Near Tenmile River, Appalachian Trail, Bulls Bridge, nature preserves, farmers market. Skiing 30 mins away - Mohawk, Thunder Ridge, and others. 10-min drive to park, playground, tennis/bball courts, ballfields, and HV/Wingdale Metro North stop. Nearby cute towns: Pawling, Millbrook, Millerton, & Kent, CT.
Four women stayed there for four nights, and we were very comfortable & content! The sun room was our go-to place, and the porch was also very inviting. Beds all comfy, rooms each a delight. Be sure to read all there is to see and do (from owner) - lots within easy reach, though we probably enjoyed the local hikes the most. There's a Hannafords within 15 min. south on 22, just FYI. Enjoy and give great reviews - it's worth it!!
Just the best property to stay at. Walking around the grounds was incredibly peaceful and reading in the sun room when it rained was a beautiful experience.
Host, Joe, was wonderful - kind, communicated promptly, etc. The property had a room with a TV with lots of toys for my grandson to play (I sure hope we put things back properly as all was well organized when we arrived). The location and house set up worked for us as it was in close proximity to family in the Gaylordsville, CT area. There appeared to be no AC, so it did get a bit hot during the humid day, but cooled off at night with windows open. Instructions for check-out could possible be simplified (ie. turning off water heater circuit in basement; we did not notice a compost bucket that we were to empty and return to refrigerator) but we did our best! Thank you for the nice quaint clean home to enjoy our family. We would rent again.
If you need a peaceful getaway in nature but not too far from groceries, towns, and other people, this is an ideal property for you. We will not be around, so the house is yours.
