Serene sanctuary filled with natural light. This home has a spacious deck and impressive views of Earl Lake - perfect for relaxing, drinking a cup of coffee or tea or a glass of wine, and taking in the Michigan sunrises and sunsets. Easy access to historic downtown Howell and Brighton.

Enjoy the shaded courtyard, while sipping coffee and reading a book. Perfect for a secluded spot while enjoying the chiminea.

Relax on the sectional seating in the gazebo, lounge in the seating of the backyard.

Don’t miss the morning news or a sport’s game on the outdoor tv while enjoying the deck area. Peaceful and relaxing home with plenty of room to stretch out. Basement finished for extra space to unwind, kids movies & games will keep them busy. Enjoy a friendly game of cornhole or connect four under the pergola or roast some s’mores over a fire. Outdoor flat top grill is ready to cook up breakfast, lunch or dinner. Lightweight fencing in the backyard to contain furry guests. Ice fishing available during winter months. Ice skating also a plus for those snowy days.

Restaurants, Breweries, Winery, Golf Course, Downtown/Outlet shopping, public beach and small ski hill all within minutes. A visit to historic Bronner’s is just an hour away. Metro parks splash pad/beach is just 30 minutes away.

Kayaks and paddle boards are available for a quiet paddle across the quiet all sports lake. Paddle boat and row boat steps from the back yard. (Beach access is two lots down.) Park area behind home is perfect for a game of frisbee or tossing a ball.

Wow! Stunning

Wow! What a perfect property! Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on a lake, there is a ton of outdoor space to enjoy. From the pergola to fire pit to kayaks, the outdoor space cannot be beat. Inside, the home is incredibly well appointed. The owners thought of every last detail to make our stay perfect. Comfortable furniture and beds alongside a stunning design. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, we discovered the finished lower flower with endless games including darts, billiards, and even an arcade game. One of the absolute best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. Owners were super responsive. We will be back!

Perfect getaway!!

Perfect getaway for a girls weekend. Tons of shopping and restaurants nearby, the house is absolutely amazing! Beautifully decorated, lots of games and puzzles and amenities included! The scenery and neighborhood are so peaceful! Dawn was wonderful and we will definitely be back!

Amazing family-friendly getaway!

Absolutely wowed by this vacation home! Visiting from Chicago with two little ones and our dogs is a lot of work and Dawn and Tim made it so easy and seamless for us to enjoy our trip. They went above and beyond to not only equip the home with things we might need for the day to day with our 2 year old and our infant, they went so far as to surprise us with extra goodies for ourselves and our kids. Not to mention how incredibly adorable the place was decorated for Christmas and how easy it was to check in and check out, plus being able to communicate any questions to Dawn and Tim. We will absolutely be back! Totally loved this place!

Always wonderful

I have stayed here multiple times now and every time is an excellent experience. My company has had me stay in Howell for the greater part of two months and I always try to stay at the Firefly Inn. The home is comfortable & relaxing and the owners are thoughtful and quick to communicate. I can not recommend this property enough.

The jaw-dropping Dragonfly Inn

This is an amazing property that looks like a professional decorator decorated inside and out. The decorations are awesome and the thoughtful touches are too numerous to mention. This home is on a pretty lake and there are fishing poles, worms, a paddle boat, many outdoor sitting areas and fenced in area for the pooch. The kitchen is stocked and the basement has toys for kids and adults. Best place to stay around Howell, MI.

This was an immaculate property, and we would love to see it during flowering time. We were made to feel very welcome and were so pleased with the personal touch of the property. The hosts left many extras for us, and we were delighted with the warmth of the decorations in the house.

Most Welcoming Place We’ve Ever Stayed

First, the host welcome gifts were wonderful and catered to us. Far above anywhere else we’ve stayed before. We really enjoyed the coffee bar and snacks. The whole property is decorated beautifully and made to be cozy. The outdoor covered patio with the TV was a great place to kick back and watch football while also watching our older teens enjoy the fishing row boat, paddle boat and kayaks. The teens also enjoyed the basement games. We hiked at the Brighton Recreation area and did some shopping at the Tanger Outlets, but we mainly enjoyed just relaxing at the house. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful Experience!

We had a reunion of sorts to see a friend’s wedding and we needed a place to gather and catch up. This was one of the best Vrbo experiences I have had and I travel often. Location was quiet but convenient to what we needed. The thoughtfulness of the host was way above board! We had a welcome gift basket, food, champagne and water by the nightstands! Totally unexpected. :) The outdoor area was wonderful as well. We truly loved this stay and already decided to plan this again for next year! Highly recommend!

Exceeded all expectations

We couldn’t have asked for more. The hosts were more than accommodating. We were truly wowed with all the extras. A dog crate, bed and welcome basket was provided for our dog. Also a great place to stay with a toddler with a toy chest full of toys. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need and more. By far the best VRBO we have stayed in.

A truly amazing place!

I can't rave about Dragonfly Cottage at the Lake enough to do it justice. It's beautiful - very well decorated inside and outside. Outstanding communication with the hosts. They live close to the cottage and are very responsive with information and suggestions. You can tell they have put a great deal of love and caring into the place. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, recreation room, cooking out, sitting around an open fire (or the gas fireplace in the living room and the one on the front patio). Honestly, they have thought of EVERYTHING to make your stay outstanding. In fact, our family has already reserved the cottage for a week next summer (it was a 100% vote to visit again soon). One added plus - it is close to stores, restaurants, etc.

Perfection with every detail

This was truly one of the most cozy and comfortable homes to stay in, every detail was thought of from the amount of blankets and towels to every thing needed to cook dinner from scratch. The mattresses are dreamy and serenity created with all of the outdoor comforts and decor. We even arrived late at night and they left us snacks and cinnamon rolls from a bakery to quickly heat up in the morning, They responded quickly to questions and checked periodically for questions with gadgets. Lastly, they left toys for both our dogs and kids and even checked on the size of our dogs to have an appropriate bed size for them. I would recommend this property to any e and will definitely co e back ourselves!

Family vacation

We had an amazing family vacation here. I cannot express how perfect this home is. They have thought and provided everything. Welcome basket for us and our dogs were a welcome surprise. All the outdoor activities (paddle boards, kayaks, and small boat) were amazing. Kids loved fishing off the dock. The host were easy to reach and quick to respond. We will be staying here again in the future!!

Best home we've rented yet!

Our family of 5 stayed at Dragonfly cottage for a weekend in October. Dawn is a gracious host, quick to respond, and is very intentional providing a relaxing, comfortable 'at home' stay - regardless of how long you stay for! The cottage had everything we needed, and even the things we didn’t know we needed. Super clean, spacious, and filled with many ways to entertain the family. We’ve rented many homes over the last 13 years, and everyone in the family commented "this is the best one we’ve ever rented - hands down". Next time we come to this area, Dragonfly Cottage is the place we want to stay! Thanks, Dawn!

Fantastic stay!

A comfortable and beautiful property! The game room downstairs was perfect for my teens and we enjoyed a relaxing weeknd playing games and watching football. The host has provided so many amenities I can't even list them all! We hope to return in warmer weather to take advantage of the lake activities.

The most magical rainy weekend!

We had a lovely stay at the Dragonfly Cottage. The hosts were quick to communicated and literally thought of EVERYTHING you could ever need while staying there. The only disappointing part of our stay was that it rained most of the time we were there so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors area as much as we would have liked as it was a gorgeous setting. But it was okay because we had so much fun playing darts and games in the refinished basement. The pictures really don't do this place justice. The beds were comfortable and I honestly cannot say enough about this property. We will likely be back.

Such a wonderful experience

We travelled 9 states across the USA and our family keeps talking about how wonderful this home is. The hosts were unbelievably welcoming and the house, views and surrounding evironment is superb. There is just so much to do at the house we didn't want to leave. Super clean, warm and friendly we couldn't fault it. We will be back.

Above and beyond

We only live an hour away but needed to be away. This lake house was just terrific. So many options there to spend your time. There are multiple beautiful spaces surrounding the house for peaceful leisure or entertaining. The inside was very well appointed and many unnecessary accomodations were made to enhance our stay. The bedrooms were all well appointed. The living area was a comfortable space to gather the family and watch a movie (made possible by all the streaming options available.) The basement had a number of activities to occupy yourself or friends with. Definitely a great experience and absolutely above and beyond expectations!

Delighted with Dragonfly

As soon as I saw the pictures of this cottage, I knew that I wanted to stay there! We come to the area every summer to visit family and friends, and have stayed in a variety of places over the years. We have never had a bad experience, but Dragonfly Cottage is in a class by itself for charm! Dawn and Tim responded quickly to any questions that we had, and there were so many little extras that really make it special. The kitchen has absolutely everything that you could possibly need to make a meal, and there are multiple outdoor areas to enjoy. I really liked the sound machine in the bedroom, because I always use one at home, and have never seen one in any of the other places we have stayed. It is obvious that they have really put a lot of thought and caring into making their guests feel welcome, and at home. I highly recommend it, and would definitely stay again!
