Easy check in, and great communication with Sarah! The house is large with beautiful decor. Plenty of rooms for sleeping in luxury king beds! Kitchen is well equipped with gas stove and every utensil and appliance you could need. The yard is perfect for families!
The house was well cared for and reflected the owners respecting of its age. It was enjoyed by all the guests. It offered a quiet setting to come back to stay each night. We did not need to prepare no meals during our stay. So, that made relaxation a treat. Many get conversations took some late into the early morning without disturbing others who sleep.
We had a large group with family from Maryland, Kentucky and Michigan. The house was wonderful with plenty of space, bedrooms and kitchen room for cooking our Thanksgiving feast. We appreciated Sarah and Ryan who were extremely responsive and helpful, giving us tips and info about the area for places to enjoy on our stay. We had a wonderful time and would love to return.
Great stay. The chateau accommodated all of our needs, was surprisingly cozy and had amazing views of the sunset over the Kokosing River.
Great amenities, fun design and an awesome kitchen.
We wanted a place with room, inside and out, to connect with family. Staying here checked all the boxes! Close enough to get needed essentials, but felt like we were in our own little world on top of the hill! Communication with hosts was top notch!
We visited our daughter at Kenyon for the weekend. This place was perfect!! So close to the campus and just the right size to have her and her friends over for dinner. We look forward to returning.
Cozy and Clean - Helpful Hosts and Natural Setting
We visited for a reunion planning meeting at Kenyon. The property is very cozy and had everything we needed. It's in a very natural setting - beautiful views. The property is only about a 5-minute drive to campus. The walk to the edge of campus is about 10 minutes but closer to 25 minutes to get to Peirce (the main dining hall). All in all very enjoyable stay. The hosts reached out to speak by phone beforehand and were extremely friendly and helpful.
Beautiful country setting. The home was spacious with nice gathering spaces. The screened in porch was a great spot for morning coffee and conversation.
The isolation and farm like nature of this home worked perfectly. It allowed our group to enjoy a weekend with friends at a peaceful getawa! Thank you!
Plenty of places to sleep for a large group of friends, and lots of good spaces to gather (porch, 2 living-room like spaces, outdoors). The only things I'd change are adding a door to one downstairs bedroom that doesn't have one, and curtains on the bedroom windows. Overall a great spot though and very convenient to Kenyon College.
We had a great weekend staying at this adorable boho farmhouse! We celebrated my momâs 60th birthday with our immediate family and children. The kitchen was huge and fun to all cook together and the kids all enjoyed playing hide n seek and exploring the huge home and property. We went to Kenyon campus for some coffees and shopping at an adorable boutique. We also enjoyed the old train and park in town as well. Thank you so much for an excellent stay!
This property is a lovely old farmhouse with updated amenities. The kitchen is perfect for large groups to gather for meals and happy hour. We all sat by the fire pit long into the evening. The house is well furnished. We also enjoyed many small quaint shops nearby and the many beautiful hiking trails. Although we didn't require the fenced-in there was no fenced or enclosed area for children or dogs.
The location was great. Yard was awesome. The large kitchen and dry kitchen were magnificent for 14 people. Beds were comfortable. We only had 2 down falls. The one bedroom has 2 entrances but only 1 door. We made a makeshift door with a sheet and a quick drive to Walmart for a tension rod. The other was the fire pit. Thankfully the guys were handy enough to make it work but the home needs a new safe fire pit. Great place for 2-14 people. Read fine print about pricing. More peopleâŠ.more money.
Overall it was a great place and the owners were quick to answer any questions.
The house was a good size for our group of 8 college friends. The commons areas were adequate for our needs. The bedroom situation was fine for our group since 2 of our members didnât come but if all had been there, it might have been a problem. The lack of a door on the one âbedroomâ just off the dinning room is weird. If thatâs going to be used as a bedroom, a door or at least a curtain needs to be added. Also we all tripped on the hearth in that room! The rugs seemed like possible tripping hazards as well, especially upstairs where theyâre curling up on the corners. One of the guests mentioned that the upstairs bathroom in the main house wasnât very clean. The bathroom in the âapartmentâ was adequate though clearly still being redecorated. I noticed some interesting paint applications. The kitchen was sufficient except that the ice maker in the fridge wasnât working and there were no dish cloths or towels and no dishwasher detergent. We were glad we brought paper plates and plastic utensils. The well water is quite stinky but that canât be helped. The bushes in front had recently been trimmed and the branches left on the ground. Kind of messy looking although this time of year, we werenât outside much. Overall it was a nice place for our group and the price was good. I arrived at about 3:20 to check in and the cleaning crew was still there. That was a bit awkward.
Overall a decently great stay. Great outdoors, good kitchen, and nice vibe. Unfortunately, there were some things that could have been better. The AC upstairs in the hot weather was not optimal. The only bedroom downstairs had two doorways, one of which had a door that didnât close all the way, and the other one had no door so there was no privacy. Lastly, I know there is nothing you out can do about it, but the well water was pretty stinky.
Incredible property set aloft a hill next to the Kokosing. Boho vibes with country peace and quiet. Phenomenal place to host gathering. Inquire with us about larger gatherings and weddings--we do those too!
