We had a lovely long weekend here. The internet supported 8 people working from home Friday. Cabin was charming and views of the fall leaves, bay, and stars at night were unmatched.
Superb getaway home overlooking the bay. Quiet, pet-friendly, and great accommodations from the well-appointed bedrooms to the lovely kitchen. The host provided a historical perspective of the property lending charm and appreciation to the home's evolution.
The view! Upper and lower decks have stunning Lake Michigan views. Enjoyed flocks of cormorants, gulls and awesome sunsets. Night sky is full of stars. House was clean and comfortable. Modern appliances and smart TV. Quiet location with pleasant 1 mile walk to cute shops, nice restaurant, fish market and museum.
The pictures on the website do not do this house justice! Our entire family loved every part of the property. Sitting on the deck watching the pelicans and loons âfishingâ rejuvenated me and my husband. I cannot recommend the home enough! The only thing I would recommend is getting some new foam mattresses. The beds were a little stiff.
Fun and historically charming place to stay. So much to do close by! Owner very helpful and responsive. The only confusing thing is the address, you just have to find On the Rocks Road that comes off of Wisconsin Bay Road near where navigation lands you. Charlieâs Smokehouse and the maritime museums are a must!
House is very unique. We loved everything about it! Plenty of room for all of us to stay and play! Amazing view from the decks and top bedroom.
Check in and out process was easy. Owner was fast to respond with all my questions. Wpuld definitely be back! Thanks for the memories!
We were in Door County for the Fall 50 relay with friends. This property was a perfect getaway and allowed us to enjoy the fantastic views and get some needed relaxation. The house was perfect, the views were amazing, and Michael was very responsive and accommodating!
We booked this home after having devastating losses this year. All we wanted was a place to disconnect from everything around us and THIS IS that place.
We contacted the owner twice during our visit (we got lost of course because that's what I do) and he was truly a gem. He was incredibly responsive (even taking our while at a wedding).
Everything about the property was stunning. When we entered the home, there was a guest book to our right. We enjoyed reading everyone's comments - so to those who have stayed - thank you! You gave us hints of the amazing adventure of which we were about to embark.
The mink got so close to use that we went inside for a quick second, only to watch Mr. Mink stop almost in front of us as if to say "Thank you."
The house itself is stunning in its elegance and uniqueness. Whether you are playing pool in the lower level, or eating dinner in the main level, the one thing you take with you is that breathtaking view of the bay.
The Horizon room - at the peak of the A-Frame facing the bay - is something you can only dream of having every day for the rest of your life.
Seated in Door County, at Gills Rock, this house is ideal for anyone to experience all Door County has to offer. We found ourselves so in love with this home, the only time we left was to go to the store to grab steaks for dinner. We will miss this beautiful home but, we will be back.
To all previous guests who signed the visitor's log, THANK YOU! Your tips were so helpful!
This property has such charm, personality and comfort. Every room is fun to be in and the layout is like a labyrinth of interesting roof-lines, nooks and crannies. The woodwork and stonework is beautiful. And even more exciting is the amazing view of the lake and Washington Island shoreline. The sunsets were some of the most beautiful I've seen.
Iâm blessed to have a growing American family with roots going back now to England, Italy, and Argentina. âHappy are those that dream dreams, and willing to pay the price to make those dreams come true.â
Itâs proximity to the cliff edge. Itâs orientation North for incredible views and sunsets. Itâs ârustic eleganceâ. Itâs harmony with the surrounding environment. Itâs ability to humble you âŠ
