Welcome to Sugar Sands, a charming and intimate vacation treasure on the shores of beloved Madeira Beach. Sugar Sands offers a peaceful beachside experience with only three condos sharing a private pool and secluded beach. This lovely tropical oasis is just steps from the beautiful beach and laden with exotic and fragrant greenery, tropical huts, a BBQ grill, and outdoor showers. Sugar Sands A is on the ground floor and offers the easiest of beach vacations!

A unique blend of Florida fishing village, residential community and tourist destination contribute to an original vibe that is Madeira Beach. Mad Beach, as it's affectionately referred to, is that curious mixture of history, progress, and stability which, when paired with the perfect weather of Florida's Gulf Coast, makes for a delightful community. Measuring only two miles long, this small seaside gem draws beach lovers to its pristine white sandy beaches. Madeira Beach is home to John's Pass Village and with six public parks, boat-accessible restaurants, charter boats, and dolphin watch cruises, it has something for everyone. Dog-friendly beaches include Bicentennial Park, Fort Desoto Park, and Boca Ciega Millennium Park.

This first-floor gem offers the living area and bedroom open to the pool and deck area. Find all the comforts of home with a nicely appointed kitchen with breakfast bar and handy sofa bed. The main bedroom has plenty of storage to unpack and unwind, and a TV. Beach towels, beach chairs, two kayaks, and two paddleboards are available.

One dog is welcome! Breeds not allowed: Akita, Australian Blue Heeler, Boxer, Bull Mastiffs, Chow, Dalmatian, Doberman, English Bulldog, Great Dane, Husky (any type), Malamute, Mastiff (any variation), Pit Bulls, Presa Canarios, Rottweiler, Saint Bernard, and Wolf-dog Hybrid.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Tiny slice of paradise!

This condo was so secluded and perfect for what I was wanting out of my beach vacation! I absolutely loved my stay and don't have much to complain about. Place was clean and comfy, beautiful location and I'll definitely be back!

Great location close to the beach, clean condo & the area is quiet. However if someone is staying in the penthouse you hear everything moving on the floor above you!

Anniversary trip

Came down for a week long anniversary trip. Location was great! Pool could use an update, they were working on the deck while we were there but the actual pool looks older. Cindi was just the right size for us!

Love the access to the beach!

The beach access is great. Open the slider and you are there. I do wish you could see the beach from the deck. The plastic panels prevent you from the full effect. I understand the purpose, but it really does detract from the beautiful view.

Cozy spot with great beach access.

We had a great experience lounging by the pool and beach access. It was awesome for kids coming in and out all day. It wasn’t fancy- but good enough if you plan to spend most of the time outdoors. King bed was very comfortable. My kids slept on the pullout couch. The couch was dirty- but we removed the cushions to use the pullout. The house offered 4 beach towels, shared chairs, paddle boards which we used. I would stay again!

Left after day 1 of 3. Sofa was filthy and stained (unlike listing photo). Pool contained layer of sand on bottom and leaves. Compressed fiberglass bathroom door was leaking fiberglass onto bathroom floor.

Great location for an old condo

Pros: great location steps from the white sand and beautiful water. You can't get closer beach access unless you're camping in the sand. Madeira is a lovely beach town. Unit was a short walk to restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy. Cons: unit is older and a bit shabby. Supplies were basic. The advertised paddle boards and canoe were all damaged and unusable. All filled with water and should be replaced or removed. We constantly heard noise from the neighbors upstairs playing pool and dragging chairs across the floor. The pool was advertised as heated but too cold to swim in March. Overall, we enjoyed the great location but the unit could use some love and updating.

Not for me

Unfortunately, this property was not for me. First, the good: great location, great beach, nice pool nice lounge chairs around the pool. The not so good: I found the bed very uncomfortable but that is a very subjective opinion. Everyone has different preferences for mattresses. There were only a few hangers in the closet and they were either wire hangers or the plastic kind that you would get if you bought something at Walmart. The extra chairs at the pool were a mess, just piled on top of each other so it was impossible to tell what kind of chair it was or if it was broken or not. Finally the unit itself was in dire need of maintenance. For example, the patio door handle was attached to the door with just one screw so it was just hanging there swinging when you tried to use it. The part I couldn’t deal with was the noise from the upstairs neighbours. They were partying until 2am at one point doing something that sounded like banging on the side door of my unit. They also left all their belongings around the pool at the end of the day. At 1am I got up and turned on the kitchen light and saw 2 cockroaches scurry across the counter and down to the floor. By 2am I had decided I couldn’t stay and booked a nearby hotel for the remaining 2 nights. The nice couple in the other ground floor unit told me they return to this property annually so they obviously enjoy it and have had a much different experience to me. All-in-all, not only would I not return, I couldn’t even stay the remaining 2 nights. Not for me.

Perfect Location

The location of this rental was the best. We were right on the beach and walked every where. There were all the restaurants, bars and shopping that you could want, with in a mile. We walked to Bula every morning for coffee and ate at Frabotta's 3 times for supper while we were there for a week! Such great food and service! Getting into the condo was easy with no issues. Parking was great, right next to our door and was covered. Also had another parking spot in the lot for another car. The condo was spacious and bedroom was very large with a king bed. The foot wash station was great too coming in from the beach to get off the sand. You also have an outside shower right next to your indoor shower so if you wanted you could pass your shampoo and soap back and forth thru the window! I wish the penthouse had their own outdoor shower though because they used the one that seemed like it should belong to our unit since it was next to our indoor shower with a window dividing them. Window is frosted, don't worry! Just a little weird when you are in your bathroom and can hear strangers talking so close to you. Pool is pretty and nice to just hear the waterfall noise, but it is not heated. It was about the same temperature as the ocean, which was about maybe 60 degrees. The beach was nice and quiet in front of this condo which we loved. Not a whole bunch of people which was surprising since there are 2 large high rise condos on each side. Overall we had a really great time staying here. It was a completely different experience than what we were expecting. We had actually rented a different condo in Indian shores that we had stayed at before and 3 days before our trip Vacasa called and said the unit was no longer available. So we had our choice between this unit and a high rise, which we knew we didn't want a high rise. So this was our option. And we were pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed it. I would recommend!

Great Location

Can’t beat the location, literally steps from the beach. Had everything we needed. Only complaint is that the bed was extremely hard, like sleeping on cardboard.

Not worth the money

Sadly this property and the amenities were not well cared for clean. During our two week stay we were never contacted by the property manager even though we emailed twice with concerns. Trash on the grounds and by the pool was never picked up. The pool was not heated and you couldn’t enter it. The deck was still under construction. The towels were thin and stained. Toaster oven door didn’t close. And there was a huge stain on the couch. The place has potential due to the wonderful location, but not currently worth your money.

Peace and quiet getaway

The condo was amazing!! Very clean, everything you needed was at hand! The private pool was amazing! The beach was great!! The industrial size washer and dryers were great! Had a wonderful time!
