Come relax at the Paddle Inn on all sports Thompson Lake. Connected to the lake by backyard canal. Neighborhood swans routinely swim by and nest in the yard. Fishing is great, kayaks available. New Blackstone grill out back. Relax and enjoy Lake Thompson, while still being close to downtown Howell.

Close to vibrant restaurants and cafes in downtown Howell, well known for festivals, food trucks, Sunday farmers market, Tanger Outlet Mall. Parks, trails & skiing nearby, including Scofield Park. Community events and festivals in town are year round. This area always has something fun to do!

Clean, comfortable and convenient

Really nice layout inside the house, was perfect for us. We had a busy weekend planned, and so we didn’t have time to spend outdoors. The house was clean, comfortable. Beds were great!

Neighborhood peaceful. Love backyard to sit outside. We seen lots of different wildlife. Enjoyed the spacious house. My son enjoyed the fact he had a TV in his room and the choices he had on the TV. We enjoyed the spacious living room. We had everything in the spacious kitchen to cook our meals. The bathrooms were spacious and had everything we needed. Even had a great washer and dryer. The only thing was the ceiling fan in living room was not working. We really enjoyed this house and made our vacation very enjoyable. We will be staying here again.

Great Family Weekend

We were in town meeting family for a wedding and this was the perfect home base. It is close to many stores and restaurants and by the lake, yet it is on a very quiet cul de sac. The layout is wonderful, you never feel crowded, with two living areas one downstairs and one upstairs to use. The interior is updated, very relaxing and extremely clean. The host was so friendly and even warned us when there was going to be bad weather coming in one night. We enjoyed kayaking down the canal to the lake more than once. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we’re in the area!

Perfect Location for Ann Arbor

Stayed here for a game at the University of Michigan. Perfect location away from all the chaos; beautiful, idyllic location with the lake and relaxed feel. Fantastic house, fantastic host, will stay again if I'm back in the area.

Paddle Inn exceeded our expectations. This was a beautiful place to stay and perfect location. The host was in touch. The house had everything we needed and more. It was clean, cute and cozy! We hope to return next year!

Spacious, great location

We enjoyed our time in this house. Each day we commuted to Ann Arbor for sporting events for our kids. It contained all the amenities for our stay. There are separate living areas. I used the loft space upstairs as a workspace. The kitchen was well stocked, we used the grill, coffee maker and washer and dryer. We had 4 teens with us and there was plenty of room. One of the bedrooms had bunkbeds, a trundle bed and an air mattress. The kids made use of the kayaks and the location provided easy access to Thompson Lake. The Neighborhood is quiet and perfect for morning runs. We referred to this house as our retreat and would highly recommend this location. The host communicated with us and the directions were easy to follow.

Sweet spot in Howell

What a sweet find right in Howell. Quiet location at end of culdesac. Perfect for our family gathering. Very clean, smartly decorated and well stocked with basic necessities. Host was very responsive.

Beautiful home.

Love the property! Ample space for the whole family to spread out. Hostess was very quick to respond, and very accommodating. We will recommend this home to all of our friends. Great location quietness nestled in the heart of everything.

Thankful for a thanksgiving home!

Stayed for 4 nights and cooked a turkey dinner for our family. This place was impeccably clean and stocked. It has everything we needed. Comfortable beds? Check. Multiple spaces to hang out? Check! Potato masher? Double check! It was cozy, especially once the snow began to fall.

Wonderful stay

Had another property booked and they cancelled 3 days before our family was to arrive for a wedding. Host was awesome. She was so responsive. Got us booked immediately and was so communicative during the stay. House is so nice and provided all the amenities. Could not ask for better. I highly recommend.

Nieces graduation

My husband myself my brother and sister in law stayed her for our nieces graduation from Michigan State. The house was perfect for us to all gather in great neighborhood and town. The downtown shops and farmers market were my favorite! Communication with Melinda was prompt and she checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Great spot!

My two young daughters (8 & 11) and I loved the house. It's tucked away in a small neighborhood right next to downtown Howell, nice and quiet on an inlet to the nearby lake, with everything you would want within 5-10 minutes (groceries, restaurants, pharmacy, etc.). The house is perfectly stocked in the kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms which was nice, and the host was very gracious and responsive. The house itself was the perfect size for us but could've held a few more people easily. It had great light, good internet, and a fun little upstairs nook to play games and work. We loved it and will definitely be back!

Exceeded all expectations

The property is clean and all brand new. All the decorating touches were beautiful. The owners paid every attention to detail. Fresh coffee in the cabinets, blow dryers in each bathroom, cozy throw pillows and more. Four girlfriends for the weekend with comfy beds and lots of space to spend together in all sections of the house. Easy and quick communication with the owners. We can not say enough about the property, the experience and the space. Thank you! We will be back for another girls weekend.

I'm an interior architect/designer by trade. I've designed all of my properties to have a beautiful and unique design aesthetic that embraces minimalism and comfort. High end furniture and textural accessories make my properties a step above the rest.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The Paddle Inn is on the canal of Lake Thompson and situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. It's tucked away in a residential area, but very close to the 96 business loop and historic downtown Howell. It's a nice retreat on the water that has amazing restaurants, pubs, and shopping close by.

Lake Thompson is know for great fishing. Connect to the lake from the back yard. We have 2 fishing kayaks and are close by the public boat launch. Amazing winter and summer recreation activities close by- Howell Nature Center, Lakelands Trail State Park, Pinckney Recreation Area, Mt Brighton, Island Lake Recreation Area, Kensington Metropark.

Downtown Howell is a historic district known for excellent restaurants, pubs, bakeries and shopping. The Sunday Farmer's Market showcases the best in the area during the warmer months. The market moves inside during the winter at the Howell Opera House. Outlet shopping is close by at the Tanger Outlet Mall.
