Beautiful spacious house 4 BR 4BR the top floor is a bonus with its own family room and view of the Hot Tub and pool. Property walkable to old town shops, bars and grocery. Nearby walking trails leading to serene views a family of Eagles, a love for bird watchers. Use our bike path that travels from DC/Old town/ south to Mt Vernon and see George Washington's estate and beautiful Potomac river views, all just minutes away. Our property has a Hot tub to die for! Incredible Kitchen and convection oven perfect for hosting and baking bread! New mattresses just perfect for a good night’s sleep. Famous Old Town Ghost tours are a favorite, a buzzing Wharf restaurant district DC, and a night sky perfect for stargazing("little dipper /big dipper) off our deck. My favorite brunch is right next door The Haven Restaurant connected to awesome ice cream shop, a short 2 blocks away. Sprawling backyard with large deck and roast marshmellows over two firepits. Also National Harbor with beautiful Ferris Wheel and shows at MGM just 10 min away.

The space was perfect for our girls group to stay in and bond during the less than fantastic weather in February. It had plenty of beds as well as common spaces so we had the perfect combination of personal space with shared experiences. The house was clean and the instructions were clear. The hostess was flexible and responded quickly with confirmations. Thank you for facilitating our long weekend getaway!

Just the best

From start to finish, we all really loved our stay. The house offered great spaces for groups, and for quiet reflection. It had great access to downtown Alexandria and to Washington, D.C. I would highly recommend and definitely stay again. Thans so much!

Well equipped. While we prepped and cooked at our relatives home on this. Thanksgiving weekend everything we could have needed was within easy reach.enjoyed the easy access to Mt Vernon just 10-12 minutes away . One ofOur family watched a movie so we owe you 10 for his access.Thanks for sharing your home . It is a great location in all seasons

Great location, lovely home

My family and I gathered at Diane’s for a Thanksgiving celebration. The home was well equipped for our needs and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The location is ideal as it is close to shopping and restaurants. Quiet neighborhood.

Best 4th of July Getaway

This was an amazing property located close to everything especially if you love the outdoors and like to spend your day on the water in a boat. The house was very private and the backyard was like an oasis. I will definitely be renting this property again in the future. Highly recommend!!!!

Our Vrbo rental

We were celebrating our oldest son’s graduation from law school. Along with my husband and me were my son and his fiancé, and my daughter and her fiance. The home was marvelous! It was spacious and beautiful both inside and outside. Located in a quiet neighborhood but easily accessible to Old Towne and DC, it really made our celebration memorable.

Family Time!

Diane’s property was just what our family needed. The kids loved the pool area, and that is what steered us to rent the property. We were in town for a military promotion and the location gave us easy access to all the sights our family wished to visit. Thank you Diane!

Big, comfortable house short drive to Alexandria

We enjoyed our stay in this house, which has many bedrooms and bathrooms. It is less than 5 minutes walk to a lovely park, 5 minutes drive to Alexandria and 20 minutes into DC. This is a spacious, lived-in house. Additional updated home instructions for visitors would be helpful.

Lovely Stay

The location is excellent. We were pleased to discover a grocery store just a couple blocks away. There was plenty of space for our whole family. It worked out very well for our family, all coming from out of town for our daughter’s wedding. We loved the pool area with plenty of seating for everyone. We were a little confused about whether or not to use the main floor bedroom (wasn’t super clear in advertisement) so we didn’t use that bedroom. We had plenty of space regardless. We would definitely stay there again!

Old Town Stay

The property was great. The one issue we had was it said no pets, which is what we were looking for cause 2 of our guests have severe allergies. The owner did have pets there so there was an initial issue. The owner did have someone come in and do a deeper clean after our first night. That with some Zyrtec seemed to solve the problem. The pool was fun and the location was very good. It is a beautiful home.

AMAZING HOME!!!

This property was absolutely amazing for me and my four guests as we celebrated my birthday. The home was equipped with all the necessary essentials. The pool was absolutely to die for. The Jacuzzi was nonetheless the best. There is ample seating space both inside the home and outside of the home. The icing on the cake of course is the host herself. She was very attentive and responded very quickly if I had any questions or concerns. If you’re looking for somewhere close by DC, this is the spot for you. There was not a lot of traffic and it was very quick to get to DC as that is where most of our festivities occurred.

Lovely and well-located large house for coffee lovers

This is a well-located, large house in Old Town Alexandria. It's in a cul-de-sac, but also a 2 minute walk from restaurants and the running trail along the river. The listing says it only has 2 bathrooms, but by our count there are 3 full bathrooms and 1 powder room. There is a full-floor "mini apartment" with en suite bathroom on the top floor, ideal for teenagers. As an earlier review commented, this house appears to be usually occupied by a family who lives there when it's not rented out. The result is that it is generously stocked with everything you might need during your stay, but it's not the empty (sometimes sterile) place you might expect at a commercial property set up just for rentals. It worked well for us. The owners are lovely and very responsive. If you are a coffee person, you can bring K-cups and vertuo capsules. We are looking forward to coming back!

Large house, beautiful pool - kids loved it!

We came to DC for a family trip with 4 teenagers and in laws - a total of 8. This house was perfect for us. Everyone loved having their own space and bathrooms, and it was the perfect place to relax after a day in DC. The house was very clean and had everything we needed- yes, the owner lives there when not renting, but that was not an issue for us at all. There was a snafu with the upstairs air conditioning, but the owner worked hard to ensure all was okay - even brought in portable window units while she got it fixed (we understand it is fixed now). Neighborhood is quiet and walkable with very cute houses. Grocery store (Safeway) is a 2 minute drive away, and there is a restaurant within walking distance. Note the Huntington METRO stop is a great option to go into town - it is about 1.5 miles from the house, so a short drive (and cheap parking) - it would be approx a 45 minute walk, but you could also Uber for very cheap. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place and we would come back and stay again!

Not worth it

House had multiple issues - ants in the kitchen, toilets not working (one even had a sticker w/ instructions), hot tub water was green, dishwasher rack broken, prescription drugs in the cabinets, etc. It looks like the owner lives in the house so it is full of stuff but one would think they would fix all the broken stuff or at least list everything that isn’t working. I wouldn’t have even written a review it is hadn’t been for the keypad for the lock breaking, owner not answering phone unless we contacted them via VRBO, then lying to the VRBO person saying we never called…we were locked out for 3 hours until midnight w/ 3 kids. Just seemed like an irresponsible owner when it all added up.
