Park directly outside the front door of the unit for easy unloading. Steps to the sand, Honl’s Beach - the home of Boogie Boarding.

The space.
This ground-level unit has been fully remodeled and features new kitchen appliances, split-system AC unit, one in the living room and another in the bedroom, keeping you cool and comfortable. A 65” SMART flat screen TV in the living room, a 50” SMART flat screen in the bedroom. Additionally, this unit boasts a spacious, partially-covered lanai - the largest lanai at Kona Reef - for you to enjoy.

There is a comfortable Cal-king size bed in the bedroom and a queen size pull-out in the living room. Both beds are furnished with luxury linens to ensure you get the best night's sleep possible.

Additional amenities include WIFI, beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas, various beach toys (including boogie boards), and an in-unit washer and dryer. A basic supply of paper and soap products are also included.

The Neighborhood:
This condo is located walking distance to downtown Kona meaning that you’ll have all the convenience of Alii Drive with the privacy of your own home. Just steps away from the beach and minutes away from shopping centers & restaurants, this condo truly is the best of both worlds.

The unit was not very clean when we arrived. Food on the floor etc. I went to a hardware store and replaced the inner shower curtain after arriving due to mold on the one that was there. No clock in the bedroom, no collider in the kitchen, bathroom sink barely drained. Great location and pool.

The condo was wonderful. Great ocean views. Location perfect, walking distance to town. Hot tub was a nice addition. The Mantra Ray night dive with Big Island Divers is a must. Would recommend this condo.

Another Great Hawaii Vacation

We have stayed at the Kona Reef a few times now in different locations each time. I can say without hesitation that this unit was one of the nicest, well stocked units in the complex. great views from a large lanai, perfect for morning coffee.

Relaxing Condo with great views of the ocean

Great condo with a beautiful view of the ocean. Nice sized condo with a very well stocked kitchen. Large deck overlooking the ocean. Pool and jacuzzi very clean with nice deck furniture. Would definitely recommend this condo!

50th Lili’u’okalani Canoe Races Retreat

We really enjoyed our stay this past weekend! Everything is very near to the lodging. The view was amazing and the condo was very clean. We especially enjoyed that it was air-conditioned because it is really hot in Kona. My family wants to come back again to stay here. I am in agreement. A hui hou!

Great stay

We had a great time in Paul's apartment. The communication was good from the beginning and he always answered our questions quickly. The apartment was as seen in the pictures. Everything was in order. It wsr everything there what one needed. The ocean is even closer than you think from the pictures. We had a great time and would come again. Thank you for hosting us.

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay in Kona. The property location was excellent. Close to restaurants and stores. The condo complex was very good. A nice pool area, nice grilling area, and quiet at night. The view of the ocean was magnificent. We felt the condo was not clean. The kitchen cabinets handles were dirty and the cabinets over the stove have grease all over them. The furniture in the condo needs to be upgraded. The couch is worn, uncomfortable, and dirty. The outdoor table was nice but needs to be updated to something more modern. It is really uncomfortable to sit at. There were no lounging chairs to sit outside on the deck. The deck area is huge, nice loungers would have made it great. We ended up using the beach chairs to sit on the deck as they were more comfortable than the wooden table chairs.

Great location

My wife and 10 year old boy stayed 5 nights and it was perfect for us. Remodeled unit with two great a/c units so it was always perfect temperature. Big back patio area with a dining table and a 5 star view of the ocean over the pool. Our son stayed in the front room on a provided foam mattress pad and it was perfect because he wakes up early to watch tv and we couldn’t even hear it from the bedroom. First floor unit right next to the parking lot which made it easy to drag in and out our beach gear and groceries. Walking distance to town but we drove most of the time and parked in the free parking down the street behind lava Java in case we bought something. The complex itself is a bit old but so are all the condos in that area. Great little beach next door and lawn chairs on the grass in front of the ocean front pool. If you can do without the hotel amenities and want a two room fully furnished condo then this is your place.

Fantastic Location - Great View

Great first impression and view was better than expected. Plenty of room for 2 (bed was comfy) & would be spacious enough with kids out on the couch. As we were unpacking things in the kitchen, we realized the cleaning staff had really only done a through the middle cleaning - crumbs were in the corners and edges of counters, food under the toe kicks and the cabinet fronts and knobs felt greasy. We contacted Paul to let him know that the cleaning staff wasn’t doing as good a job as they should. He responded right away and said he would have a talk with them and offered to have them come back to finish cleaning. We declined as we had cleaned up most of it already. If the issue with the cleaning staff has been resolved, I would rate 5’s across all categories. It is so convenient to just walk into town rather than having to hunt for parking - and there was plenty of parking (in March at least) at the resort.

Excellent unit in a great location

I have stayed in many rental units and this one has to be near the top, if not the top, of my list. First off the location is within an easy walk to 'downtown' Kailua-Kona, with lots of restaurants, shops, and bars. The complex has a nice pool and great lounging chairs. The only drawback is there was only one functioning grill/BBQ of the four. The location is great for watching sunsets.The condo is very clean and comfortable. It is ground level at the front door (no stairs) but the back patio is elevated, so you don't have people walking by your sliding glass door all day! Privacy is important to me.This unit has separate A/C units for the main room and the bedroom, so you can enjoy the sliding door being open to the main room while keeping the bedroom cool.The kitchen is important to us and this one has pretty much everything you need for pots, pans, utensils, etc. Also, the owner seems to be okay with the cleaners leaving any unopened leftover food, which is a wonderful bonus as you don't have to waste money on things like cooking oil or various spices. Although we did not utilize them, the owner has a large variety of water 'toys' for renters to use.Obviously, we were very pleased with the opportunity to stay in this unit and will stay there next time we are on the Big Island.

Beautiful place

This place was wonderful. Before we arrived, I was concerned that we might be too far from the water to see and hear it well. We walked through the front door and could see the water. We opened the door to the lanai and heard the wonderful surf. The tension just flowed out of me. We didn't use the air conditioning in the living area at all, but it was nice to have it in the bedroom at night. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots and pans, a toaster, a coffee maker (and a bag of coffee), food storage containers, dishes, utensils, spices, and more. It was so relaxing to have a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. We intended to make use of the many beach and water items (lounge chairs, snorkels, etc.) but we found relaxing on the lanai so enticing and to be more our speed. We did enjoy the pool and hot tub. Being within walking distance of multiple delicious eateries was an added bonus. (Check out Gypsea Gelato!) We appreciated receiving Paul's guidebook ahead of time to whet our appetites for our vacation. The condo had a great layout for the two of us. While I can see that it might work with a third person, or two small children, on the sofa sleeper, I'd be concerned it would feel cramped with two adults and two teens (or older). When we plan our next trip, we'll definitely see if Paul's place is available.

Lovely Condo

Paul has a very nice condo in Kona. The photos are accurate - the view over the pool to the ocean and surf is great. We loved the sound of the waves, even to the bedroom which is on the street side. The complex is fairly quiet with a helpful staffed office to answer questions. It is on Ali'i Dr., but at the south end of the commercial area after all the shops and restaurants. Plenty of parking. Paul has provided cooking basics (oil, vinegar, spices), foil and ziploc bags, a good assortment of cookware and lots of tupperware for storage and packing lunches. The snorkeling equipment is plentiful and seems to be high quality; we didn;t use the boogie boards. The A/C and fans worked to keep us comfortable and having a washer/dryer in the unit was very helpful. We'd come back!

Beautiful, Well Appointed Property

My wife and I spent five nights at Paul’s property at the Kona Reef Resort. He did a masterful job on the remodel. The condo is clean, well appointed, with AC, and a great ocean view. Parking was difficult (there appears to be less spots than units), but there was always street parking available. All in all, it was a beautiful property and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Kailua Kona.
