Private Farm. Located between New River Gorge and Summersville Lake.
The Meadow River Ranch is a picturesque farmhouse conveniently located between Fayetteville and Summersville just off US 19. The house features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a well equipped kitchen with dining area.
After a great day of being on the lake, hiking, biking, or rafting, enjoy evening sunsets on the large patio or by the fire pit, watch the wildlife in the pastures, wake up, brew a cup of coffee, and do it again!
The property was fantastic! The house was clean and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. It was located close to all the hiking/rafting that we wanted to do. We were able to enjoy time on the deck, cook meals, and watch the wildlife while at the house. My family of four loved it!
This house was the perfect location for all the things we wanted to do on our family getaway. It was close to activities, yet private and quiet. We decided on white water rafting on the Lower New River Gorge and kayaking on Summersville Lake. It was great to come back to a clean and quiet house after all the fun. Plus, it was really enjoyable seeing the cows! The house was well stocked had everything you could need for a vacation. I would definitely rent here again if we come back to the area!
Farm house was very clean and the farm was very nice. Was chilly and rainy so we didnât get to stay outside much. We will definitely be staying sgsin
Enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Great location for raft trip on the Gauley. It was quiet and comfortable, close to everything in the area while also being secluded. It was a great place to stay for our group.
Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farm house! Very spacious and clean. It is a very peaceful and relaxing area but still close to the highway and all the great activities at the new river gorge. We would definitely stay agian!
Wonderful property if your goal is relaxation and family time! The house was well appointed and filled with thoughtful details. Perfect location for climbers right next to the Meadows and in between Summersville Lake and Fayetteville. Would definitely stay again!
Perfect place to stay for Summersville Lake and New River Gorge rafting activities. Modernized farmhouse with plenty of room for the whole family. Super host !
We enjoyed this home very much. It was the perfect location, near white water rafting adventures, Fayetteville, Summersville, the cool New River Bridge, and lots of hiking. We chose Ace Adventures for our activities and had a blast (zip line tour, rafting, inflatable water park). The cows on the property made our stay extra fun. They were very cute!
This farmhouse is the perfect little getaway. It is so peaceful and serene. Our toddler loved to watch the cows in the pasture by the house. There is a ton of wildlife to enjoy as well. The kitchen has everything you need to be able to prepare a meal for a crowd and the location is close to both Summersville and Fayetteville if you have an adventure planned or dont feel like cooking.
The house was great! We spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the fire pit and cooking out. The bathrooms and kitchen are freshly renovated which makes an old farmhouse much more of a manageable stay. Plenty of space for our family of 6.
Had a great time here at this home. We loved the backyard, fire pit and grill. Had a barbecue and fire time every night to watch the sunset and enjoy the fireflies.
Home was nice and accommodated all of our needs. We would have benefitted from a bit more communication on what to do at the home and a little more clarity from host at times but would return for another weekend retreat.
Our family of 4 adults were all very pleased with the home and property. Loved watching the deer, turkeys and cows. It was quiet and serene. Great place to relax on the patio and catch some football in between all the local activities. Owner was very responsive. Had a little trouble finding it at 9:30 pm. It was dark and a little hidden away but had it been daylight I donât think we would have had a problem. Would definitely stay here again. WiFi worked great.
We loved the farm house. It was updated and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. We loved looking at the stars at night. We also enjoyed watching the cows, deer and turkeys in the nearby fields. The location worked great for us. It was about 10 minutes to the lake. It also had lots of room to park our boat. The only down side for us was that you could hear the highway at the house. We will definitely stay here in the future if we are in the area.
We did not realize there was not any Wi-Fi, which is our fault for not checking. Luckily we were able to find local places to watch some sports. Just want people to be aware before getting there and finding out. The cows were a plus though
Overall the whole group was impressed with this property! It seemed newly renovated, but kept the farmhouse charm and we had plenty of room to spread out.
The best thing about this house was its proximity to New River Gorge National Park (about 10-15 min from the bridge on the north side). The firepit was a close second, we used it just about every night.
A highlight of the trip was watching a doe and fawn frolic right outside the patio doors. There was an abundance of wildlife living on the property.
The host was also very easy to communicate with. If our group were to return to this area, we would love to rent the property again!
So, the reunion was over by Canvas/Nettie and this location was perfect. We were all from the area and we know it well (or used to - so much has changed though). The house was quiet with very peaceful surroundings. The highway is sorta through the woods, but we never heard anything from it. The house is very well renovated from what appears to be a turn of the century farmhouse - very cool. We will maybe be in the area again soon and will most definately check it out again for our stay. Thanks.
We wanted a clean, comfortable place to stay near New River Gorge National Park, and the farmhouse delivered. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and the house has been recently updated. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen has everything you need if you decidd to cook or grill. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening--and watching the cows graze! The house is a 15 minute ride to the Visitor Center and just one turn off Rt. 19 (though it was a little hard to find the first time). The owner was responsive and pleasant! This was exactly the getaway that we needes. Thank you!
If youâre looking for the farm feel or wide open spaces this is the spot. Amazing sunrise and sunsets, frogs in the evenings. We saw deer and turkeys. Farm house vibe outside with an amazing modern and newly remodeled inside. Plenty of room and an open kitchen. Four bar cell service. This property boarders the Gauley River Recreation Area, 15 minutes from the New River Gorge National Park and Summersville Lake. Close enough to Fayetteville or Summersville (restaurants) but directly beside the main highway although youâd never know it. Perfect in every aspect! We are looking forward to a soon return and longer stay.
We had a bit of trouble finding the house, but once we found it we settled in. It was obviously newly remodeled. We stayed with 2 adults and 6 school aged kids and had enough room for everyone. The kids enjoyed exploring the property and playing outside. There was a nice selection of DVDs and games to play. The kitchen was equipped with the basics, but bring your own spices/oil/spray etc. There are several nice hikes close by and a dollar general right down the road. The property could be improved with a gas grill (only charcoal is available currently and we had to go to the store for charcoal and lighter fluid) and wifi/TV streaming.
good, but two things missing: 1) needed to know in advance that there was no internet. because i was travelling from overseas, i did not have mobile data on my phone. this meant that i could not actually communicate with the owner while i was at the house; i needed to go fiind wifi in order to ask questions 2) would have been great with some written instructions on how to do some things. for example, the garbage was piling up - and starting to smell - but we did not know how to properly dispose of it. but aside from that listing is pretty accurate
