Delightful week in Dordogne

Our stay at this property was nothing short of spectacular! The grounds are absolutely stunning, with plenty of space for our adult family of eight to relax, unwind, and fully enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We truly couldn’t have asked for better hosts than Adeline and Wulf – they went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable! Not only did they organise exciting events for us before we even arrived, but they also generously offered to walk our puppy so we could enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime balloon flight without a worry in the world. The charming town of Lalinde, just a short distance away, boasts a wonderful selection of restaurants, and the nearby villages offer even more delightful dining options. With lively market days and delightful local wine tastings, there was never a dull moment during our stay. We’re already spreading the word to all our friends – this is truly a getaway gem!

Husbands 60th Birthday Celebration

I booked our visit as a surprise for my husband, and it couldn’t have been better. The house and grounds are beautiful. Adeline from our first conversation couldn’t have been more helpful with recommendations and ideas for celebrating.. I managed to surprise my husband with a Balloon flight and we had a wonderful afternoon wine tasting at the villa with Vince from Dordorgne wine tours , both were amazing and a must if you stay here
 On our arrival Adeline & Wulf had decorated the lounge with balloons and banners and left a lovely gift basket , it was a great way to start the surprises and celebrations to come.. Nothing was too much trouble for them and it was so nice to receive a message to check all was going well and that if we needed anything just to call .. They even came to wave us off on our last day 😊 We look forward to returning one day and too seeing Adeline & Wulf 😊

Unvergessliche Dordogne!

Wir haben es sehr genossen und Ferien verbracht, wie man sie sich nur wĂŒnschen kann. Wundervolles Interieur, stilvoll gestaltete GebĂ€ude auf einem sehr gepflegten und großzĂŒgigen GrundstĂŒck ließen keine WĂŒnsche offen. Mit Blick auf die umgebenden Felder oder in der Liege unter dem Feigenbaum wĂŒnscht man sich, die Zeit möge nicht enden. Weltgewandte und sehr freundliche Vermieter stehen einem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, wenn man es wĂŒnscht. Ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt.

Lovely house

Our family group had a relaxing two weeks here. Plenty of space for us all and lovely gardens. The owners were super helpful and we really enjoyed the area, peaceful and quiet but loads to do and see. We did some beautiful walks and loved the little restaurant in Molieres.

We are Wulf and Adeline from..
Uhm, that's sometimes hard to describe.
Adeline is Dutch. Moved around in the Netherlands and traveled the world for a couple of years. Wulf has German and English ancestry, was born in Indonesia, and grew up in Singapore. After that, he lived on different continents.
We met on an Expedition ship to Antarctica and sailed around for 7 weeks on the Atlantic ocean. We found out that we wanted to stay together, we had a beautiful opportunity thrown in our lap and 9 months later we loaded the car, drove to the Dordogne, and never left. We absolutely love this region in France/ Europe. We love to travel (again) but in the meantime, we hope that travelers will enjoy our piece of paradise as much as we do.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

La Maison Louverie was our home for a couple of years since we had a bed and breakfast here. We lived among our guests and we are left with great memories and good friendships. But times changed and we decided that the house had grown up and was ready to host its guests by itself.. The house has a very long history and interesting stories about it, with a good spirit. The house is spacious, has so much character and the garden and the field are just happy places. It doesn't matter if you are with 2 people or with 10, the house always fits. With the view of the living room (and all bedrooms), you must feel nothing else than peace. The view is green (in the autumn amazingly orange, gold and red), and it's easy to live inside or out. The garden is perfect for exploring, kids and dogs, and with the gate, to the private field (another 3 hectares) you can jog, run, play, smell flowers or just sit in the grass. It is often called a piece of paradise by our BnB guests and we absolutely agree with that!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The unique benefits of La Maison Louverie are: that you are in a natural environment with a lot of private space. And even though it's an old farmhouse (till the 70s) the interior is now a mix of classic and stylish furniture with a wink to the East but blended with European warmth and comfort. The great location of Louverie: is 3 km south of the Dordogne river, on a hill surrounded by forest (great for hiking), and above the river is the town Lalinde where there are supermarkets, plenty of restaurants/bars, pharmacies, bakeries, a tourist information point, hairdressers, beauty salons, some clothing stores and a great market on Thursday morning. In Molieres, 3 km down the hill there is a really nice pub. And close by in the region, there are so many good restaurants (+ Michelin stars), musea, bastide villages, food markets and vineyards to visit. Not to forget the 1000+ Chateaus in the area... Plenty of opportunities to explore nature with hiking, mountain biking (or electric bike) quad riding, horse riding, canoeing...You are LITERALLY right in the middle of all the good things the Dordogne has to over. And some things are just a stone's throw away. (Bergerac airport 20 km) And in the midst of all that hustle and bustle and the tourists in the summer months, there is La Maison Louverie: A private retreat, a tranquil home base, a home away from home.
