Small quaint cabin with outside hot tub, sleeps 6!
Enjoy this small(please pay attention to the pictures and description, I have so many people reply back itâs small)but quaint cabin with outdoor hot tub! 1st bedroom has full bed and closet and nightstand, second bedroom has bunkbeds full and twin beds, closet, nightstand. 3rd bedroom/bunk has single bed. Loft has full and twin beds and nightstand, the stairs getting to the loft are a little steep. Being a small cabin there is slidable curtains for doors because of cabin size. Bathroom has smaller shower and smaller hot water heater (2-3 person.) Close to trail heads for snowmobiling and utvâing. Snowmobile, utv and pontoon rental minutes away. Bar, restaurant, dollar store, gas station minutes away. Bear lake, good for fish, boating and small beach, minutes away. Manistee River 10 minutes away, great fishing, kayaking and canoeing. AuSable River 15 minutes away, great kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Shanty Creek Golf Course, Turtle Creek Casino, Houghton Lake 30 minutes away. Boyne Mountain Ski Resort, Traverse City, Torch Lake 45 minutes away. Mackinac City 90 minutes away.
I thought it was a good value for a home base for a snowmobile trip , not a big living area to hang out in but it has 6 beds and where there to ride not hang out in the house .
Small, cozy cabin. Somewhat lacking in kitchen amenities and could use a good cleaning but is comfortable and quiet. The hot tub is the best we've ever been in! The jets are fabulous! We would definitely stay here again.
Property description is accurate, it is quite small but serves the purpose if you are just sleeping there. We had an infant and toddler and the temps were just so low outside that we found it hard to get the cabin and bedrooms warm enough for the kids to sleep so we ended up going home early. Also the blood on the bathroom light switch should and the mouse poop on the counter hadnt been cleaned prior to arrival.
It was lovely but we had some things that concerned us. Thankfully i was wear shoes but i did step on a big screw on the back porch and it almost went through the shoe I was wearing. And it says 6 beds but there two in this little loft area but the latter to get up there just seemed really unsafe to climb up. And then there was an another bed but the latter to it was broken as well.
I enjoyed my weekend away in a quiet northern MI cabin. The hot tub was very relaxing. The cabin has a lot of potential but needs a deep clean. Host was very responsive.
Cabin was great kids enjoyed and we will definitely book there again only thing was we wish the hot tub was filled up all the way and that it was cleaned
The hot tub was great but it did not look clean. The floater containing the chlorine was empty. The tv had a great selection and the shower was great although I did see a black spider.
The property was grossly misrepented , we very much enjoyed the Kalkaska utv trail system. The cabin is filthy with old beds and no real heat system. Not enough towels for the four night stay.
We left one day early.
Excellent communication from Ed. Excellent location of the property. Hot tub is in pristine condition and receives pristine maintenance. We came up for the color to tour which was spectacular. And the cool evenings spent in the hot tub was out of this world. Highly recommend.
Good place if you're heading out on the trails. Our host was very responsive to us for check-in and issues. The house needed a little more cleaning, but the beds were clean and everything we needed was present. No internet was available, which we made the host aware of, but we were out on the ATV trails and passed time playing games (bring DVDs if you have to have a movie). Lots of comfortable places to sleep. The hot tub was nice and clean as well. If you have more than two people and want to play games, I suggest you bring a small portable table. We ended up playing cards on the floor, but were still comfortable. All in all, good stay and the location is perfect for accessing an ATV trailhead.
Let me begin by saying we donât have high expectations after reading the reviews. We were very realistic going into this place that it may not be the cleanest or most equipped. That is true. But I was NOT prepared for just how dirty it actually is or the fact that there is actually black mold in the main bedroom. We were left with one half roll of toilet paper and the place was filthy. Dirty tables (tv stand tables), dirty ladder going to the loft, Dirty socks in the bunk bedroom, dirty hot tub with vomit pile next to the deck. And the hot tub was not full enough so the jets just shoot out all over. Overall, we made the best of it and had fun but would certainly not recommend this rental to anyone. The cleanliness is an issueâŠ.. but the black mold is simply inexcusable, especially for families traveling with small children or pets.
We had 5 adults and 2 larger dogs, had plenty of room and was very comfortable. Keep in mind the cabin is a cabin, not a posh upscale hotel, but the hot tub was amazing. The area is very quiet and relaxing. I wish I would have really looked at distances to where our activities were, it was a bit far but that is on me. Our dogs loved the curtains on the rooms, they were able to snoop whenever they wanted, especially if someone was in the bathroom. The only odd thing was part of the check out was you needed to take your garbage with you, but there were no suggestions where you could dispose of it. We had no room in our vehicle to carry it 4 1/2 hours home. We found a dumpster at a construction site but that probably wasn't the legal thing to do. The property owner was very responsive when I messaged him.
The place is extremely small. There were electric heaters in each room. The loft is only accessible by someone capable of climbing a ladder. The 4th bedroom is literally a closet and only a small child would fit in the built in bed. The bedrooms and bathroom have curtains for doors so privacy is limited. The WIFI didnt work until the second day when the maintenance man finally showed up. The only good thing about this place was the hot tub but still that had its issues. The radio stuck on one station and volume level and we had a hard time turning that off. Overall we were disappointed and half of us left early.
We rented this property for a weekend in February, however due to circumstances beyond anyone's control (frozen pipes) we were unable to stay. We did check in, which was a very simple process. Upon noticing there was no water, we contacted the owner. Immediate responses and he sent maintenance over right away. After figuring out there was a bigger problem and there wouldn't be any water at least until the next day we decided to find another place to stay. The place was really cute. The house was stocked with what we may have needed for our stay. The T.V reception didn't seem to work that well and noticed the antenna was broken outside. We peeked inside of the hot tub and that was clean and smelled chlorinated like it should be. There were no actual doors to any of the rooms (just curtains) including the bathroom. The house was really small but very comfortable. It's heated with a single wall unit, which seemed to heat the area just fine. We didn't sleep in the beds but everything looked clean and organized in the bedrooms. Owner refunded rental monies within a half hour of us leaving. Communication was superb and a big thanks to Ed for opening up his home for guests. We would definitely book this again!
