Wonderful, cozy property in the foothills. It was a perfect home base for our hiking trip in Shasta and surrounding area. The hot tub felt wonderful after we hiked Castle Crags!

Close to so much beauty

The mountain cabin is close to so many amazing places in the Shasta Lake area. After day hikes, kayaking, cavern tours and a dinner cruise on Mt. Shasta, the home was in a very convenient, quiet and beautiful area. The sunsets and starry nights were amazing. Kavian was an amazing help to us. We're so grateful for everything he helped us with.

Great, unique cabin

A sufficient cabin! It has a pretty unique layout that you’ll probably remember forever, but everything was clean, up-to-date, and functional. Kitchen was well-stocked with the exception of cutting boards, from what we could find. The queen beds were definitely on the smaller end, but the bunks were big enough to match. Hosts were great and communicative!

Amazing

Originally we booked for 6 adults and 3 kids but or kids and grandkids backed out last minute. The property is a bit off the beaten path but so peaceful and relaxing. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend a lot of time there as we had other things planned. We hope to come back and enjoy it again soon.

Pretty Cool Property

A group of friends and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend this year. Pictures were very similar to the listing, the only caveat I have is about the bunk beds. In the picture, it looks like there is more room than in real life. We were 4 adults in this room, and we were pretty crammed. I would recommend this room only for kids. Other than that, BBQ was cool, common areas were really nice and spacious, and the location is a nice getaway close to the Lake.

Thank you so much! 😊 We’re glad you and your friends enjoyed the spacious common areas, BBQ, and peaceful location near the lake. We also appreciate your feedback about the bunk room. The room has full-size bunk beds, as mentioned in the listing description, so it can feel a little more cozy for couples sharing the room. We’re happy you still had a great getaway and would love to welcome you back anytime!

Could be an exceptional property

The best features were the location and cleanliness. One bedroom did not have an air conditioner, 5 washcloths and 6 hand towels for 10 people, wonky screens on sliding glass doors, broken can opener, broken air conditioner in one bedroom, limited kitchen stuff, many light bulbs were burned out, light switches that didn’t make sense, uncomfortable beds and pillows, all inside stairs were spiral staircases -- difficulty to carry suitcases up and could cause accessibility problems for some people.

Plenty of space for 2 families

Great place and a Wonderful owner. House is spacious, beds are comfortable. It was raining 80 % of the time and cold. Heaters were not working very well so it was cold. Loved the place. The furniture really needs an upgrade. None of the chairs had cushions so for the elderly was difficult sitting. Couches didnt have lefs so if we got down there someone had to pull you up. None of this would have been an issue had it not rained so much so the old folks stayed in verses going on outings to the snow was 45 minute drive.

Mountain cabin

Overall we had a really good stay and would stay again. The only issues we had were about some of the amenities. The pool table was one of the reasons we picked this house over others but it was unusable. A cheap table, poorly put together and not level at all. It was impossible to play a game. The hot tub was nice but the first time 2 of us got in it, it overflowed and immediately shut off. We went underneath the deck the next day to see what happened. It was plugged into an extension cord and sat directly underneath. As soon as any water hit it it tripped the gfi outlet. So I reset the outlet and put the plug up into the beams so it would be out of the way, no problems after that. Other than those things, there were a couple of things found broken, a screen door and a handle in the master shower, but those weren’t that big of a deal. I would still very much recommend the house to anyone looking for a quiet getaway from the city. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of linens. Kitchen was well stocked. Please get rid of that pool table though.

Well-worn and spacious group retreat property

Awesome house for a crowd not looking for anything fancy. I visited the area for a reunion with college friends. We were a bunch of dudes looking for a place that could accommodate our group size and offer space to spread out and keep us entertained, and this house met the mark easily. The road to get to the property is unpaved in sections, so make sure you’re comfortable driving on various surfaces and winding roads. There is ample parking for vehicles on site, but you’ll have to navigate a relatively steep and gently turning driveway, so I wouldn’t bring an RV even though the host told us that we could. The furniture, decks, and spiral staircases have all been heavily worn, but everything felt reasonably safe to use. This house does not have accessibility features and will not work for groups that include anyone with reduced mobility. It rained during our stay, so the deck spaces and the forest lounge weren’t used as much as we’d have liked, but were terrific features that add a lot of interest to the property. Communication with the host was consistent and easy. House rules are entirely reasonable and cleanup was a breeze thanks to plenty of trash cans. All told this is a good house for outdoorsy groups who don’t expect or want all the finer points of a well-stocked and appointed vacation rental. Looking for a place to sleep, shower, and play beer pong? This is it.
