This day was lovely for our Labor Day weekend. It had great access to the river and the property seemed very well maintained. It was spacious and good for a big group.

Bullshead Lodge Review

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really loved the house. The layout was perfect for the 4 families, especially the common space. Everything was clean and well appointed. Our only issues were the super slow internet, our inability to order movies on demand (need the owners name for directv), the lack of hot water for a house of this size, and the day the workers arrived to cut stone and repair the flagstone stairs--they were there all day. I would rent the house again in a heartbeat, even given the few challenges above.

Fabulous house in Tahoe

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall a very impressive house with loads of space. Easily sleeps the people it says on the website. Kids had a fabulous time with going on sleigh rides in the back. Facilities and service of the house also worked well. Good hot water, nice hot tub, functional kitchen, clean beds. Great. The only thing I would have wished for was a better wifi connection as this was patchy at best. Maybe it's due to the landline going in and the area. But apart from that a great place to stay.

The house is dated....very dated needs to be totally refurnished. Kitchen stove must be 20-25 years old and very difficult to get gas started...starting a campfire is easier. Pots and pans must be as old as the house, worn, typhlon very scratched and no serving platters what so ever. Lack of basic kitchen utensils as well.Also be advised, despite being close to Palisades Ski area there is NO shuttle service that services the house. Management company tried to accomodate us after falsely representing that door to door shuttle service was available, but they did so only after providing evidence of their false representations. You will have to reserve parking (if available) at mountain and drive. Only two small TV's and both difficult to operate with no instructions provided.

Great Place and location

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect! We loved the river, lawn area this the excellent part of the place! Overall the place is was very good. The issues where it was not that clean. Our guests found stuff that had not been cleaned, and we paid extra for early stay ($75). The oven was very difficult and it was mentioned in the views as an issue, but this made it much harder. The tv was another issue. The sound was not hooked up so it was more difficult to hear with the windows opened in the evening. For the price these things need to be fixed and upgraded. Still loved the place, but we own properties and we just believe it should be top notch when high priced.

2/10 Horrible

Working with Tahoe Getaways was the worst experience we've ever had

This review is long overdue. But we had the worst experience of our life under tahoe getaways. The service was shamefully poor and the house we rented had many extreme issues such as running out of propane (which Tahoe properties did not have checked before we arrived) in a freezing cold storm when we were trapped in the property for days. Tahoe properties was rude to us, and unconcerned with our difficulties. Since that experience, we've made sure to tell everyone we know what bad service TP delivers and how they really don't care.

Nice house, but street noise

The house was nice and the check in and check out process easy. I would not rent it again because of the street noise heard through open windows and on the deck. It really detracted from the serenity. I would not have booked this house if I knew it was right on the highway.

Beautiful Home… But…

The home setting is absolutely stunning. Living room views of rock face mountains, trees and the Truckee river. Truckee river access is less than a couple hundred feet from house. Large lawn area for kids to play on. Great privacy! The home layout is also great. Tahoe Getaways also did a great job with communication and home details. Here comes the But… The bed and pillows are horrible unless you like hard hard spring beds and flat pillows. . The oven also didn't work. The home needs a couple days of minor repair items as well. The pros out weigh the cons so I would stay again.

Beautiful Family Spot

Comfortable home in spectacular setting. Easy layout for families, with everything you need in the kitchen. We have visited Bullshead many times and will be back. We noticed the Internet service is much improved compared to our last visit at the end of 2019 -- Zoom work calls were no problem.

Bullshead Lodge

Really fantastic property with great views and great kitchen. Cannot recommend Tahoe Getaways enough. They do a great job for us every year and know the properties/area well. You cant get this kind of service using the national rental companies.

Incredible Property

This house exceeded all expectations. It was even better than the listing. Our group had an amazing time and would absolutely stay here again. The only difficulty we had was with the oven and even after a technician came out, it never ended up working. Other than that, the place was amazing and I still would recommend to anybody.

The Perfect Family Getaway

Upon arrival we immediately went straight through the back doors to the deck and were awestruck by nature. We thoroughly enjoyed coffee on the deck in the mornings followed by a dip in the Truckee River daily. The chipmunks, hummingbirds, squirrels, snakes, eagles, ducks, and bats kept us entertained. The property was close enough to many hikes and activities but far enough away from the major townships. The property manager was very helpful when we ran into a little setback with the hot tub and grill. We were sad to leave and would highly recommend this property to others!

Bullshead Lodge

The house was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were as well. The oven/stove was a bit of an issue due to the fact we couldn't get it lit. Come to find out, a circuit had blown and that's why the igniters wouldn't work. The bathroom lightening made it challenging to apply makeup. The stone flooring in two of the showers were rough on the feet....too tumbled. With that said, it was a great house and we had a wonderful time.

Gorgeous Riverfront Home

Our group of friends had a fantastic time staying at the Bullshead Lodge. The kitchen was spacious with an inviting open dining area. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all spectacular. Best of all were the sitting areas and views looking out to the river. We spent several days sitting out in the river and watching rafters float by.

Beautiful lodge-like home

We loved this house! We stayed here with another family - a total of 9 people: 4 adults and 5 teenagers. The house is well-stocked, clean and laid out perfectly for a very nice stay. It's right in between Truckee and Tahoe City which made for a perfect location to visit both areas convenient. The views are gorgeous and the decor is tasteful. We all Highly recommend!

Another amazing trip!

Our family had a fantastic stay at Bullshead. We had visited the home many years ago and were happy that it is still top quality. You can't beat the layout and privacy of the spot. Everything is very well equipped and organized for winter fun — sleds, amazing hot tub, unending firewood. We will be back next year!

Outstanding Vacation

Bullshead Lodge is beautifully located, exceptionally spacious and comfortable. The views are awesome, we enjoyed morning coffee on the deck daily. The lawn area is perfect for games and relaxing and the Truckee River is close for fishing or simply enjoying the view. The property management is attentive and helpful and we definitely look forward to returning.

Wonderful experience!

Everything about our experience at Bullshead was absolutely outstanding. The house is ideal for multiple families, the backyard is spectacular and perfect for kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Bullshead Lodge.

The house and it’s surroundings fully met our expectations based on the description and pictures we’d seen. We stayed over Christmas & New Years with our family. Sledding at Pole Creek trailhead was an unexpected bonus, in addition to skiing at Squaw, building snowmen by the Truckee River in the backyard, etc. The home’s furnishings and layout were just right, and we especially enjoyed sitting by the fire in the den. The rental agent was very responsive to all our needs. Our only suggestion would be to improve the oven, which was a little bit problematic, though we were able to make it work okay with some effort. Thanks for a great vacation!!

Beautiful Truckee-Tahoe

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this house based on my fathers needs as he uses a walker. Was told the front/side entrance had two small steps which was fine. Once we entered the house we discovered there were 2 full size steps to get into the main part if the house. There were no hand rails making it extremely difficult for my father to manuever these steps without the assistance of three adults. Otherwise the house was great. FYI the down stairs does tend to be quite a bit cooler from the rest of the house.
