This cabin is the perfect base for all your southern IL adventures. In less than 5 minutes you can indulge in the area wineries, hike Giant City Stat Park or the Shawnee National Forest, hunt, fish, visit SIU, or just relax. This is the perfect base for all of your adventures in beautiful Southern IL.

Located on a 4 acre property with several other cabins, this cabin feels private and has beautiful ad relaxing scenery. While small it has all the necessities to Sleep, eat, cook, grill, and relax!

We had such a wonderful stay. It was the most peaceful, perfect get away. We went to wineries, hiked, and swam in Cedar Lake! The cabin was in the perfect location so we were close to everything!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean, quiet and a comfortable space for 2 people. Check-in & out was easy, the place was well stocked, and the wi-fi was reliable. We appreciated the snacks, coffee, and creamer. The cabin is a duplex. Other cabins are nearby, but it was still peaceful and had a pretty view of tall trees. It was hot out, but the central a/c worked great. There was a table and 2 chairs on the deck, which was nice in the early evening when it cooled down a little. The location is only about 10 minutes to Giant City State Park, Carbondale, and Poplar Camp Beach at Cedar Lake (small charge but looked nice). Steve was very communicative, and we appreciate getting to stay here!

Perfect location and cozy place

Great location off of route 51 that gets you to all the fun on the wine trail and allows you get to a bunch of different stuff to do outdoor. Enjoyed our stay 4th of July Weekend 2025!

A very simple cabin in a great spot for those heading to Cedar Lake, or other area lakes, hikes, or adventures. Though the cabin is a bit dated, and worn from years of travelers passing through, it functioned perfectly for me on my short stay.

The cabin was exactly as advertised. The host answered all the questions I had and helped find some local spots. Lots of little perks in the cabin like good coffee and a bag of popcorn. It was a quiet, secluded spot to relax.

Absolutely amazing

I would definitely recommend this cabin for all events and all gatherings it's cozy, beautiful property, clean and I felt like home... we came Illinois to visit our grandkids we brought them to the property they had a great time we were able to go see Giant City Park we had a wonderful time 10 out of 10 five stars will be staying again next time.

Awesome Experience

I really enjoyed my stay. I came to spend some time with my daughter who goes to SIU. It was nice, quiet, and had the great charm. It is a cabin so it is rustic but that was the charm of the cabin. The bed was great, we were able to cook and relax like the comforts of home. The wifi had an issue and needed to be reset and the host was very prompt on fixing the issue. He was available! I will definitely stay here again when I visit my daughter!

Perfect cabin and location for our Shawnee Forest Hiking trip

This cabin was the perfect home base for my son and me during his college Spring Break/our hiking trip to the Shawnee forest. During our stay, we enjoyed hiking and exploring the Panther’s Den, Ferne Clyffe State Park (especially Bork Falls), Giant City State Park, the Pomona Natural Bridge, the Little Grand Canyon, as well as kayaking with Cache Bayou Outfitters and visiting Blue Sky’s Vineyard. The cabin had everything we needed and lots of extra thoughtful touches too. It's in a nice surrounding, located next to a golf course, which is lovely. Steve was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend it.

Lovely!

This cabin was comfortable and cozy. The deck provided a perfect view of the stars in a quiet location. Just a few minutes from a number of hiking trails. The host was very responsive and so accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much!!

Perfect getaway

The cabin was perfect for my husband and I and our dog for our 4 night get away. Had everything we needed. Steve was great in helping us get the gas fireplace started as we were unfamiliar with how to operate it. He had someone stop by and start the pilot light while we were gone so that when we got home we just had to turn it on. Made the evening and the next morning so cozy!
