Breakfast is breathtaking with an unobstructed view of the Columbia River and Columbia River Bar (Ocean), and Baker Bay. Since all bedrooms have water views, you can wake up to sunrise over the water as ships come in an out over the Bar. Upstairs is a good get-away for you to read and rest, or for the kids to do their thing. Watch the sun go down and the ships cross the Bar. Storm watching on the water is a fantastic experience. Then, off to Astoria or Long Beach for the day or the backyard beach. Use the boat slip. EV level-2 charging onsite.

Beautiful

This place is a treasure. The views are spectacular and the architecture unique and elevated. A wonderful place to stay. The tidal fluctuations, the full moon on the water, a beautiful fire just at the waters edge— this place is elemental and totally family friendly for all ages. The outside is inside and it makes the house a destination onto itself even as it is perfectly situated to explore the magnificent surrounds. Highly recommend and would love to return.

Incredible views!

This house is very well appointed and very comfortable - the view rocks! A group of 8 friends celebrated an early thanksgiving and we had everything we needed in the kitchen for our meal. The host is very responsive and was helpful in arranging extra bedding for us. A great stay, we hope to be back someday!

Amazing Location

We loved our stay. The location was great just on the boarded of Oregon and Washington. Lots to do within an hour drive. Chris was a great host very clear communication and fast response. Highly recommend this property and hope to be back again soon.

This place was pretty incredible, we had zero complaints as a party of 4 coworkers staying here. Being right on the river and watching the sun set nightly was fantastic. The place overall was clean, neat, and in good shape.

Great!

Excellent location and one of the most beautiful places we have stayed. The kitchen was missing a few things like a rolling pin, but it was quite well stocked with spices, pots and pans, and other kitchen implements.

Perfect spot to celebrate with family!

We stayed for three nights with our kiddos, my mother, and her siblings (my aunts/uncles) to celebrate what would have been my grandfathers 100th birthday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better house! It was clean, spacious, had all the amenities we needed and many bonus features

Chinook River House

This was a fantastic property to stay at. There was lots of room for the 9 of us. Great separation of space and lots of amenities. The kitchen was well stocked and even had some snacks for us. The owner was very easy to communicate with and cared about us as his guests. The view is incredible. Every living area and every bedroom had incredible river, ocean and lighthouse views. We saw eagles, herons, bufflehead ducks, kingfishers and sea lions from the deck. We used the gas BBQ grill and the fire pit (wood and kindling provided). We enjoyed both fireplaces, foosball and lots of great games. We had excellent access to Cape Disappointment, Fort Columbia, Long Beach and Astoria. We definitely plan to return.

Beautiful and perfect location

This house provided a perfect location for our group of 6 for two nights. We really enjoyed the fire pit in the back yard along with the breathtaking views from really every room in the house. Very peaceful. The property owner was a great communicator and the house has everything you need in east to access locations.

Chinook!!

Spectacular, this place is very comfortable well taken care of and just awesome! We enjoyed our stay even with some rough weather. When we did get outside it was beyond our expectations. Host was always available when we had questions or needs. Best Vrbo we have stayed in. Highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful family get together.

The property is conveniently located to Astoria and Long Beach yet when you’re on the property it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere! Absolutely beautiful views. The house is in great shape and the hosts have thought of everything you might need for your stay. Chris was amazing to communicate with and his host guide helped with all the little things. We hope to stay here again! (We had a few kids under 3 and it was great for them too!)

A Great Place Stormy or Sunny

Stepping through the front door you may be overwhelmed with the breathtaking river and ocean view that greets you. Once you manage to tear your eyes from that exceptional view, you see a comfortable and tasteful interior with more than enough cozy seating/lounging for a large family or group. The well appointed house contained all the amenities and necessities our thoughtful host provided, well beyond what you might expect.

Fabulous! Simply fabulous!

From the photos, we were excited and boy they did not disappoint! Beautiful views, comfortable beds, everything nicely labeled (nice touch). Great deck, a bbq that was clean and worked well, deck chairs and excellent communication with host Chris. this was a work retreat/ fishing trip for our gang and we hosted several customers for dinner out in the deck. We will be coming back!

THE place to stay!

We feel so fortunate to have found this special property and can’t wait to go back! The home is warm and inviting and was perfectly set up to welcome us when we arrived - but the VIEW…is even better than advertised…we saw lots of birds from the windows and two bald eagles flew into the back yard on our last morning there. The house is well stocked, and the host, Chris, was great to work with and was very quick to respond when we had questions - beds were comfortable, as was the furniture - there is a nice gas grill and a hammock to spend your afternoon in, and watching the sunsets there was so peaceful - The community of Chinook is quiet and and is only 10 minutes away from Astoria - folks were friendly, and Chinook Coffee is a nice spot to grab some snacks, smoothies and coffee - We have been renting 2-3 vacation homes each year for over 20 years, and this one is our favorite for sure! Thanks for making this stay

AWESOME PLACE

We had a sibling and spouses reunion. All of us older adults and we had a wonderful time. The house is close enough to Astoria to visit and far enough to not be on tourist overload. We went on day trips and hung out chatting, walking, playing games, cooking and just being together. Next time... I'll take the grandkids! Our hosts were responsive, kind, and prompt to answer qustions. There is the shower in the upstairs bathroom that needs fixing. But, who cares... there are two other showers and the upstairs tub is perfect for the kids. THANK YOU FOR A LOVELY SIBLING REUNION!

Beautiful Home with an Outstanding View of the River

We will definitely return to this house. It is a beautiful, very comfortable home with a breathtaking view of the Columbia River. We were able to view large ships and fishing boats on the river along with a variety of wildlife. The owner thoughtfully included many extras: coffee plus K-cups, snacks on the kitchen counter, and water to drink. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. The two living areas provided plenty of space for us to spread out. We were blessed with great weather and were able to enjoy the outdoor deck overlooking the river. Chris responded so quickly when we had a question. He is an excellent host!

Picture Perfect

Our second year of gathering on the western coast of Washington to celebrate childhood friendships of over 40 years. We gather together to celebrate the experience of growing up in the PNW/Puget Sound area. Our first year was amazing including a wonderful property in the Long Beach area. After it was all over we didn’t think we could exceed the experience but this lovely property did just that! The owner is a pleasure to work with and the home is just as advertised as much as possible. The “frosting on the cake” was the natural warmth and inviting aura that surrounds this home! Absolutely priceless! Don’t waste a moment looking for something better! If you are planning a trip to the Long Beach, WA/Astoria, OR area… you won’t be disappointed!

Perfect for a small wedding!

We had an absolutely amazing 3 days at this beautiful home! We had been looking for a place to have a small wedding somewhere on the coast, this was literally the only home that we could find that would allow such an event. Lucky for us, it turned out to be perfect!. We had the wedding ceremony outdoors on the patio, which later in the day became the dance floor. We set up tables and chairs in the beautiful yard which provided a perfect view of the water which was mesmerizing. The house itself was great as well, there was plenty of room for guests to mingle in different areas, we never felt crowded. There is also plenty of room for parking. Out guests kept asking us how we found such a perfect event space! Chris, the owner, was very easy to work with, he was very responsive to our questions and concerns. We are already talking about returning for a family vacation!

Peaceful location and house

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location. The house was very clean and ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen is well organized and stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals in if we wanted to do so. Hosts had left treats and snacks for us on the counter which is such a nice welcoming touch. We enjoyed the deck each morning and evening. Bird watching was great. We even had bald eagles hanging out in the trees above the house every day. This location feels remote but is close to national parks and attractions, restaurants and stores. The hosts are easy to communicate with whenever needed. There are three bathrooms but only one had a working shower at this time as the upstairs bathroom is undergoing a renovation and the other was very difficult to regulate the hot water; but there are tubs if one doesn't mind a bath. However, this was a minor inconvenience and I'm sure future travelers will find this resolved. Should I return to this location, I would definitely check for availability of this house.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Our home has unbelievable views (ocean, river, bay, mountains, sunsets, sunrises, Bald Eagles). It is close to location Astoria, Ilwaco, Long Beach, on 2 very private acres on the water and off the road with ~380 feet of water front. Great for family gatherings (large house, large yard, and a county park 1/8 mile to the South. The home is warm, cozy, large enough to get lost in and read, and small enough for coffee time around the fireplace.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

63 ft from the water. You get to experience both high tide (up to the rocks) and low tide (1/4 mile of sand). Winter storms are wonderful to experience sitting in the breakfast nook with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. The marina is 1/2 mile up the road where you can dock your boat during your stay. Fish for salmon or go crabbing without having to travel.
