in a beautiful display of pinks, purples and white flowers. It's like a firework display of beautiful colors! Your review was a shock to my system — completely unexpected based on our correspondence and communication. It feels less like feedback and more like you wanted to stage a retaliatory attack similar to another disgruntled guest from June. Im sorry you felt the need to lash out in this way. Lake living isn’t for everyone, but for many, it’s a peaceful and cherished escape. We wish you well.

Thank you for your review. You were kindly offered an early check-in the day before your reservation since the home was vacant. Our standard check-in is 3 p.m., but I had the property ready by 10 a.m. You asked about laundry detergent in advance, and I informed you none was provided. You also requested an iron, which we don’t supply, as it’s unusual for a lake rental. You reported the TV and remote weren’t working upon arrival but used the provided instructions to operate them. Similarly, the barbecue was initially said not to work, but you managed it after following directions. My husband was finishing deck maintenance at your arrival and offered to check the water filter. When water pressure dropped, he was already on his way to fix it, so I didn’t send another message. Our cleaning crew maintains the house, and any issues would be addressed promptly if reported. The ping-pong table and paddles are extras for rainy days, not part of the rental. Paddles were replaced. Fans are in every room; one had a missing button, now fixed. The loft is a fully functional sleeping area accessed by ladder, as shown in photos. The house has no central air or window AC units due to awning windows, which is not advertised. Upstate NY’s heavy rain has impacted landscaping, but we maintain grounds as possible. There is no back deck—only a screened porch and small decorative balcony. We appreciate all feedback and wish you the best in your future travels.
