Relax in this peaceful cabin located on a 30 acre farm with picturesque views of the woods and farmland. Close to all the quaint river town of Grafton, IL has to offer, but removed from the crowds and the cars and the noise. You can spend your days discovering the shops, wineries, restaurants or local hunt clubs, while spending your nights stargazing or building a fire and eating s'mores. You can stay as busy, or not, as you'd like. It's truly the best of both worlds!

This cabin was just what my husband and I were looking for — restful and peaceful. It’s beautifully decorated with such thoughtful touches, like a sound machine in the loft bedroom. We loved the screened-in porch and the two Great Pyrenees and goats in the barnyard across the way — we made sure to pet them each day! When it came time to leave, we did so reluctantly. And that’s a sign of a wonderful property with lovely hosts like Melissa and Jeff. Thanks to both of them for sharing their beautiful location with us!

Beautiful area, cabin was very nice and cozy.

It has been a hot minute since my family has taken a vacation. We just wanted a quick get away. This cabin only was about and hr and a half away. Advertising on Vrbo for the B&B cabin were very clear, had great reviews. We really enjiyed this peaceful experience.

21st celebration

This was a wonderful place to stay for my birthday; the cabin was so beautiful. the animals were just so sweet and made the experience even better. we explored st. louis and had a blast at the shark bar which wasn’t anymore than an hour drive from the cabin. we really loved the place and the screened in back porch has our hearts getting to watch the sunset was just breathtaking.

We are five moms, one of whom turned 50! We wanted to run away for 24 hours and drink wine and laugh! This place was perfect for that! Friendly, fantastic farm animal friends and a cozy, charming, and secluded cabin with a magical screened-in porch!

Beautiful cabin on a peaceful farm

my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, the cabin was spotless, the property is lovely, and the animals are wonderful. We spent a lot of time exploring the region. We loved going to the great river road, exploring, Grafton, and Alton, and finding great food nearby.

Quiet and comfy with beautiful scenery. While my husband was hunting, my dog and I turned on the fireplace, read fiction, put jigsaw puzzles together, and enjoyed the peace.

HQ for Paintball Weekend Staging

Lazy Oak Retreat is an awesome VRBO Property. The location as my Staging HQ was perfect. The Lazy Oak is well maintained and fully equipped. Melissa/Jeff Jones (Owners) are both helpful and friendly. Added bonus, being on a working farm - it was a hoot to watch the goats, sheep, cows, donkeys and dogs frolicking in the barn yard. BUT (Behold the Underlying TRUTH {John 14:6}) Very Peaceful and Quiet…..I’d gladly come back and stay here again

Fabulous farm life!

The cabin, and it’s setting, was just what the doctor ordered! My teenage daughter and I wanted to escape for some peace and quiet. This place fit our needs exactly! We stayed for 3 nights in the midst of a crazy heatwave. Needless to say, we didn’t explore the farm in 111 degree heat, but we were very thankful for good AC, and a fabulous host! It was so completely quiet with only animal noises and birds chirping. We can’t wait to go back again! Thanks for having us!

We hope to come back

I give this stay a huge 5 stars. One thing to say is that the pictures online actually “under estimate” how great it really is. It’s just really beautiful in a simple way. Another best thing to say is that they provide little things you may have forgotten- from bug spray to dog food bowls-(we didn’t bring an animal) but it caught my attention that there are even dog treats in the cabinet! Melissa made sure you are ready to cook with olive oil and spices and other things like cookware and utensils. There is a keurig maker and coffeemaker and the things to make the brews:) All of us had a good night of sleep. The only thing I would say is if there are 6 adults one would have to sleep on a trundle bed - but there are 4 of us that stayed there and my dad opted to sleep on the couch rather than fold it out. He said it was very comfy. The loft is fabulous and a very comfortable (according to my 17 year old twin girls) king size bed with plenty of room around it. There are closets available in the loft bedroom and the downstairs bedroom (where the day bed is) along with plenty of blankets and bedding. Another favorite thing is a very nice screened in porch where we ate breakfast all 3 mornings watching the hummingbirds eat and play. I was in awe of the log cabin atmosphere and the lovely decor- I have stayed in 3 other cabins throughout the years and this was by far the most favorite of any place I’ve ever stayed.

The country cabin was awesome ! Peaceful cozy clean cabin with beautiful scenery. The host was great and very informative with everything. Cabin was clean and nicely decorated ! The bed gets 10 stars after traveling 535 miles to get there. Seeing farm life with animals was the best. We really enjoyed our stay here while in Illinois visiting family …

What a wonderful stay! The cabin was perfect for us! Our host was kind, friendly and very helpful. The cabin was well-supplied. Was great to be in the country and seeing horses, cows, geese, sheep and goats. The best compliment I can give: would love to go back!

The perfect getaway

We loved this cozy cabin. The screened in porch, the loft bed, the well-equipped kitchen and bathroom- everything was perfect. We were even able to check in early . It was a hidden getaway in farmland and we loved it. Thank you so much.

Welcome to our place. It's always been our dream to live on a working farm and we were lucky enough to find one with a cozy cabin! We raise goats, babydoll sheep, livestock guardian dogs, and several types of specialty chickens. Our family also includes friendly horses, a spit-fire mini horse, a lovable donkey and a grouchy yet sweet house pig.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our cabin is beautifully decorated with a cozy fireplace in the living room and cathedral ceilings. The view of the farm and woods from the front porch is serene and the sunsets from the screen porch in the back are lovely. The peaceful, country setting is idyllic, while being close to so many attractions and so much to do.
