Spacious, light-filled home in tranquil and convenient location
Suburbia meets beautiful Northwest scenery at our 4 bedroom, 3 full bath home in Salmon Creek. Quick access to I-5 and I-205, yet quiet, spacious, convenient to shopping, close to hiking trails and an easy 20-minute drive to Portland. In a very safe neighborhood, our place is good for just about anyone and their pets, except for large or small groups looking for a place to party. Relocating families would find this a perfect transition spot. Guests love cooking in our well-stocked kitchen. Lots of skylights. Cozy nooks yet spacious!
The layout of the house was PERFECT for all 7 of us. Large spaces to be together and small spaces for private study/work. Being elderly we loved that there was a bedroom on the main floor with a bathroom nearby. The house was well-stocked and certainly clean. We also appreciated we were able to bring our dogs. That's rare!
This property has a lot of potential. But there are some things that need immediate attention. One bathroom had mold on the shower curtain and bathmat, some outlets seemed to be worn out, the kitchen faucet was very loose and hard to use, the bathroom vent fans were very noisy, and the carpet needed a good cleaning. This is a lovely house and in a great location. It was wonderful to have 3 full baths, the rooms are all a nice size with plenty of room for a family.
Overall, I considered our (family) stay to be good to excellent. House interior was clean and neat. Some deferred maintenance was noted. The front door latch/handle did not operate smoothly; there is a small hole in the wall made by the front door handle; the kitchen faucet was loose at the base and did not operate smoothly; a couple of the bathroom fans were noisy especially the one in the first floor bathroom; the blind for the rear sliding glass door was difficult to operate and 4/5 slats were missing and the gutter at the front door is blocked. It rained one day and the water was running over the gutter. Security bars for the window in the garage would be helpful. We did enjoy our stay and if we are in Vancouver again we would rent the house again. Thank you. (Note: the boots at the trash can were there when we arrived and the trash cans were full).
Because we were going to a concert at Tidgefield this was a perfect location! Very close by and very comfortable. There were a few issues with the air conditioning, but the property owner was quick to contact a company and get someone in to take care of things. Which was fortunate because it was one of those hundred degree days and the house does get very warm. It was perfectly comfortable for my parents in their 80s and my kids in their 30s and my husband and I. We had our three dogs with us and they loved the yard and we felt perfectly at ease having them in the house, which is a really nice thing to say.
Host was lovely, quick to respond. The WiFi did not work while we were there, but wasnât a big deal. House was pretty outdated and felt a little dirty. Shower curtain liner in spare bathroom upstairs had black spots, most the outlets in the house need replaced as all our chargers just fell out of them. Had to rewash most of our dishes before using them. Outdoor space could have been cleaned up too. All in all, the neighborhood was perfect and we went up for a concert at the cascade amphitheater which was very close to the house, but was slightly disappointed with the house due to the cost of the weekend. Felt like it should be to a higher standard with that price tag. Also was frustrated after going to the booking page to see a steep host fee. If thatâs for cleaning, the house should have been cleaner. All in all, location was perfect, host was nice, probably wouldnât stay again at that price point - didnât feel worth it.
It was a great experience for a first time VRBO.
We really enjoyed the stay, lots of room and ways to be together, or apart with available spaces.
Host was immediately available when we had questions, and responded right away.
Susanâs home was perfect for the 6 of us. Itâs big, bright, & so accommodating & comfortable. We also enjoyed the private backyard in the nice weather. Susan was always very sweet & helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
The house is in a nice little neighborhood, walking distance to a large park and close to both I-5 and 205. We felt right at home.
While we were in town for a wedding, we also enjoyed going to Lewisville Park, Ape Caves, and Portland.
Thanks for providing a comfortable resting place during a great week of celebration!
My partner, parents, and I stayed here during a New Yearâs visit with family in Battle Ground. We brought our two dogs who gave it their stamp of approval (it was nice to find a dog-friendly place).
The home looks just like the pictures: vibrant colors, lots of light, and a fenced yard our pups enjoyed running around in. The kitchen and family room area is open and spacious - perfect for big family gatherings. We all felt right at home!
The house is in the suburbs in a quiet area thatâs ten minutes from most things youâd need. Susan, the owner, was very communicative and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay!
This was the perfect house for a cozy family get together. Wonderful layout for having everyone together for a movie or game, and plenty of room to spread out when privacy/quiet is needed. We will definitely be back!
Large property in quiet location. Convenient location for shopping and nearby attractions. Easy check in with a responsive host if needed. Great home for a large group. Recommend this property if the size and location meet your needs.
