Great Unit with Minor Issues

We’ve stayed at The Tides several times and have always enjoyed ourselves. This unit was very clean, comfortable, and well furnished. The views, as always, were spectacular. The issues we ran into were minor. As another reviewer pointed out, the kitchen could use more utensils and some plastic (not glass) cups. The guest bathtub would not drain despite adding Drano. Also, the ice maker wouldn’t dispense ice, although it made ice just fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this unit.

Fall Break 2024

We've spent several Fall Breaks at Tops'l over the years, trying different agencies, but Vacasa has been our best experience by far! 🌟 Renting through Vacasa gave us access to the clubhouse, which we haven't had with other rentals. Our unit was super clean and well-stocked to kick off our vacation. We'll definitely rent through them again!

Beautiful but sparse!

This condo is gorgeous and has an amazing view! It is clean and beautifully decorated. We loved our time here, but the kitchen needs some attention. It has minimal cookware, silverware and drinkware - and everything is glass. If you don't use the kitchen to cook dinners for your family, you'll be fine. But if you use the kitchen to actually cook meals, it may be a struggle.

Best View and Location On the Whole Beach

This unit has the best view you’ll find, especially for the price! It’s a lovely place that feels like home away from home. The owners put a lot of detail into it. Even with my not so positive reviews about the older washer/dryer combo, I still rate it as our favorite place to stay in the area!

Great Vacay at Tops’l Tides

This was our 3rd time staying at the Tides. As always the property was beautiful, clean and well maintained. Our family loves the views, the beach and the pools. We had a great time and can’t wait to book again.

Location! Location! location for a great vacation!

The beach view was one of the best we’ve ever had! The unit was clean and just the right size for our family. The only real complaint is that it’s carpeted and it’s old. We’ve been coming to Tops’l for many years. I say it’s time for the whole building to be updated and it’s probably in the works. The lower pool wasn’t very clean and needs renovation too. We noticed the adjacent building, Beach Manor has been remodeled a bit. Overall, it was a great vacation!

A beautiful view w/ a lot of potential…..but, currently as is, was NOT worth the price we paid!

We just returned from our week away at Tides 1005. We enjoyed the gorgeous view and sitting on the balcony! The Tides building has 3 elevators, so it’s easy to get up to the 10th floor (unlike other condos we’ve stayed at prior who usually only have only 1 elevator). The beach is pretty (even with lots of seaweed; summer season is always bad for seaweed) and sand is as beautiful as Caribbean islands. The wi-fi was fast and easy to do work on! And the gym/fitness center was really nice! However, the “cons” of this place far outweigh the “pros”. First and foremost, It does NOT have a sofa sleeper or beds for 6! It has a king in the master, a twin and full in the 2nd bedroom and no sofa sleeper. We had to go out and purchase an air bed. You get minimal supplies in the unit, so make sure to bring your own pillows, blankets, beach towels and be prepared to spend a fortune at the grocery store on simple items (that usually come in condos such as salt, pepper and other basic necessities…we left ours so hopefully it saves someone else the expense). Also, make sure you turn the refrigerator off “vacation” mode. We didn’t see it was on vacation mode until 1/2 way through our stay and all of our food went bad sooner than it should of. The dryer doesn’t dry at all! Anything heavier (like towels) has to be air dried as the dryer can’t dry them. The king bed in the master is the most uncomfortable bed we’ve ever slept in in all of our travels (and we travel a lot!). The jacuzzi tub did not work. In our attempt to get it to work, we saw just how disgustingly filthy it was (pubic hair all over in the faucets, tub and around the drain) and opted to just stay away from it. The Tides building was poorly taken care of. We saw many roaches (thankfully none in the actual condo) around the building. The pools were filthy! Tides and Tops’l pools were so dirty you couldn’t see someone swimming underwater! And there were tons of particles floating in both pools. With all the people in them, I can’t begin to imagine the germs! As a large family with small and handicapped children, It is not easy to get to the beach! You have to go past both pools, down stairs and through many gates and then walk the bridge over to the beach. The handicapped ramp at the tides building was in a very inconvenient spot and made getting to the beach even more difficult. When getting to the beach, you essentially HAVE to rent their chairs and umbrella as there is only a tiny area to the east that allows your own umbrellas and chairs. We rented 2 chairs and umbrellas for the week and then added our own chairs to our set up. The only problem with that is a lot of other families do the same and if you don’t set up early enough, you wont have much free space around your rented chairs. Security (if there is any) was awful. There were multiple occasions in which my kids were harassed by other guests. They used homophobic and racist slurs at my kids and threw a beer at my teenage son. All in all, we would not return to this condo as there are a lot of improvements that need to be made to the condo itself, and to the building, to charge the price we were charged. It has potential to be a beautiful place, but a lot needs to be addressed, both in the condo and throughout the building, for it to be worth the price we paid in July of 2022.

A Special Place

This is a special place. Traveling from central Florida as Ian approached, my wife and I stayed here to enjoy the beach. Upon arriving, we were awed by this spacious, beautiful getaway. Pictures do not do it justice. The balcony looks directly out over the gorgeous water, and we loved taking in the tranquil setting. We definitely plan to return.

Nice modern condo

Unit 1005 is roomy and very nicely furnished. Patio access from the bedroom and leaving room provide a wonderful view of the gulf. We had difficultly with the TVs and with getting to streaming apps. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Nice Location

Nice location and lots of space. The bathtub jets were broken and the plugs in the master bathroom do not work. That was an issue. Other than that a good room.
