Awesome place and an awesome host! We’ve stayed here multiple times when visiting the New River Gorge and always have a great experience. It’s become our go-to place to stay whenever we’re in the area.

We've used VRBO often but this might have been our favorite stay yet. The home was comfortable, equipped with everything you'd need, and the owner went above and beyond with communication and hospitality. Check-in/Check-Out was easy! It is tucked away in a beautiful location near all things New River Gorge. 10/10 recommend

We had a wonderful stay in Hico. The cabin was clean and spacious. We traveled to Elk River for Rail Explorers. There were also really nice places we visited: Hawks Nest State Park, the New River Gorge, Cathedral Falls. The cabin was relaxing and we appreciated the amenities: TP, paper towels, hand soap, linens, towels. We were happy about the firewood and already brought smores for a nice evening fire. The host also left smores which we paid forward for the next guests. Also, the farm cat Stormy was sweet. It was peaceful to see the three cows every morning. We would definitely return.

Poppy’s Place was absolutely perfect! This property was exactly what we needed for a weekend away from the bustle. The host was so easy to work with. The property was so cute and very clean. Very quiet and cozy.

All I can say is wow! Absolutely amazing!!!! Everything we needed was there! The privacy makes it perfect to stay there the whole time or venture out!!!! Perfectly located!!! Anything and everything was so close!!!!!! We enjoyed the board games and Stormy the outside kitty was perfect as we arean animal family and missed our back home! We were celebrating birthdays and the owners thoughtfully left a card balloon and stuff to makes smores!!!!! Poppys Place was the perfect home away from home! The owner was so amazing and on top of it!!!!!!

We had a wonderful stay and couldn't have been happier with this rental. The home was exactly as advertised: comfortable, welcoming, and perfectly suited for our family. One of our favorite features was the large living room, which gave us plenty of space to gather, relax, and spend time together after our daily adventures.The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals, which made our stay even more convenient. We also appreciated the abundance of towels. It's a small detail, but having plenty available for everyone made a big difference and was something we really noticed.The location worked out perfectly for all of the activities we had planned around New River Gorge National Park and the surrounding area. It was an ideal home base for exploring and enjoying everything the region has to offer.And as an added bonus, the outdoor cat was absolutely adorable! We looked forward to seeing our furry little visitor each day.Overall, this property helped make our West Virginia vacation a huge success. We made wonderful family memories here and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. We would definitely stay again!

The communication was excellent, short and very quick answers. The location was perfect if you want to visit Babcock, NRG, Hawks Nest and Twin Falls Parks. The cabin was rustic outside, but beautiful, clean, neat and charming inside. You walked in, unpacked and found everything you needed to be at home. From the linens, kitchen, fireplaces, comfortable and pretty new furniture to the cozy feel of the cabin. There are two additional rooms besides the living room/kitchen for other social activities. The laundry area is huge. There is a "smores" welcoming kit on the counter for you. Outside, there is country living. A firepit, trees, a picnic table, propane grill and plenty of space for games,, kids running around etc. The driveway is pretty long, so look for the address number. Drive up the blacktop, check out the pond to the left followed by the Angus cows and then pull up towards the left behind the house. You may find the Stormy, the outside Kitty welcoming you. buThere are two bathrooms, one in an en suite and has the shower. The other hallway bathroom has an old fashioned sink and tub style but are actually very clean and look new. It was cool so we didn't use the AC, but the fireplaces kept the house toasty. We would go back here again. This a very nice property and the real wood (not paneling) used in the interior was pretty impressive. We enjoyed staying there for our vacation.

Super comfortable and extremely clean country house with all the amenities required for an enjoyable stay. The living room furniture was very cozy and enjoyed by all. There were board games and several other pleasant surprises! Definitely recommend!

This is a charming house with tons of amenities. We loved our stay. It was a great home base for our WV adventures, located near many outdoor activities but in a calm, peaceful spot. We loved the firepit, the grills, and the board games (Clue forever!). William was wonderful to work with, very responsive. All the stars!

Nothing to identify if we were at the right place. Impressed with the cleanliness and the serene setting. we heard turkeys but that was all.Great location to see local sights!Stormy the cat was a pleasant surprise. You might give more details about the location of feeding dishes.We suggest more hooks in second bedroom. Also, the last outside step was difficult to manage. Need some cutesy curb appeal. Maybe shutters or window boxes.Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The place was lovely and well laid out. Very quiet and roomy. A great location for exploring the New River Gorge National Park. The host, William, responded quickly to all correspondence and quickly answered any question we had. At the time we stayed there was no air conditioning so it got hot during the afternoon, but the host has informed that he has corrected that, so we would stay again.

This house was great! Location outside of town with beautiful views, 3 adorable cows for neighbors and a resident cat. The inside was clean, beautifully decorated and the owner truly thought of everything. The four of us had a great home base for all of our adventures. The area has so much to offer, way more than we could fit in our visit.

Excellent property for families. Our family of 5 had plenty of room. The house was clean and had all the basics needed for cooking. There was a fire pit in the back yard ready to go. We enjoyed our stay. Our host was very attentive and responded quickly.
