Welcome to 'Beach Joy'!

This 2BR/1BA beach cottage with wrap-around porch and sundeck is the perfect getaway spot for a small family or two couples. With included GOLF CART, the trip to the beach is a 1 minute drive along the residential road OR take a 1-2 minute stroll to the beach boardwalk or beach path thanks to the sandy 'Beach to Bay' access alley located almost directly across the street!

First, you’ll enter into the well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and then circle into the living room with large, flat screen TV and trundle bed w/ 2 twins. A sliding glass door opens onto the wrap-around porch and overlooks the driveway.

The first of 2 bedrooms is accessible thru the living room and offers a Queen bed, TV and opens onto the furnished sundeck. The second bedroom also offers a Queen bed, TV and opens onto the wrap-around porch. This bedroom also opens into the kitchen. The jack-n-jill bathroom w/ tub/shower separates the 2 bedrooms.

The laundry room with full size washer/dryer is located in the downstairs storage room with space to store your beach toys. Relax outside in the covered seating area with picnic table and table set w/ chairs. Additional conveniences include a park-style charcoal grill and an enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower. Plenty of room for boat and additional parking and covered parking available for one vehicle.

'Beach Joy' is only 1.5 miles from the Island center, just a quick 3-minute drive or 8-minute bicycle ride to shops, restaurants and Lighthouse Park! The 6-mile long bike path is just across the street from the home. On-site beach gear includes 2 adult bicycles, corn hole boards, a beach cart and 6 beach chairs.

Guests will also have complimentary use of our 4-person electric GOLF CART! (Guests must sign a waiver for golf cart use, only drivers with a valid drivers license are authorized to drive a golf cart on St. George Island. Golf cart amenity is not guaranteed).

Clean and cozy!

We LOVED Beach Joy! It was the perfect little house for our 20th Anniversary. Unfortunately, the a/c died while we were there. BUT, the rental company moved us to a beachside property for the remainder of our stay at no additional cost! If and when we come back to the Island, we would love to stay at Beach Joy again :)

Great little quiet nest to stay in.

This place is small, but very comfortable. It is well stocked with good quality items. We were very comfortable here. The place is quiet and very close to the beach.The golfcart was a plus. There is a wagon for transporting to the beach. Lots of towels, chairs umbrellas and other essentials. A great place to rent for sure.

This is a great place for a couple or a family with 1-2 children. A golf cart is provided which made it really convenient to access the beach although the beach is within walking distance. Very pristine and very comfortable beds....we took advantage of the laundry room facilities. Beach accessories are provided which is another convenience...

Lovely place

Stayed a week with my wife and children ages 11,12,16. Great location near the beach and the bay. The outdoor deck was great. For 5 it was maybe a bit tight with one bathroom but we really enjoyed our stay on the island and the location of the house. Two chickens even visited every day we were there. I would recommend bringing bug spray.

Perfect!

This was the perfect little beach house. It’s laid out so well. It was VERY clean. We had absolutely everything we needed. Check in/out was SO simple. No hassle of having to stop by a rental office on the way in or out. I absolutely loved it and would definitely rent this house again.

It was super clean and had plenty of room for the 2 of us. It had lots of sleeping space—8 could find a spot to crash, but it might be a little tight with only one bathroom. The outdoor space was nice as well! House was private and quiet, the golf cart made it very easy to tote all of our fishing gear to the beach and was very convenient for running into town. Amenities were as expected and even above and beyond with the amount of beach gear stored away. We really enjoyed our stay here! We ended up adopting a dog from the local shelter and were sad that we couldn’t bring her with us right away due to the no pets policy, but that was clearly stated in advance and certainly isn’t a knock on the property. Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a well-furnished home! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Beach Joy!

The house was very clean, very well kept and equipped with everything we needed for cooking or a day at the beach. The beds were really comfortable and we enjoyed the deck with Adirondack chairs. There is a sandy alleyway way just across the street that goes all the way to the beach, making getting to the beach just a few minutes walk. This is in not to take away from the quality of the house, but just something to be aware of: there is only a 3seat sofa and a day bed in the living room. I found myself wishing there were a chair or 2 to sit in, instead of the 3 of us sitting side by side on the sofa to watch tv in the evenings. All of that said, I would definitely stay there again.

Thankfully we had the option to change locations. The property was very clean and well maintained and Forgotten Shores was wonderful. They are our go to agency on the island. The location was most convenient for us as we enjoy beach walks and quiet .The access path to the beach is just across the street and is a very short walk to the beach. There is a golf cart for use and there are nice public access walkways with parking close by. The only caveat is there is just one bathroom which was fine for the two of us but might be an issue for larger groups. In warm weather there is an enclosed outdoor shower. We were there for 12 nights and utilized the well equipped kitchen for most meals. We do enjoy BLUE PARROT and BJ’s Pizza when venturing out to dine. We would recommend this unit to anyone desiring clean, budget friendly, and well equipped lodging with close access to the beach. It fit us well and will definitely book there again .

Reviewer Comments: Not too far from the beach, close enough to walk, but far enough that you’re tired lol. Enjoyed the golf cart even though you couldn’t drive it on the main roads. The water softener was broken while we were there, so the water tasted like sulfur. There was more than plenty of beach chairs and activities in the storage room under the house. My only real complaint is that the house is basically one room just separated by thin drywall. You can hear EVERYTHING from room to room. The deck was peeling, and the woods looks to be very old.

Any more would have needed a bigger space. Deck was nice to relax on in the evenings and the kids loved running in the yard. All in all a great trip and a nice stay!

Perhaps one of those bow style curtain rods to give a little more space while standing in tub. Get rid of the plastic shower curtain. And the rubber tub mat was aweful. Otherwise EVERYTHING was great!!!*And the fire alarm at kitchen was beeping so we replaced the battery twice. otherwise All good.*and it would be nice to have suitcase holder *. While we are short term 1-2 week renter, we live out of our suitcases, prefer not transfer to dresser drawers.we Rented a bike and wagon and chairs. Could have just used what was provided -had we known the items were already there for use was super great to have washer and dryer! it was clean and very convenient.
