As noted in our listing and welcome information, Gem House is located on a busier residential street in the city of Erie. The home has brand-new double-pane windows, and while we find it very quiet during our own stays, we understand that everyone has different sensitivities to sound. That's why we provide complimentary earplugs for guests who may be bothered by the sounds of traffic or the birds that nest near the windows. Thank you again for staying with us. Throughout your reservation, we were in regular communication before, during, and after your stay, and none of the concerns mentioned in your review were brought to our attention. We always encourage guests to let us know if anything isn't meeting their expectations while they're here, as we would have been happy to help. Erie weather can be unpredictable, and your visit coincided with an unusually hot stretch. While the weather is beyond our control, we provide a game room, board games, and easy access to many indoor attractions in Erie, so guests have plenty to do while staying with us. The first floor has its own air conditioning unit and two ceiling fans that help keep the space comfortable, and the two upstairs bedrooms each have their own air conditioning units as well. Homes near Lake Erie may occasionally have insects or spiders, particularly during the summer months. Our professional housekeeper thoroughly cleans and vacuums the home after every guest to ensure it is clean and welcoming. We understand the driveway may seem steep at first, which is why we include photos and note it in our listing and welcome information. We have stayed at Gem House with many different rental vehicles over the years and have never experienced any issues parking in the driveway. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, home-away-from-home experience in a nice residential neighborhood. Vacation rentals and hotels naturally offer different experiences, and we strive to provide the comfort, character, and amenities that make staying at Gem House a unique and enjoyable experience.
