Pet friendly, steps to the ocean. Views of the Pacific from every room
The Cove House is a charming, pet friendly, upscale home within a stone's throw from the ocean. This unique home boasts lots of redwood, beautiful stained glass, oriental carpets and a cozy atmosphere. There are two bedrooms with comfy beds and plush linens. The main bedroom is an open loft concept so there is no door. The guest bedroom also has great views and is very private. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked so you can feel at home as soon as you arrive. Enjoy high speed Star Link internet. The tv is equipped with satellite channels for your enjoyment. There is a deck upstairs to give you a bird's eye view of your surroundings. The lower deck has a BBQ and deck chairs. Bring your boat, there is plenty of parking on the adjacent lot. Looking for a place for a working vacation? The Cove House has a desk with a view of the Pacific, comfortable office chair and extra fast internet. If you are more inclined to outdoor activities the beach, tidepools, hiking fishing and surfing are all available on the Lost Coast. There is a Brewery with great food, a Venezuelan Restaurant, pizza and a deli available for your convenience. And don't forget the stargazing! Our night skies are amazing. We hope to see you very soon!
Great home for a relaxing getaway cabin home. All the necessities, including a great kitchen and grill. We enjoyed our time here and loved the proximity to the ocean.
Lovely house (apart from stairsâthe raised edges made it uncomfortable to come down them sans shoes). Very cozy, beautiful stained glass insets throughout. Location was amazing. quiet and enjoyable. Made for a very relaxing vacation.
This was a really great visit, once again, explored more, husband went ocean fishing this time, met some really wonderful fisherman. Returning shortly. Thanks for everything!
This is our second time coming to Shelter Cove and renting the same house. It's always clean, you can find everything you need to cook, and this house's location is just a 1m walk from the ocean.
This is a very comfortable home, located just off Lower Pacific Drive, which follows the rocky coastline. Although there are homes on the ocean side of this road, there are also frequent public access areas, making this a great place for morning and afternoon walks with my pup. I enjoyed the nearby coffee shop, with stunning views from the patio, but more than anything, I enjoyed
the beauty and relaxed atmosphere of Shelter Cove. Deer visited this home daily and at night, in the distance, I loved hearing the night bark of the sea lions. I will be back!
This quaint, cozy home was exactly what my family was looking for as a holiday hideout on the coast! We were able to cook, grill, relax, walk, golf, and frequent both the brewery and pizza place nearby (both fantastic). This was our first time in Shelter Cove and it is both remote and beautiful. We loved hearing the ocean roar, watching the deer on their daily visits, and catching beautiful sunsets between rainy days. The home was clean and comfortable, with soft bedding and plenty of comfy towels. Alessandra was helpful and communicative, giving us a heads up that we could access the trash cans on trash day (very helpful as you must otherwise keep all trash stashed inside the home due to wildlife and the cans being kept in a locked space inaccessible to guests). We also really enjoyed the artwork throughout the home, including stained glass and lovely photography. If you are looking to truly "get away" and enjoy the Lost Coast, this is wonderful place to do it!
We visit this property/location multiple times, as we simply enjoy and power down here. This area is serene and displays mother nature at her finest; always an peaceful adventure and added exploration.
Kindest Regards,
Corrina
Had a wonderful time, password for internet was wrong. Windows need of cleaning. Maybe a little microwave would have been nice. Overall we enjoyed the house.
The home was located right near the ocean as it claimed. Very nicely furnished and lovely artwork adorned the walls. I loved the stain glass windows as well. The house was very clean and supplied with fresh linens on beds and in bathrooms. One of the toilets was not working when we arrived. I texted the owner and she sent someone over to fix it with in 30 minutes. Very much appreciated the quick response! We all enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, warm, and lovely home.
The house was nice and you have an ocean view from almost every room. Both bedrooms are upstairs and share a bathroom. The master bedroom is open, no doors. There was just the two of us so no issues with privacy.
The host left a nice gift basket with snacks, however, there wasn't any coffee đ The cupboards contained lots of old outdated food. Furniture was ok, everything seemed to be old.
The property is located within walking distance of a couple of established restuarants, the lighthouse located on Point Delgado, and also tide pools that are exposed at low tides for viewing of wildlife. We were visited by local deer herds multiple times during daylight hours. Our stay was primarily our annual fishing trip for coastal rock fishing. Our boat broke down on day 2 of 6, so we spent the time visiting local areas we never spent much time with before, and took drives to some remote areas such as Whitehorne and the Mattole River. The house was completely stocked as mentioned in the adds, Allessandra was accurate in her photos. The one thing that we brought along that came in handy was a folding table for the lower deck patio which allowed us to eat outside. The internet is ok, sometimes a little slow, but the location is great for cellular coverage on most providers.
This house is about 100 feet away from the oceanâŠone can see the water and hear the waves quite nicely. Since Shelter Cove has not been fully built up, there is plenty of empty space around this house and it feels wonderful. The place is quite clean and the furnishings are well appointed. It has 1) a great washer and dryer, 2) real hot water (versus those places that only offer very warm water!), 3) sleep number beds, 4) gas cooking (versus those terrible electric ranges), satellite TV with hundreds of stations, a good heater that responds well to the thermostat. There are several places to eat around hereâŠa couple of bars and grills, a pizza place, and a Venezuelan restaurant (quite popular but only open a few days a week). There is a small grocery store with limited items. (Best bet is to bring supplies in). The only caveat I have to mention is to warn light sleepersâŠthe master bedroom is a loftâŠwhich means one hears EVERY sound in the house. I could hear the coffee percolating, refrigerator doors opening and, of course, the TV downstairs. Our family had to instigate rules if someone was trying to sleepâŠâplease talk in muffled tones, keep the TV sound down real low, and walk quietly throughout the houseâ. That plan worked fineâŠand of course, if you are a heavy sleeper, there is no problem.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed the well thought out and appointed property. The natural wood accents and stain-glass artwork adorning the home was beautiful. Expansive views of the pacific ocean and the mountains abound from *every* room, nook, and corner! Extremely quiet neighborhood.
We chilled out in this cozy 2BR/2BA two-level home just a few steps away from the rugged lost-coast in Shelter Cove. We brought in our groceries since this was a one-hour drive (one-way in/out) from Hwy 101, but the host has ample supplies of condiments stocked up if you planned to cook during your stay. We didn't get a chance to meet the owners but Alessandra, the host/manager was wonderful in answering all of our questions and was a pleasure to work with. We will most certainly be back! Shelter Cove is yet to be fully discovered. :-)
One thing we missed is the ability to charge our EV overnight (since the drive to the nearest supercharger is close to 2 hours away). I believe the homeowner is planning to install one next year, so that's really encouraging.
Our first trip to Shelter Cove and this was a great place to stay. Super close to the ocean with several parks very close walking distance along the coast. Lots of wildlife around to watch with deer and fox hanging around the house. We recommend this place.
Alessandra was great, we couldn't figure out how the TV worked so she came over, called the owner, and had us up and running in no time.
If we had a question, we would text her, and she would get right back to you with an answer,
I really couldn't want a better host.
The property was very nice also. Almost to nice for a vacation home.
This home is a keeper of a getaway. We have visited this home/area for at least 4 to 5 years, & at least 2x a year now. This was a great find. Appreciate nature and all her surroundings. People are so friendly, fisherman share their catch, Gyppo ale mill is enjoyable. Safe and clean area. Humboldt County has MUCH to offer.
