Welcome to the Waterfront Cottage at The Gables in the charming town of Reedville, Va! The Cottage is only a few steps from the water's edge making it an idyllic location for expansive water views. It is the perfect place to unwind, recharge and appreciate all the wonders of nature.
It was a lovely cottage. We felt very welcome from the minute we walked in. The view of the water were spectacular. We were able to watch the sunrise from the living room. The kitchen had everything to cook a meal. The bathroom was spacious. The entire cottage was immaculate.
The cottage was wonderful! So clean, comfortable and welcoming! The host was very responsive and nice as well. This is a great place to go to relax and have a quiet peaceful vacation. I would definitely book again!
Everything was more than what we needed. Thankful for the extra heater in the bathroom, make up vanity and mirror. The view was great, and could not be any closer to the water!
Quiet, clean cottage in a beautiful little town. The place was immaculate and had great views of the water. The fishermenâs museum down the street is a must see. A short drive to the village of Kilmarnock with more museums, shops, and antiques. Make sure to take one of the ships to Tangier Island.
This unique cottage was perfect. It was exactly like it was advertised and spotless. Beautiful views, quaint and most enjoyable. I highly recommend and will come back. 10 stars in my book.
Absolutely recommend!! The views of this waterfront property were incredible and the hospitality shown to us by Kristy Lee was 5/5!! We could not have asked for a better stay on our vacation! We will definitely be back in the future!
We loved our stay at this waterfront cottage in the charming town of Reedville. The cottage was well appointed with everything you need and we had a wonderfully relaxing weekend! The view of the water from the cottage is amazing and we even enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the boats. We will be back!
My hubby & I decided to take a road trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary away from hustle and bustle of life. We were welcomed w/ the aroma of fresh sea air and the serene flow of water. The accommodations were so well thought out by the owners of the establishment as you were left with a feeling of comfort. It was very clean, nicely decorated & very quiet. Just what the "soul" yearned for. It was hard to leave! We highly recommend staying at this very charming B&B. It will be on the top of your list! Cheers to the owners for a "tasteful" job well done (a home, away from home)!!
Kristy is the perfect hostess. This cottage is a five star quality place to stay with beautiful waterfront views. Reedville is a charming historical fishing town. The downtown Main street has many charming Victorian homes built in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There are quaint restaurants and an ice cream parlor within walking distance. We can't say enough about the friendly and helpful owners, the Lees. We highly recommend their cottage!
Iâve lived in northern Virginia for most of my life while raising 4 children. We discovered Reedville a couple years ago while searching for a vacation spot. We fell in love with the welcoming people, the laid back spirit and the natural surroundings. My husband retired from his Washington, DC job in order to make a permanent move to Reedville. We were lucky enough to purchase the Gables and are now embarking on a new adventure as bed and breakfast owners.
The Gables is an iconic, federally registered historic landmark which welcomed guests for many years. As new owners, we are remodeling the Victorian and the Coach House Inn with plans to re-open as a bed and breakfast. In the meantime, we are inviting guests to stay at the Waterfront Cottage, an open studio with cathedral ceilings, which has hosted visitors from all over the world. Due to the ongoing renovations, the Victorian and the Coach House Inn will not be accessible at this time. We hope that your Cottage stay will move you to repeat your visit so that we can provide a full tour of this historically significant property once the renovations are done. Until then, we encourage you to bring your fishing gear and/or kayak and enjoy the opportunity to fish, crab, harvest oysters and relax on the hammock. We also invite you to simply walk around and do nothing while taking in the amazing views of Cockrell's Creek.
Guests will have full access to all the outdoor spaces. When all renovations are done, all outdoor spaces will be a shared; however, at this time, only cottage guests are using the grounds. There is a patio with a charcoal grill, a wood burning pizza oven, a gas stove, a gas fire pit, wood burning fire pit and plenty of outdoor seating. All outdoor cooking gear is equipped with the essentials (fire starter, charcoal, wood, tongs, thermometer, etc.). The docks are available for fishing, crabbing or just taking in the views. There is also a fully stocked wood burning fire pit area which is an ideal place for relaxing while star gazing. The hammock and love seat swing are also splendid ways to while away the hours.
