Gorgeous loft in historic building near HPU, restaurants, shops.
Spacious loft with high ceiling, architectural details, and an art studio feel. Situated in historic downtown, where a number of new businesses have opened including restaurants, shops, a bakery, bookstore, and winery. Walking distance from Howard Payne University and next door to highly acclaimed Steveâs Market & Deli. Short drive from parks and hiking trails. Comfortable, quiet, beautifully furnished. Well appointed kitchen and office area with printer and art supplies for guest use. Lovely space with abundant natural light, and new mid-century furnishings throughout.
This property is one of the best Iâve stayed in. You can tell that a great deal of care has gone into the preparation of it. Itâs comfortable and cozy with everything you need.
What a great place! Everything you could need. They do not skimp on kitchen furnishings and the beds are comfy. The place was spotless and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again!
Location of property was great for what we were doing for the week. My son was in a Lyric performance and we live out of town. Property is in short walking distance to theater. The freezer had not been cleaned out of contents apon arrival and the stove temperature panal had food debris. The uninvited roach guest was not a plus either on the two occasions i saw him. Pretty sure the the listing said Smart TV but once there instruction book said only DVD and Firestick. It would not change out of DVD mode. I messaged owner and was told to sign in my Amazon. Couldn't get that far. So no TV the whole week. Decor, location are good. Just needed more attention to detail of cleaning and pest control.
We stayed here while moving in our daughter to Brownwood. It was a nice location close to coffee shops and restaurants. Place was very nice, super clean and cute! Would totally recommend!
We really enjoyed the charm and character of this VRBO. The host was so kind to set up the extra twin mattress for us and we appreciated the snacks since we were traveling with two kids. We only stayed one night but almost wished we had a little more time at this beautiful studio VRBO!
The Goldfish Loft is a unique and beautiful place to stay in Brownwood. We were there one night for a collegiate sport event and were charmed with our experience. The rental is very well appointed and within walking distance to great shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend it if you find yourself looking for a place to stay in Brownwood TX.
We love staying at the Goldfish Loft. Everything is perfect, and it has the cutest decor. The snacks are so appreciated because there are always two teens with us. Itâs our home away from home where we come to visit our son at college.
Spacious, creative space thatâs the perfect retreat
A spacious loft with everything you could want for the perfect retreat from your everyday business. The property owner is gracious and kind, providing a number of thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. If you are traveling through Brownwood or choosing to stay for a bit to experience the sights and history, do yourself a favor and book your stay here. I truly canât imagine staying anywhere else in or around Brownwood!
Clean spot with just enough room for our family of 5. Short walking distance to shopping and food. Place is clean, well kept, and A/C works great. Draw a picture!
It was a very cool property in the heart of downtown Brownwood. Walking distance to all kinds of shops and restaurants in an up and coming small Texas town! The loft was well done with a lot of nice touches. The deli next door is quaint and has awesome food. Other than a few trains in the distance it was very quiet and peaceful despite being downtown. I will stay there again in the future!
This downtown "city loft" style space was above and beyond what I expected might be available in Brownwood, TX and a wonderful value.
First, the location is perfect for anyone preferring to be in the central part of town. It's located on the street level just a block from City Hall and adjoins a delicious and fabulous place called "Steves' Market and Deli," which is run by the loft's hosts, Steve and Steve. These guys are the absolute best and know everything about what is happening around town. Pop in next door for a coffee or lunch--it's a must do. You are also a super short walk from other very good dining and entertainment options.
Second, the loft itself is the size of 2-3 normal hotel rooms and has a kitchen which comes stocked with everything you need to cook and a premium/gourmet coffee service set-up. The space is beautifully appointed throughout and has a great bed/linens. Despite the downtown location, noise was never an issue because city-center Brownwood isn't loud and felt very safe to walk around even after dark. The bathroom was wonderful and spacious with a great shower and bath products.
All in all, I had a fantastic stay and recommend it to anyone without any hesitation ... this is without a doubt the single best "high end" accommodation in the greater Brownwood area.
Highly recommend this property? Perfect location for downtown and just a few blocks from HPU. The beds were amazing and very comfortable. My daughter goes to HPU so we will absolutely stay here again. If you visit brownwood definitely see if the Goldfish is available to stay in, you will not regret it.
Highly recommend this property! The pictures did not do it justice. It was in a great location and exactly what we were looking for on our weekend exploring Brownwood. Would absolutely stay here again!
What a gem! Perfect little touches right in downtown. They even had snacks and art supplies. We were so comfortable and the extras added to the wonderful stay. We even booked our next stay before we left.
My friend and I make frequent road trips. This property is by far our favorite we have stayed in. Comfortable, stylish, accommodating, convenient parking... everything we could have hoped for.
I am pleased to share my beautiful property with you. I am an artist and retired registered nurse, mother of 3, and grandmother of 4. I love to create, hike, and travel. Most of all I love spending time with my family and enjoying nature.
I happened on this property a few months post retirement. It has been a wonderful place to live and make art. My neighbors are great. It has been fun to watch the downtown area develop and old buildings being restored to their former glory. There are block parties, festivals, and a surprisingly full calendar of events. And yet, it is quiet and within walking distance of some of my favorite places. It reminds me of the Montemarte area in France, where you have a beautiful blend of old and new, and a lot of artistic and entrepreneurial people.
Lovely space full of natural light, perfect for art making, resting or reading. Close to everything and not too far from some other cute towns with their own offerings (San Saba, Coleman, etc). The downtown experience is a cultural one where you can walk to dinner and the theater, or to an art gallery or bookstore.
