Newly renovated home! One block from Back of the Dragon-Close to downtown Marion

Location, location, location! This newly-renovated home is the perfect setting for a peaceful getaway to the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Situated in a quiet residential neighborhood, you will have easy access to some of the most popular attractions in Marion, Virginia. We are one block from the famous Back of the Dragon and near the heart of downtown Marion. Hungry Mother State Park is just five minutes away. The Emory & Henry School of Health Sciences is within walking distance. Other nearby attractions include The Lincoln Theater, Appalachian Trail, Virginia Creeper Trail, Grayson Highlands State Park and Bristol Motor Speedway. After a busy day, unwind by sitting on the front porch, which offers a spectacular view of deer grazing, against a backdrop of distant mountains or sit around the firepit in the spacious back yard as you visit with friends and family.
The home includes 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom; Smart TV's; dining room table; central air/heat, washer/dryer, and hardwood floors.
The kitchen is equipped with everything that guests need to prepare meals during their stay, including cookware, microwave, blender, Crockpot, dishes, utensils, toaster and Keurig Coffee station.
The bathroom is stocked with complimentary toiletries and a hair dryer. Plenty of linens, towels and pillows are provided to make sure guests are as comfortable as possible. An ironing board and iron/steamer are provided, as well.
The home has a carport, with an entrance into the kitchen, along with space for two additional vehicles behind the covered parking. There is also a lower driveway, which provides space for parking additional vehicles (3) or a trailer.
The property has an unfinished basement, which is not accessible to guests during their stay.

It is a great location. It is close to Hungary Mother Park, fishing, grocery store, Walmart, restaurants and beautiful Mountain View’s. The house is awesome in great condition.

Very clean. Easy to get to from Route 81. Close to every thing that we wanted to do. Very quiet. Outside the village but close to restaurants. Comfortable furniture. This was our second time staying here. We look forward to staying again.

The Best

My group of 4 adults travel each June via motorcycle to a new destination. This year, we wanted to ride the Back of the Dragon. Margaret's property is perfect for this. It's less than a mile from Rt 16 and is the nicest vrbo I have stayed in to date. This completely renovated house is meticulously furnished and maintained. Everything is new and works perfectly. We grilled on the outdoor propane grill, relaxed on the outdoor furniture and kept our bikes safe and dry under the carport at night and during the one day it rained. The shower is everything the other reviewers have noted and more. This is a truly exceptional property. You won't be disappointed.

This property reminded me of my Grandmother’s house. It was clean, beautiful, convenient, and easy to get to, quiet. . It is a little way from downtown but not bad. We really enjoyed it. The shower was a hidden treat!

Quiet, cozy home

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in town visiting a sick relative and Margaret's home was clean, inviting, and offered some very welcomed comfort during our stay. Margaret was very helpful with providing information for the check-in and check-out process. The kitchen was well equipped and the shower was awesome!

Perfect Girls Getaway

We’ve stayed in many VRBO properties and my daughter and I agreed this was the best one so far. Thank you Margaret for your hospitality! The kitchen was clean, had more pots, pans, bowls, and spices than we needed to make dinner and breakfast, and the home was warm, welcoming, and had a beautiful view. We’ll be back if we find oursrlves back in the area again.

Better than expected!

Absolutely spotless, very well maintained home! Fantastic shower (now I have to buy one for my home because my wife loved it so much) so many utensils/appliances to use in the kitchen was nice! We cooked in the kitchen every day. We will definitely be back!

Blue Ridge Relay

Needed a quick overnight stay close to Grayson Highlands State Park. The house was immaculately clean. We enjoyed the restaurant district. Several good restaurant choices. Highly recommend!

Great getaway

We loved staying here for our annual trip to Marion. It was easy to access, clean, comfortable, kid and family friendly. The shower was a highlight and we were welcomed with a personalized sign when we got arrived. We had an unexpected issue pop up late in the evening one night. The host was easy to contact and quickly respond to the issue. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

We stayed for a couple of nights while visiting the area. We loved being close to Hungry Mother State Park and having beautiful views from the house. The house was welcoming and comfortable, and had everything you could wish for a wonderful stay.

Yearly Get together

I grew up in this area, and familiar with the street. The home was clean and easy to access. Fortunately, we ate our meals out, so we wouldn’t dirty up too much. The back bedroom wasn’t slept on at all, the other back bedroom was slept on the bedspread only. The other bedroom, we stripped the sheets, put dirty towels together, and took the garbage with us. I usually stay in a hotel, but was thrilled to find this rare gem that had a walk in shower. My son has seizures, so this was a perfect fit us. I hope we didn’t bother anyone with the ring doorbell. We were in and out a lot. Thank you again for allowing us to stay at this wonderful home. Ginger Ewing

Great experience and home!

We use VRBO often and have always had a good experience but this stay was one of the best. The house was very nice and clean, the owners added a personal welcome message in the kitchen which was a very nice touch. The shower system is amazing especially after a long day hiking in this beautiful area. They communicated very well and we will definitely be staying there again in the next few months. It is a great area to get outdoors and disconnect and this house is the perfect place to come back to and relax and rest.

Creeper Trail

Very clean and quiet home. The beds are comfortable and the shower is awesome. We stayed for the weekend to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail. It is just a 25 minute drive from the house to Damascus where we met our shuttle. I would rent this house again
