A log cabin snuggled upon a hill. This lower level apartment, is a cozy and comfortable space that feel relaxing, and invites quiet contemplation. Located near the vineyards and beaches have fun exploring the North Shore of Long Island. It's your ideal home away from home, ideally suited for a couple or a very small family.
The room is so cozy and perfect for two people plus one if they can fit comfortably on the couch! The amenities were just what we need!! The host was so accommodating and kind. Thank you!
It was perfect for everything we needed!
We have lived in the area for 33 years and moved to Florida so we knew the area! It was close to everything we needed!
Accommodations were perfect!
Clean was most important and this cute place certainly was that!!
Great stay!
We stayed at Patrickâs place for two days and can only recommend it. Not only was it cheaper for us than most of the hotels around, it was ideally located to explore Long Island and we had the privacy and space of staying in a local, residential area. The apartment itself was great, much bigger than anticipated, with a fully equipped kitchen, living room and a comfy bed. We would definitely stay again.
Place was a nice find. Relatively updated, clean and cute decor. Perfect for a short stay in a very beautiful area. Only recommendation I would have is it would be nice to have access to the private beach for the community, since there are no public ones...
Lovely, cozy (small) unit. Perfect for my husband and me. Simple, clean bright decor. Loved the lighting and smart tv! Patrick was wonderful host responding quickly with needed info.
Definitely we will come back again.
This place was close to my son and family to whom we visited for a week
Never met the host but that wasn't really necessary as entry was simple. Good wifi, tv and all our needs were met. Lots of niceties and although small the kitchen had a full sized fridge, oven, microwave and all dining essentials. The only downside was the mattress, as it is saggy, has no support and needs to be replaced.
This is not a full cabin rental as the ad seems to allude to but a downstairs unit. There are windows which makes it fine for us though.
In general we enjoyed our stay there and the neighborhood is beautiful.
We used this property as a home base for exploring Long Island and it is a good location for seeing the whole island including the south side beaches. 2+ hour drive to Montauk lighthouse but worth it. I agree with another reviewer that the listing is a bit misleading in that it implies you get the whole cabin, which you definitely do not. you get a basement apartment under the main cabin. However, my husband and I were quite content there- it is a cute space and roomy for 2 people with comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and nice TV. Parking is a bit dicey as you share it with the people living upstairs and it is tight even with a smaller car. The parking down on the street is a good option. Check in process was super easy and communication with the host was easy as well. Overall we were quite happy there.
First the positives, it was clean and it had everything needed for us. It was just two of us, I think any more than 2 two and it would be small. We were in town for the holiday and did not spend a lot of time in the rental. It was well equipped and safe.
As others have said, I didn't realize it was a basement apartment until we arrived and I looked closely at the listing. I tried to enter using the front door and the tenant upstairs was kind enough to redirect me. Because it is a basement under an occupied home, you did hear footfalls and other noise. The tenants upstairs were not loud at all, the noise couldn't be helped. There was also an air conditioner in the bedroom window and it let in a considerable draft. Not sure I would stay again, but it was much cheaper than hotels in the area and conveniently located.
I have a mixed opinion about our recent stay. I'll start by saying booking the cabin was easy and straightforward. The 'cabin' met our needs on a basic level and was clean. Other than that we found the posting for the cabin very misleading as we did not have the entire cabin as pictured, we only had a basement level 'quarters'. It was relatively dark with very little appeal. There were few decorations-a couple of pictures and 4 flameless candles, 3 of which had dead batteries. It definitely did not feel welcoming. The small size was not an issue for us being it was just my husband and myself, although the 'bedroom' barely fit the queen size bed. We had to search for toilet paper as the roll in the bathroom had only a few sheets left (we were relieved to find more), and the tissue box (not in the bathroom) was also left with only 1 sheet. Although the cabin was less expensive than the area hotels, it was not cheap and simple, inexpensive things would have made this feel more welcoming ie a bathmat, a few nicer hangers (only a few cheap, mismatched ones were in the tiny 2 closets), decent toilet paper (1 ply provided). The posting lead you to believe you were booking the actual cabin which you clearly are not. From a communication standpoint, although the booking was easy, I never received the email with instructions on the checkin/checkout process which created some angst until I finally reached someone while enroute that day. This was very frustrating = not best review
Enjoyed the stay , if you have any difficulty climbing a long driveway be careful our truck was to large and we had to park in street it was a dead end so not much of security issues there but just heads up. The deer peered threw the trees at night which was nice to watch. Very clean inside and out.
