Welcome to an oasis of calm in the middle of nature within commuting distance of NY (1.30 hour drive and 20 mins to Metro North). Swim in the summer (pool and lake); ski in the winter; relax at home with a glass of wine after enjoying a sauna or after exploring one of the many trails and small towns CT and the Berkshires offer.
Even though you are hidden on 3 acres at the end of a private road, within minutes you will find of everything you need (town, cinema, supermarket, outdoor tennis...).
We stood for a week. The most relaxing week ever. Host gave us the best hospitality making sure everything was ok through messages. The property is very private far from other houses very clean and quiet. The inside of house very clean. Kitchen had everything you needed for cooking. Beds were comfortable. What we used the most was the backyard beautiful grill barbecue setup to relax outdoors. And the amazing pool 8ft deep to refresh in. Privacy relaxation and good times will be remembered. I am 100 percent sure anyone that will rent this place will have a great time. Thank you for everything. All for the best.
Really great house for a long weekend. The pool was perfect, we used the side yard for games with the family, and we ate on the deck and the gazebo everyday. We also used the sauna every day. Locally we went to the vineyard and did some hikes in the area. Thomas was a great host as well. 2pm checkout was also a huge plus because we are fairly local so we could use the pool the day of checkout as well. Overall I would highly recommend.
We are an Italian (Rome) and French-American (New York and Metz) couple with a young child. We fell in love with this house and it is a reflection of who we are, a mix of modern and traditional, fun and serious. Please don't hesitate to ask us about the house, the area...we love it here and hope you will to.
Living in Sherman feels like stepping into a postcard.
You are steps away from numerous amazing small towns (Kent, Millerton, New Millford), easy access to both Candlewood Lake and the rolling hills of the Berkshires. Whether itâs sipping wine at White Silo Farm & Winery, hiking the trails at Deer Pond Farm, catching a show at the Sherman Playhouse, going to the Trevor Zoo or exploring the cultural gems of the Berkshires like Tanglewood and the Norman Rockwell Museum, thereâs plenty to do.
And once you get to the fall season, itâs leaves leaves leaves đ
