Charming Riverside/Avondale Award Winning Historical Home! Family/pet friendly!
Victorian home built in 1903, fully renovated with all the modern comforts, but keeping its history and southern charm. Located in the historical area of Avondale, with excellent restaurants, beautiful parks and shops all in walking distance; museums and downtown just 5 minutes away. Enjoy a fun day of shopping in original and eclectic boutiques or take a bike ride and see all the historical sites. 10 minutes to treatment centers like The Proton Center, Mayo Clinic and the new Anderson's Cancer Center. A cozy comfortable home, but large enough for you to have multiple couples or a large family.
Stayed for two weeks. This property is well-located, with a 15 minute walk to the shops and restaurants in Avondale. The house is spacious and well appointed. We especially appreciated the large master bathroom and kitchen. The property owner was responsive to our questions and requests. Lots of bedrooms for a larger group.
My family LOVED gathering in this home. It's spacious, well stocked and beautifully located. Host was responsive, accessible. The backyard seating area was lovely for morning coffee and evening chats.
The property is in a nice quiet neighborhood. Downstairs area very open and spacious. The backyard was very quaint. Really enjoyed my stay and would stay again!!!
Lovely restored home. Beautiful furnishings and comfortable for our 6 person family group. Very clean and nice walking neighborhood close to the river.
We enjoyed our stay in this spacious and well-appointed home located in a beautiful, leafy neighborhood. Great location for walking to dinner, shopping and quick drive to a gem of a museum--Cummer Museum and Gardens. Highly recommend.
The house is clean, well decorated and spacious. It is located in a quiet, desirable neighborhood which is close to a museum, parks, shops and restaurants (walking distance for some). The house is plenty big for a group of 6 or more. I could live in this house!
We absolutely loved our stay. The historical home was so clean and very beautifully decorated. Our King size bed was so comfy. We golfed during the day and then returned for the evening to have dinner close by at local restaurants. We especially loved âBiscottiâs.â We also enjoyed a morning walk in âBooneâs Parkâ located in the area as well. All in all a great stay. Will definitely be back.
Close to good restaurants and classy bars, large house, beautiful with a lot of character. I hosted friends for dinner one night and lunch the next day. Good street parking in front of the house. Quiet neighbors. I never saw or heard any of them.
Owner was helpful but property didnât meet expectations
While the owner was very lovely and responsive, unfortunately the property didnât meet our expectations and we checked out after one night. We knew it was a heritage / older home so expected more antique type furniture but listing made it seem more updated then it was. We also found it smelled very musty and the carpets were in bad condition. So unfortunately we didnât stay.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Everything was exactly as pictured and there was so much space for us that we didnât feel on top of each other. My family came in to town to celebrate my graduation from nursing school. Would definitely stay here again!
Avondale is one of the few walking neighborhoods in Jacksonville. You can enjoy shops, museums and restaurants without a car. With a car you can be downtown, at a professional sports game or at the primary Performing Arts Center all within 5 minutes!
This beautiful historic home has all the modern conveniences without giving up the charm of 120+ year old home. Children will love sleeping in the 3rd floor bonus room, with a sleeping area and a sitting room.
