Most beautiful house we have ever stayed in-exceeded all our expectations! Clean, cozy, comfortable, complete! Beautiful view of river. Everything you could want and more. Absolutely gorgeous!
This location was such a treat, and the property and riverfront were beautiful and peaceful. Iâve never experienced a rental that was fully equipped like this one was, it made the our time feel like home. The hosts were lovely, and very accommodating and empathetic to requests.
The house is in a perfect setting and absolutely amazing. We loved the quirkiness and character of the property and they way the history is preserved and celebrated. We have nothing negative to say and will definitely be looking to stay here again when we are in town.
We chose this house due its size for our family & location for my husband's work related class. I can't say enough good things about the location, convenience for shopping, eating out, the beaches. The house has everything you could imagine a house needing. There's beach gear, fishing gear, games, dvds, lunch box, kayaks for rent if you contact the hosts, grill, printer/fax machine. They have fans, baby gates, dog kennel, play pen. You really just need to pack comforts & pick up what groceries you'd need. This was the best rental we've ever stayed at!! Definitely use the information binder. It's got some really cool suggestions in it!
I said home, because this was truly a home, not just a vacation house. There was truly everything that was needed, especially in the kitchen. Normally I take spices, an ice tea container, etc. as generally there is S&P, no tea container. This kitchen had it all. There were games, books, puzzles and everything that you would need for the beach or to go kayaking. It was lovely to sit on the deck. We tried the crab pots but must of been too early as none were place out in the river and we had not a nibble. Husband did catch a few small fish and returned. All in all a very nice quiet week. We enjoyed our stay at this historic home. The grounds are lovely and we took advantage of the scenery spending a lot of time outside. Hosts were responsive and we enjoyed some of the little extras that were there like the beach bag, beach towels, & beach chairs. Thank you for hosting us!
After days of looking for a tranquil cabin, and when we were about to give up, my husband and I found the Historic Riverfront Hideaway. We were in desperate need of nature and serenity. I sent a note to Beata the afternoon prior to our trip, booked it very late at night, and the following morning got the check-in instructions. We arrived at dusk. The check-in was a breeze. The cabin breathes love. Each room delivers a distinct and unique experience. The yard is absolutely gorgeous. Perfectly fenced for our Italian Greyhound and our Whippet to have fun.The deck close to the dock is unbeatable for a morning coffee and chat. The table setting outside by the main door is also super cool for an early dinner with the sunset as the backdrop. The 180 degrees views from the main bedroom are fantastic. I had to do some work and enjoyed very much sitting on the coach with my laptop while being surrounded by a lush landscape and riverside views. The TV and soundbar are an awesome part of the experience too with access to movies and streaming services provided by Beata and Chris. We interacted with both of them and they were uber kind and very nimble in responding to our inquiries. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any type of meal. The cabin is very private. One heads up, it shares location with an adjacent property. If you are in the dining room, is really close. We wish it would have curtains. That would make this cabin a % private. We def. want to come back!
Our second stay at this lovely house was great. Itâs quiet, private and has a wonderful backyard on the river. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a peaceful, secluded spot in the very busy Jacksonville area.
I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at this charming waterfront property. It offered a peaceful escape with plenty of amenities, yet was still close to downtown. The A/C kept everything cool, the furniture was comfortable, and I loved that it was dog-friendly, complete with a large fenced yard (just keep an eye near the water). Overall, an excellent experience, and Iâll definitely book again when Iâm back.
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was everything we could have asked for. Anything you needed was there for your comfort. So thoughtful. The weather was beautiful, so we spent most of our days outside by the water. The cabin was so comfy and perfect.
Thank you for sharing your treasure with us.
What a wonderful experience. The house was all that it said it was and more. Right on the river and quick shot to the ocean if you have a boat. Conveniently located to almost anything you need Food, Grocery Store, and bait shop.
My husband, 2 sons (14 & 17), German Shepherd and I really enjoyed our stay. We were visiting from Delaware and as soon as we pulled in from a long 12-hour drive, we were met with a really charming cabin with great character and a beautifully serene spot on the water with our own dock for fishing/crabbing. We even had dolphins swimming by the dock. The grounds were beautiful as well and it felt as if we didn't even have any neighbors. It was the perfect place to finally be able to slow down and just enjoy each other as a family. The house was very clean, and well stocked with items to allow us to enjoy our stay from the moment we arrived. The hosts, Beata and Chris, are very quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
Clean, comfortable place for some peace and quiet and fishing! Our dog loved the ability to be outside and the view was incredible. The building itself is very unique, being an old Scout cabin, and the architectural details preserved really make the place outstanding. Great hosts and a place packed with everything you need.
Loved the whole vibe of this Old Florida home on the river. Our boat plans fell through otherwise I think we would have had a perfect stay. Everything needed was provided down to the bug spray. It gets a little warm during the middle of the day in the main cabinâŠ.but everything does in July! Loved to sit outside and look at the view. Puzzles in the back room were a nice way to have coffee in the morning. The neighborhood was a little sketchy driving in but once you get to the house itâs lovely.
This was the perfect hideaway for my family to decompress together and mark some big milestones â a graduation and funeral on one long weekend! Feels miles away from it all while there â but still a quick 12 minutes to downtown/San Marco for events. Comfortable beds, fast wi-fi, and FISHING!! (We caught and ate breakfast every day). Sadly it was too warm for a fire â we will have to return in cooler months to experience the rest of the magic. :)
Chris & I enjoy traveling and exploring with our 3 children and our sweet dog, Luna. We have previously lived in New York City and San Francisco, CA, but when we arrived in the Jacksonville area in 2014, we fell in love its sandy beaches, mossy oaks, and the Southern hospitality and charm. We have decided that the Jacksonville area is our favorite place to live and we warmly welcome you here! -Beata & Chris
The previous owners of this beautiful property, Katie and Everett, have done a great job setting it up as a vacation rental and have been welcoming guests since 2014. When Chris & I came across the log cabin and it's nostalgic charm in early 2020, we knew that we wanted to continue Katie & Everett's legacy and that it would be the perfect place to continue to welcome guests during their stay in the Jacksonville area.
This unique property boasts a historic log cabin that was built around a hundred years ago, when there was nothing but fields around it. Historically, it was owned by the American Boy Scouts, as well as a German-American Group. It features a beautiful stone chimney surrounded by rustic log walls and a wooden ceiling. It is situated directly on the river, allowing you to relax and enjoy what nature has to offer. It is the perfect place to get away from everyday life!
