Idéalement situé dans la ville de Girdwood, au pied de la montagne de Max, sur une route calme et sans issue. Épicerie locale, restaurants / bars et piste de ski à moins d'un mile du chalet.

Dans ce quartier paisible, vous trouverez le camp de base idéal pour votre aventure en Alaska. Le chalet de l'arrière-pays est conçu pour vous offrir un séjour confortable à Girdwood avec une cuisine complète et des équipements de couchage. Ce chalet à ossature bois possède un magnifique revêtement en séquoia. Construit par des grimpeurs en 1983, le séquoia recyclé provenait du magasin REI d'origine d'Anchorage.

Au rez-de-chaussée, la cuisine et le salon sont entourés de fenêtres. La cuisine et la salle de bain viennent d'être rénovées avec de nouveaux sols et comptoirs. Les planchers sont chauffés par rayonnement pour les orteils grillés, quelle que soit la température extérieure. La chambre au rez-de-chaussée a un grand lit et un placard. Le futon dans le salon se déplie également en un lit de taille normale. Le loft principal abrite un lit queen size à ossature de bois où la lune brille de mille feux par nuits claires. Ceci est la chambre principale de la maison avec un placard complet. En haut de l'échelle, vous pouvez vous échapper dans la salle des arbres pour lire, vous détendre ou regarder à travers la forêt. Du café, du thé, du cacao chaud et du cidre épicé sont fournis gratuitement pour votre plaisir.

La grande terrasse avec des sièges à l'avant est parfaite pour se détendre après une randonnée ou, si vous aimez un feu de joie, réchauffez-vous près du bol à feu. Ce chalet de 1000 pieds carrés est bien adapté pour les familles et amis en groupes jusqu'à six personnes.

Beautiful getaway cabin

We spent our honeymoon exploring north of Anchorage and south to Seward so Kathy’s place was a perfect home base for us. We didn’t do much besides sleep there but it was great. Clean, quiet, tucked away yet close to town. Kathy was very hospitable and we enjoyed our stay.

Great place in Girdwood!

Great host, amazing location and beautiful home. Very clean, had what we needed and place was just perfect!!! Will be returning to Girdwood in March of next year and will stay here again. If you stay here be mindful and keep the place clean.

Perfect start to Alaska trip

The hostess communicated all aspects well ahead of our arrival. The cabin itself was far more than we expected. Perfect location to Alyeska, and to all points east. Our next trip will definitely be staying there again!

Cozy and spacious accommodations in Girdwood

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely wooded cabin. Despite some rainy weather in Girdwood, this cabin with many large windows and a very cool treehouse felt like a cozy hideaway in the rainforest. We appreciated the laundry facilities and the well-furnished full kitchen. The location was also convenient to area restaurants.

Relaxing location

Owners were very accommodating. The house is comfortable with all the amenities. Nice central location from both Seward and Anchorage. So convenient that there was a washer and dryer. Only wish we would have known there was another house on the property so close to this one.

Lovely Chalet!

Everything was perfect at this chalet... I would highly recommend! We were in town for a wedding and loved staying here. It was comfortable and cozy. We loved taking our wine up to the loft area. Having wifi was a very nice plus. The shower is amazing as well... terrific water pressure! Would not hesitate to book again!

Treated us like family

Welcoming and personable. The host was available and made us feel right at home. Even incited us to participate in a campfire one evening. The place was clean and well supplied. Loved it.

Lovely cabin

This is a great cabin in Girdwood. 1 bedroom downstairs and another loft room with an adorable sitting room on third floor. You felt like you were in the trees! Kathy the owner was wonderful to work with. She was available for every question we had. Our 9 year old daughter was in love with this cabin and the town! One of my favorite places I return to often! This cabin is a great place to make memories!

Absolutely gorgeous property in a beautiful location

We would stay here again in a heartbeat and indeed are looking forward to staying for much longer the next time we do. The property has everything you could want or need. It’s situated among the trees with many windows such that you feel like you’re in a treehouse. We love the Alyeska/Girdwood area because there is good food close by and it’s a great launching point for so many wonderful adventures. Communication with host Cathy was super easy and she was so awesome to us I can’t even express how much we appreciate everything.

we spent few days in Girdwood chalet in lush green surrounding when not cruising sound in Whittier and heli flightseeing .It was pretty wet weather but so cozy and nice by the fireplace.Property is well stacked,everything works well and hosts were easy to communicate.Thank you and thumbs up!

Great Place To Stay

My family had a wonderful stay at this nice Girdwood Chalet. The property is clean and comfortable and our group of 5 found everything we needed for cooking, resting, and relaxing. We loved the peaceful location within walking distance to the Virgin Creek Falls trail. The kids especially enjoyed hanging out, playing, and sleeping way up high in the window filled loft. Thanks, Kathy, for the nice use of your stroller which saved me from having to pack along mine, and for letting us enjoy your ping pong table. Much fun was had by all. We did not run out of fun things to do. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

We spent two weeks here. The chalet is located in a neighborhood which provides a quiet homey feeling. It is perfect for being able to walk around the neighborhood or even to the store. The owners greeted us and made us feel at home. The kitchen is well stocked so I was able to cook nightly. Having a washer & dryer is definitely a plus. When I forgot something in the chalet after locking it, Kathy graciously helped me !! I highly recommend this chalet for its location and price.

Wonderful forest get away

While on an extended stay in Alaska to visit our daughter, we called this place home for nearly two months. It was wonderful place to stay among the tall spruce and fir trees in Girdwood. Every window looked out on the green forested slopes, secluded but close to town. Very relaxing. The cottage is outfitted with nearly everything you could possibly need, including a washer and dryer. The towels were big and fluffy, the beds were very comfortable, the silverware, plates and utensils were of good quality. The large deck with gas grill were an added bonus, which we used nearly every evening to grill outside. We will definitely be returning. We wish to thank Kathy, Alan, Alex, Coco and Pixie, for allowing us to share their little piece of heaven in Alaska.

Best stocked place we've ever stayed and awesome shower to boot!!!

This cabin was by far the best stocked place we have ever stayed. It had everything we could possibly need. Our trip was a family vacation for 5 adults. This cabin boasts nice fluffy towels, all the items you would need to cook a full meal (bring your own groceries of course), plenty pillows and blankets, and the most awesome shower head I've ever seen. We seriously considered packing the whole shower and flying it home, lol! Kathy was so easy to work with. She and her family definitely put thought into what they put in their cabin. Also, Kathy checked on us to make sure we made it in ok and that all was well. We weren't sure what to expect as far as the town but Girdwood was awesome!!! It has more if a local, less tourist town, kind of feel. We especially enjoyed all the local restaurants. We joked about being in a foodie town. This was definitely the best place to be!! Thanks Kathy for sharing your great cabin with us!

Exceeded Expectations!

Due to a last minute change of plans, we were forced to "settle" on a 2 BR for our group of 5. Mom, Dad, 18, 15, and 12 yrs old... We were completely thrilled with this property. Kathy was friendly and accommodating, and configured the chalet to meet our needs. It's a great location, super clean, comfortable, and we'd stay there again in a heartbeat. The chalet shares the lot with the owner's second home, but this in no way detracts from the charm of this cottage. We sorta needed the internet (Yeh, I know, but it's work related) so we'd drive over to the Alyeska resort and log in there, but that was all that was missing. Friendly, responsive owners always make these rentals a hit, and these owners left us completely happy. We highly recommend this property....loved the stay!!! Cozy and peaceful, just as advertised :) Keep your eyes open...a black bear wandered up the road while we roasted marshmallows one evening at the great little fire pit!!!

Girdwood Chalet

My husband and 4 year old daughter stayed in this cabin for five nights. It has a great location...close to a lot of hiking, not too far from Whittier, less than an hour from Anchorage, and less than a two hour drive to Seward. The cabin itself isn't secluded but does sit on a dead-end street. During our stay we didn't hear our neighbors once. The inside is great. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you'll need. The bathroom was roomy and the water pressure was fantastic. One of the bedrooms is upstairs and one is downstairs kind of close to the backdoor. I personally didn't want my young daughter spending the night upstairs because of the noise factor...we wouldn't have been able to watch tv, and I wasn't too comfortable with her being downstairs close to the door while we were upstairs so one of us ended up staying in her room. No big deal. Plus Kathy was great. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cabin to anyone.

We have lived in Alaska for 30 years and love this beautiful state. We feel fortunate to be raising our family here and look forward to the time we get to spend in Girdwood skiing, snowboarding, hiking and just enjoying the laid back, friendly atmosphere.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We chose this particular property due to its location. Located on a third of an acre on a quiet, dead end road, it is very peaceful. The cabin is surrounded by hemlocks and in the summer the hummingbirds and blueberries are plentiful. It is centrally located with several restaurants and the local grocery within walking distance. Whittier, Seward and Hope are easy day trips by car should guests want to explore places other than Girdwood.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

St. Moritz sits at the base of Max's Mountain and ends shortly after our chalet. The neighbors are genuine and the blueberries sweet. When the sun shines, it warms the gravel roads and brings everyone out to visit and share stories. For the adventurous spirit, the back door leads to excellent powder skiing in winter and quiet hikes with bears, forest flowers and birds in summer. This is a quiet, serene place.
