We were in Vermont at the peak of the glorious fall season for a family wedding and we loved being together with our family at this home. It was big and had great common space for us to be together, and it's a good neighborhood for a walk in the fresh air, or just a book and a drink on the deck between wedding events.The hosts were accommodating and helpful, and the check-in, check-out process was very smooth.The limited privacy for the bunk room and the futon is not a problem for families, but might be important for non-family groups to know.All in all, we would definitely stay here again. A wonderful family home! Really nicely appointed!

Our family enjoyed this home very much! Pretty setting. Close to Farmfield Flowers wedding venue! Well-equipped home. Very gracious and responsive host! Lovely in August. Definitely needed the AC!

We just loved the central location of the property! You are so close to so many surrounding towns. The pool table and board game was a plus, especially on rainy days. It was also nice listening to the sound of the creek running next to the house. Julia was a great host and made sure to install the AC units earlier than usual, when I asked about them. A great place to stay!

This property was perfect for our family to stay to attend a family wedding at Bolton Valley on Labor Day. The location was excellent and is close to Waterbury, Stowe and was only a short drive to Bolton Valley where the wedding was. The layout of the house was excellent for the 3 couples that stayed. There was plenty of room to relax and a pool table in the lower level. Other than eating breakfast in each day we didn't cook any meals but the kitchen seemed well stocked. The glasses and dishes were a bit of an eclectic collection. We appreciated having a full sized coffee maker!The check-in process was excellent and there was great communication with Julia. She provided some suggestions for grocery stores on my way to the property from Burlington airport and always responded quickly to any questions I had.I would note that the house is up a steep driveway up a steep gravel road. If you were to stay in the winter you'd definitely need 4 wheel drive!

The house was very clean and kitchen well equipped. We came during a heatwave and the air conditioning worked very well to keep the house cool . The communication with the host was excellent. Very convenient to both Waterbury and Montpelier.

This was a beautiful home, well appointed, comfortable beds, and well stocked with plenty of dishes, glassware , cookware etc… Very clean upon arrival. We had an exceptional stay and highly recommend this home and host. Great central location ( only minutes away from Ben & Jerry Factory!) nice restaurants in the area, and 25 mins from Stowe Ski Area. We would have liked to see check out at 11:00am, not 10:00am very rushed morning trying to get house cleaned and everyone out the door, other than that, we highly recommend this property.

This home was perfect for our family. We stayed during the weekend of my daughter’s graduation from UVM. The house is conveniently located near enough to Burlington to make the trips back and forth very easy. There are shops and restaurants nearby. The house lends its self to family living. Plenty of space for all and wonderful rooms for group activities, pool table, dining area, TV access for those who want it and locations for just catching up and enjoying each other’s company.

It was not the best stay for us. The smoke detector / fire alarm went off for no apparent reason. When we contacted the host they told us that it has happened in past and they don't know why it goes off. We were advised to turn the breaker to fire alarm off if it does it again. That suggestion doesn't seem safe to me - the detectors are there for a reason. There were no window shades in one of the bathrooms and in one of the bedrooms. I was told they were aware of the bathroom shade but hadn't gotten around to fixing it. There were a number of other issues that were small in nature and if they had been the only issue, it would have been no big deal. There was half a roll of paper towels for the week (I was told by the host where I could purchase more....). The bath towels were paper thin and not enough for our group. We ended up buying our own to use. There were light bulbs out in the kitchen and in the downstairs bathroom. The shower head in the downstairs bathroom leaked. Toliet in the downstairs bathroom would bubble and gurgle when the upstairs bathroom was flushed. There was a time it caused toilet water spill on the floor. Not a lot of fun to clean up. Again, anyone of these issues is no big deal by themselves but they add up to make an unpleasant stay.If you are thinking of renting this place, read the description very carefully, it is a big stretch, in my opinion, to call the house a 5 bedroom. A futon couch is a living room is not a bedroom in my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback. While we are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations, we would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Safety is always our top priority. The smoke detector briefly sounded and resolved itself within seconds; we did not advise the guest to disable the fire alarm or turn off a breaker. The home is equipped with high-quality, interconnected smoke detectors. We take care to keep the home well stocked and comfortable for our guests, and offered reimbursement for any additional paper products purchased if there had been an oversight. We have also addressed the plumbing concerns mentioned in the review. Finally, we want to clarify that our listing describes four bedrooms, with an additional living space featuring a pullout sofa. Each sleeping arrangement is detailed in both the listing description and photos so guests can make an informed decision before booking. We have welcomed guests for more than six years and remain committed to providing a clean, comfortable, and accurately represented home.

The three full bedrooms and three baths were perfect for our stay. The garage was an added bonus. We were close enough to town for a quick run, but were in the country with a beautiful vista. Perfect for our needs!

We had a wonderful time! The house was just as described and pictured. It was the perfect location for our family holiday. The owners were most helpful in getting the driveway plowed, even on Christmas Eve so we could visit relatives in VT. Our family had fun playing pool, darts, board games, walking through the winter lights in Shelburne, skiing at Sugarbush and watching the last season of Stranger Things.

Really nice house for a group. The split layout spreads everyone out a little bit. Kids loved the game room downstairs. 5 minutes to downtown Waterbury. About 30 minutes to Stowe Resort. Would stay here again. Would not recommend you come here without four wheel drive in the winter

Beautiful Fall Oasis!

We loved staying in this home! It was a great layout with plenty of room for our group of 9. Our kids really enjoyed the pool table and we loved being close to everything in town but also tucked away on a private lot with the beautiful leaves. We’d totally stay here again!

Grad weekend

We had a fabulous time relaxing and enjoying Vermont and Grad activities. The location is great easy access to points north and south. The babbling Brook was a bonus, while relaxing on the deck.

Long ski weekend with Family

Overall this was a great property that maximized both the comfort of our family in the home as well as the location to all the greatness Vermont had to offer. We are thankful we chose it.

Perfect Duxbury Retreat

Beautiful home situated in a quiet Duxbury neighborhood next to a creek & picturesque surroundings. Home was extremely clean & exactly as described. Our extended family group comfortably congregated together but also had plenty of room to spread (appreciated by our teenagers). We especially enjoyed the expansive deck & updated kitchen with newer appliances. Numerous destinations/attractions are within easy driving distance. Julia is an attentive host & we hope to return soon!

Fall foliage getaway!

The communication between Julia and myself was really good, fast and informative. The house was as advertised and very comfy for our stay. We had 4 adults and a 14 month old. Beds were very comfy and the kitchen was stocked with all we needed to cook if we wanted. Nice outdoor deck with nice furniture and a grill. Just minutes outside Waterbury. Very quiet and lovely! Just a side note, we rented a baby crib, high chair and baby gate from Stowe Baby Rentals and they had it there waiting for us.

Great property and location

3 generations in the area for a wedding spent a wonderful weekend at this Duxbury house. The set up was perfect for us with grandparents upstairs in 2 bedrooms and parents & kid downstairs ( with full rec area and access to outdoors). We spent most of our time on the spacious deck enjoying the mountain air! The town of Waterbury was very close with cute restaurants which we took advantage of each night. The house itself was well appointed with good size rooms, kitchen and area to relax. And kudos to Julia the owner who was wonderfully prompt and gracious answering all my questions! Perfect weekend!

Wonderful and Relaxing Stay

Beautiful house, wonderful owner, and wicked awesome time by all! The house was very clean and Julia was great at answering our questions. It was great to have an upstairs space to sit and visit with family and friends and a downstairs space for people to watch TV and hang out playing games. It was great to be able to park in the garage and have the deck outside to relax when the weather was warmer. The master bath tub was incredible to relax in after a long hike at Camels Hump. Thank you for everything! We hope to be back again next year.

Great house for our family, and close to lots of shops and restaurants - Stowe was 35 minutes. House was clean, functional, and comfortable. Would stay again and would refer people here. We really appreciate detailed reviews when I am choosing a home to rent for our family, so just to be clear there are 3 actual bedrooms, each with a queen bed. 2 upstairs, and 1 downstairs. The other sleeping spaces are a futon in the middle of the downstairs- not private, and kinda cold at night since it was not in room, and then a set of bunk beds tucked into an alcove downstairs; also not private, kinda cold, no door - as the description says. Also - there are not enough towels and blankets in the house for the number of people it states it can sleep, so bring extras. There are minimal bath mats on cold, wet floors - something we always appreciate. The toilet paper situation was also thin and scratchy -- something about 'Vermont plumbing' was on the sign.....but it worked out. Kitchen worked great - lovely gas stove -no issues. Plenty of hot water for everyone to get hot showers after ski days! The plowing service and dependable warm garage and automatic were so fantastic when we had so much snow; we rally appreciated having the driveway plowed!

Thanks so much for your review and details and glad you enjoyed the home! I wish you would have mentioned the heat and towels during your stay so I could have made it right for you. Since the house is fairly new the heat is very efficient and the home can get very warm depending on where you set it including the downstairs - so always happy to help guests with working the Nest thermostats. Appreciate the note on towels and bath mats as well. We do ask our cleaners to be sure there's plenty and extra for all guests so I have relayed that to them as well and this has been corrected. thanks again and we'd love to have you back anytime!
