Spacious House North of Gunnison, Close to the Bus Stop.
A peaceful 3-story, 3 bedroom + loft house on a beautiful property with a large pond and a big yard. The house is located just north of Gunnison, on the way to Crested Butte. The house is 25 miles from Crested Butte, in the middle of all the great outdoor recreational activities. We can help you plan any outings, from whitewater rafting to skiing, biking, climbing, or hiking. This house can be your base camp. It is perfect for a relaxing getaway or to prepare your Western State Colorado University student a home-cooked meal. (Please leave your furry friends at home when staying at this property.)
Great place for an extended family stay. Clean, quiet and peaceful. Room for everyone to spread out or hang together. We will definitely stay again when we visits Gunnison.
Booked this house in March for a late July stay. Was the only thing I could find to accommodate the size of my family. 6 adults, 4 kiddos and it was just perfect. Could not have been more pleased. Hosts went above and beyond preparing for us some damages from last guests. Were finishing up when we arrived. We will be back!
All of us (5) traveling to visit family in Gunnison are between 60 and 74 years of age. We loved watching the goats and their kids (and petting them) as well as the other domestic animals and wildlife. It was a very pretty and relaxing setting. The grill was great and loved being able to sit on the patio and enjoy the fire.
Interestingly enough this home belonged to my son's former employer before his retirement and move out of state. So it was easy for my son and his family to find us at our rental. They had been there many times in the past.
A couple of things that would have improved our stay and rating of the property.
There were wet towels hanging in the bathroom in the basement on our arrival.
That bathroom tub/shower was extremely slick and very unsafe. My brother and SIL had to stop using it as they were afraid of falling. (And they were the youngest of us 5 staying there!)
The Smart TV is located in the master bedroom upstairs and did not work. It
didn't kill us to not watch TV of course. After all, we were there to see family that we hadn't seen in two years.
The kitchen pot rack above the stove was very dirty.
A few more places to sit in the living room would be helpful. We brought in our lawn chairs to use when family came to eat with us or hang out. Also used some of the lawn chairs from the patio on occasion.
By the way, we all enjoyed the pool table, even though my son whooped up on us all!
There were ten of us and we had plenty of room for all. The sleeping loft was perfect for the two children and two teens. The kitchen was very large and well equipped. However, the oven door was faulty but we were made aware of it when we checked in and though it worked it was inconvenient. We all enjoyed the pool and ping pong table but missed having a table to gather around for mealtime. The living area was very spacious as were the bedrooms. The three levels provided privacy but the steps were somewhat difficult for the older guest and for a grandson with disability. We enjoyed the lovely pond with the ducks and geese. We enjoyed our stay very much..
