Baileys on the Rocks "Rockledge" Cottage is a private cottage located on a small rock bluff in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin in beautiful Door County. Situated on a wooded lot and directly across the street from Lake Michigan, you'll find it hard to believe you are in the village of Baileys Harbor and within walking distance of its popular beaches, harbor, restaurants and quaint shops.
The cottage was built in 1939 and is 1 story (684 sq ft), with the bathroom and both bedrooms are on the main level. 1 bedroom features a queen sized bed while the other bedroom has a set of twin beds. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room. The bathroom features a tub/shower combo. This charming cottage sits atop the limestone bluff with partial water views and a quaint screened porch.
Guests have full access to the cottage. The cottage is on a shared lot with another cottage, and while both cottages have their own separate outdoor space, we ask that you be respectful of the guests occupying the other cottage.

Excellent Door County Cottage

This is a great little cottage on the edge of Baileys Harbor. A short walk to the downtown amenities and the lake. The property was well maintained and thoughtfully stocked. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan from the porch and fire pit area.

Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Door County. Cottage is perfectly located; watched sun dance on lake, enjoyed small quiet beach a short walk away, and watched terns dive for dinner. Peaceful and restful location!

Quiet Winter Getaway

I spent four (mid Jan.) nights at Rockledge Cottage and had a wonderfully quiet solo getaway. I highly recommend for a couple or young family. The cottage was so cozy and cute, as well as nicely equipped for all of my needs. I spent a lot of time hiking, reading and knitting by the gas fireplace. While Door County is sleepy in the winter, it's my favorite time for going. You'll find plenty to do and a warm cozy respite from winter at Rockledge Cottage.

Great location

The cottage was in an awesome location, just a few steps to the Baileys harbor Main Street and beach. Easy drive to the rest of door county. The cottage was perfect for our small family and well stocked with the essentials and kids toys, books and games. The only con was some machine in the basement that you could hear loud and clear humming while laying in the guest bedroom with the twin beds all night long.

I wish I would have known about this sooner so that we could have tried to rectify the issue right away, but I was able to get our maintenance person on site the day I received your review and he found a bad well pump which will be getting replaced ASAP, so this will not be an issue in the future. Perfect for 4th of July

This property was just perfect for our small family. We were able to enjoy all of the 4th of July celebrations in Bailey's Harbor and local surrounding communities. Cozy, charming, and comfortable. With a short walk down the hill to see the fireworks, walk to town, or have a day at the beach, it was just perfect. Thank you for sharing your Bailey's on the Rocks with us. :-)

Cozy oasis to recharge

Solid wi-fi so we could close out business issues. Nice view of the lake and proximity to town/beach. Washer/dryer would be nice but understand the space limitations. Enjoyed the fire pit numerous nights and really enjoyed hanging out in the screened in porch. Thumbs up from the whole family on our visit.

Great stay despite the rain.

Owner was very responsive when Vrbo app didn’t work properly. Cosy and quiet. Easy walk to restaurants and convenient to rest of Door County. As a senior couple we had everything we needed. There are games and books for kids as well. I entrance is narrow and the two steps were a challenge for me but younger people probably wouldn’t have any issues. As it rained every day, a rug in the entrance would have been helpful. . Hope to stay again.

Great cottage!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights as a weekend getaway. The cottage was just as pictured and even better than described. Communication with Jamie before the trip was excellent and we were easily able to rebook when I got COVID the day before we were originally supposed to arrive. The views of the lake were wonderful and we had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked and the hosts thought of all the little things that might be needed. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in! The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. It was also walking distance to several places to eat or grab a drink. All in all would stay here again and definitely recommend it.

Loved This Cottage!

Initially I was disappointed that we wouldn't be on the bay side for our first trip to Door County. But I would happily choose Bailey's Harbor and Rockledge Cottage again. The town was so quaint and convenient to walk to with great food choices. Two of our favorite attractions were nearby - The Ridges and the Cana Lighthouse. We took the guided tour at the Ridges and learned so much. The cottage itself was perfect - clean, well stocked and charming. Sitting on the screened porch with our breakfast in the morning, looking at the water was the best way to start the day! Lastly, Jamie was a perfect host, accessible, informative, very organized and friendly. Thank you Jamie!

Cute Cottage

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Check in and Check out were very easy. The cottage was exactly as the pictures show. We were very pleased that it was well stocked with things such as paper towels/TP, garbage bags, shower soap. We were there in the summer and it was actually a bit cool our first night but not enough to turn on the heat. It would have been nice if there were extra blankets as there was just a very thin summer quilt. Upon arrival there was a bit of a musty smell but once we were going in and out it seems to dissipate. We had a lovely time around the fire pit each night and really enjoyed being to walk to town for a bite at one of the many food choices. I would recommend this cottage though for us it was a dash small but not a deal breaker. I escaped for some peace and quite on the screened in porch each morning which was a bonus.

I apologize that you weren’t able to find the extra blankets in the living room (on the chair and in the coffee table) or in the bedroom closets, but thank you for mentioning this, I’ve since added more descriptions in my guidebook as to where to find blankets. Also, regarding the musty smell, this is a historic cottage and although we keep it very well maintained, we did notice that the dehumidifier in the basement was not working properly when we got on site after your departure, so that was likely what you noticed when you first entered the cottage. I’m sorry I never heard about these items until now, however in the future, please know that I’m always available to contact for anything to make your stay more pleasant.

Sweet accommodations in a perfect spot

We had a wonderful 3-day getaway at the Rockledge Cottage in Baileys Harbor, just a short walk into town. The cottage itself was very cozy — comfortable furniture (bed included!), gas fireplace and a nice shower. The kitchen had all the gadgets and most supplies that a kitchen needs. The outdoor spaces are wonderful — screen porch and fire pit and barbecue area (fire pit has a wonderful swing-away grill top, or there's also a Weber charcoal BBQ available) — complete with comfortable and ample seating. There's a nice view down to the lake, and we were fortunate enough to see the Hunter's Moon rise last Monday evening, right in the exact spot through which you can see the lake through the clearing. All in all, a truly great time.

Perfect cottage in Bailey’s Harbor

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful cottage. We loved that you could walk to town but it was still quiet enough to hear the waves at night! Perfectly decorated, gorgeous kitchen with everything you need to cook at home. Loved the fire pit under the stars! We would stay here again!
