We loved our stay at this cabin. Very relaxing, beautiful views, very clean, had everything we needed. Loved watching all of the deer. Looking forward to another stay!
We had a great time here. Itâs close to Abingdon, Damascus, and the Creeper Trail. My wife went down and had a wonderful time kayaking on the water with her kayak. The kitchen had everything we needed and the Blackstone was a hit with the kids for multiple meals. Looking forward to returning!
We loved our stay! We came in town for a wedding and stayed 4 adults and 2 kids and it was great. The game room was popular with the kids! The host was very responsive and helpful!
There were seven of us staying at this cabin. The location was wonderful. The layout was great. The slide kept our little kids happy all day. The only small issues we had were the tub not draining in the washing machine not working. Again, small issues that didnât affect our stay much at all. we would come back in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed our time at the Stargazer. It's an adorable, cozy A-frame. The location was beautiful, and the house was very clean. Our kids enjoyed the game room downstairs, and us adults enjoyed the deck.
Excellent overall. Power in the area went off, not the fault of the stargazer property. However, when power was restored, we were unable to locate the modem in order to restore Internet service. Not a major issue, but somewhat irritating. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay at stargazer, and would recommend it to others.
If you are looking for rest, relaxation, and a beautiful setting this home will not disappoint. We loved our vacation and much of the reason was this great place. The deck was amazing! The owner was great too!
This was our second stay at the Stargazer. We really enjoyed the access to the river, our dog loved it. When the sky cleared at night, the name Stargazer was appropriate. We could see thousands of stars and the Milky Way. We hope to return soon.
What a gem! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the deck, watching the deer and scenery. Itâs a peaceful retreat in a quiet neighborhood thatâs still so close to many activities and restaurants. I felt like I was staying at a friendâs home with the wide assortment of games, comfortable beds and other thoughtful touches.
We booked this fun, unique cabin to ride the creeper trail. The kids loved seeing groups of deer out in the morning and playing on the slide and swing. The fire pit on the deck and a gorgeous view were unbeatable. The house had plenty of space for our family of 5.
Perfect house for bike rides on the VA Creeper Trail
My husband and I and our six year old son enjoyed three nights at this beautiful lake view country home. The VA Creeper trail was just under a 15 minute drive to several of the trail parking lots. We also took a quick 35 minute drive to Bristol, TN to visit the Bristol caverns and to ride our bikes at Steele Creek State Park. We also drove to Hungry Mother State Park and did some awesome mountain biking around their lake. The views from the back porch are absolutely breathtaking. The house is very clean and has everything you could think of that you would need for a comfortable visit. Melissa, the owner, was easily accessible and gave us wonderful recommendations for our biking interests and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous home. Highly recommend this home.
This cabin was just perfect for our weekend getaway! It's cozy and has so many nice perks. The view from the deck is gorgeous, and Melissa is a phenomenal host. She provided dinner recommendations and was very communicative. This is a great location for the Creeper Trail. We hope to be back in the future!
We really enjoyed all the extra details put into this cabin. We wished we had a longer stay to use more of the amenities, such as the grill. The outside firepit was great! Wonderful views from the deck and the cabin is aptly named as the stars were numerous to look at. We enjoyed the nearby state parks and VA Creeper trail. There were many activities we still wished to try in the area and hope to be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed this cabin stay with our 5 grandsons. Plenty of sleeping room and a great basement for the kids to have their own space! The neighborhood was so peaceful and full of deer that we were able to see daily. We enjoyed riding the Virginia Creeper trail not a far drive from the cabin for renting bikes and the riding adventure. Iâm sure our grandsons will choose to stay here again in a heartbeat!
will
Very clean not even cobwebs on the high ceilings! Cozy but spacious. The stairs to the loft bedroom are so neat. Decorated very well. The large new deck has great views of Mtns/lake. We got to hear rain on the metal roof and see lightning bugs in the trees. Host was a fantastic communicator. There is a great list of things to do in the area on the fridge. 3 adults stayed comfortably with our own rooms and there is 2 living rooms. Definitely 5 stars worthy!!
This was our first trip to southwest Virginia to explore the state parks in the area as well as downtown Abingdon. This was the perfect location, the house was great, and owner had excellent communication. Our young kids loved the bunk beds, SLIDE!, and all of the games/puzzles at the house. We enjoyed the fire pit, well stocked panty, and so many other nice touches. The only thing Iâll note that as someone who is 6â 8â, there are some low areas like kitchen, upstairs shower, and stairs. Literally the only thing I could think of but I bump my head all of the time anyway!
Itâs hard to put into words just how satisfied we were with the property. let me just start by saying my wife cried when it was time to leave. Our bed was very comfortable, and the deck was very inviting and offered beautiful vistas of the river as well as the surrounding mountains. We had other family rent the house down the hill and our kids really enjoyed running back-and-forth between the two. we brought our boat and took advantage of the boat launch in the subdivision, which was very nice. We are in a quieter part of the river so fishing was ideal and we found many good spots. The area is very family-friendly and the week we were there things were not very busy so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. I would definitely recommend and appreciate the hospitality.
We loved our stay! It was very close to the Watauga trailhead which was a perfect ride for our kids (5, 7, 10) to Abingdon one day and Alvarado Station another. We all enjoyed the available games and the views were amazing! Kids loved the slide. House was clean, well appointed. Melissa responded to our questions immediately and was so helpful in planning our trip! 10/10 recommend this place!
