"Riverrun Retreat" Cottage along the Deschutes River, near Downtown Bend
Welcome to "Riverrun Retreat" one of our most well appointed cottages on property. This cottage is so close to the water that you can't get much closer without getting wet! You are so to enjoy yourself in this cottage. The king sized bed offers sleeping for 2 and you will not have a better view from the cottage.
This unit is one of the only cottages on property to offer a private patio. Enjoy a morning cup of Joe or an afternoon adult beverages as you soak up those sun rays. The walking trail is right out your front window so if you enjoy people watching like I do, then this will have tons of walkers to see passing by! But don't worry, out cottage windows have a slight tint to them to help keep the privacy of you and your guests on the inside!
While staying with us you will have the luxury of access to an indoor heated pool and hot tub! After taking a dip in the pool you can come back to the central AC to cool down even more on those warm summer days, and in the winter you can snuggle up next to the fireplace after being at Mount Bachelor skiing all day!
Fabulous studio on the river and greenway! Open the door or window and your there, 10 feet from the greenway and River. Old Dâtown is easy 5 minute walk , and greenway goes on thru town and out into the forest. For cyclists you can leave from the front door and be on bike path for 6 miles leading into the Nat Forest with boundless biking trails. Perfect spot for those lucky enough to get it!
The view was very good. We enjoyed being able to sit outside to watch & listen to the Deschutes River. When we walked in I was overwhelmed with the strong smell of either floor cleaner or air freshener. It gave me a sore throat, cough & headache! It was after 7 so the office was closed. I wrote an email to the manager. We talked the following day & maid mopped the floor with clean water. We were airing it out when the smoke arrived from the fires & we had to close up the windows. We talked with another guest who said a homeless looking guy walked into their unit because she forgot to lock the door. That ruled out enjoying the nice fresh air.We had to use air conditioning. It worked well and was relatively quiet. The refrigerator was on almost constantly and was noisy. It made it difficult to fall & stay asleep. Both the pool and jacuzzi were cloudy & had accumulated body oils/soil. The pool was cold & jacuzzi luke warm. A photo is included. The tub needs a grab bar to safely climb in and out of the shower. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. We could feel every movement our partner made. The side chairs, coffee table, and bedding needs to be updated. We were there for 3 nights & had to prepay so we tolerated it.We are travelers and have never been this disappointed before.
In general this is a nice spot, located close to town and in a cozy space. We appreciated the view of the river, a working thermostat, kitchenette, quiet unit with no loud neighbors, and itâs quite a bit of space given itâs a studio. Some notes for management to address are that the shower water pressure is bad, and the fridge is loud. That said, it was a pleasant stay overall and worked well for us and our dog.
Great location. Amazing view.Comfortable accommodations.
We spent a very comfortable 3 days. We hiked 12 miles along the river one day. Breathtaking views. The unit was very comfortable. Nice bed.Only downside was poor water pressure in the shower, so we ended up taking baths.
After figuring out how to navigate the parking lot to find where this unit was located (really the only challenge of my stay), this proved to be a perfect spot for my quick visit to Bend. It's an easy and convenient walk to downtown and beyond. Would definitely stay here again as a great place to base for a visit to Bend.
We were right on the river trail. Walked into town daily. Everything was great. Will stay again. It was a little difficult finding our room when arriving. Also, pool was closed as we booked to have a swim with our grandkids. Otherwise, a good value for our vacation dollar.
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
Not what expected.
The property was bare bones, no floor lamp, no area carpet on vinyl floor. Shower head produced a very weak spray. Outside patio was a bit dangerous with loose pavers, very old air conditioner which kept us awake.
My husband and I love the Deschutes, and we were looking forward to staying at a property on the River-but this rental was a disappointment for the most part. The facility is dated-with some nice upgrades-but mostly cosmetic fixes. The shower strength was laughable, and the cabinets in the âkitchenâ area were old/cheap. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable Iâve ever experienced in a VRBO property. But the most disappointing was the heat pump directly beneath our window-so when we wanted to crack the window at night to listen to the River, all we could hear was the noise from the heat pump!! I would not recommend this property.
I especially enjoyed having a kitchenette to prepare my own food. I sat on the Patio in the evenings to listen to the river and watch 2 Canada geese going about their business. It's a very well- appointed unit, my only suggestion is to put the toaster within reach. I loved the fireplace.
A perfect place, just a 10 minute walk from downtown via the Deschutes River Trail right at your back door. Very clean, comfortable bed, well-stocked kitchenette, and nice chairs for tv watching. Loved it!
The property was perfect for me and my husband. You are right on the Deschutes River Trail. The photos you see from the back window are exactly what it looks like. It is a short 10 minute walk to downtown via the trail, where there are tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping. The property management group was great to work with. I called them about possibly checking in a little early. They got back with me quickly and we were able to get in early. Very nice place to stay! Highly recommend!
