Birch Bay is a cute seaside town in North Western Washington. It boasts a large sandy tide flat of several square miles as the tide returns to shore the water warms in the summer. It is the perfect place for a summer vacation.
It has large heron nesting areas, a state park at the south end and outstanding birding and sightseeing throughout the year. Birch Bay is classed by the Audubon Society as one of 50 Important Birding Areas (IBA's) in Washington State, along with nearby Blaineâs Drayton Harbor.
Birch Bay has a rich history that goes back thousands of years, and in fact Captain George Vancouver in the Discovery on his Expedition in 1792 landed on Cottonwood Beach with his fellows including Peter Puget (Sound), Joseph Whidbey ( Island) & Joseph Baker (Mt). Factual legend has it that Captain Vancouver stopped in Birch Bay during 1792 Expedition and the Admiralty used the Black Birch Trees to brew beer, a common staple on the long voyage- they named Birch Bay after the same tree.
The home is not child-proofed - there are no covers on the outlets, or locks on cabinets containing cleaning products, etc. You are responsible for taking precautions to keep your children safe.
The property is near a road and a creek and is not fenced, please keep your children within sight distance.
In respect of our neighbors we ask for quiet time between 10pm and 8am. Please note that noise travels easily and far around water.
Our good neighbor policy is in the documents we send prior to your arrival. Read and adhere to them.
