Welcome to the Wind in the Willow, a beautiful canal-front home in tranquil Brigand's Bay and situated on a beautiful property. Shade trees, flower gardens, and nature abounds with birds singing and fish jumping. You'll have a 40-foot boat dock, a fish-cleaning station on one end, and access steps to the water on the other end. This home features a bench in the shade of a willow tree for relaxing, plus access out to the Pamlico Sound. Beautiful oversized yard for all kinds of outdoor fun.

Your group will love this home, and after a great day on the water, you can relax and enjoy the wonderful views. Unwind after a long day at the beach on one of the three outdoor decks. The main level has a large screened porch and open sundeck. The second-floor deck is shaded and open to the canal front with great views. The private front porch is great for that first-morning coffee. Enjoy a fresh fig from the fig tree in season. Have a great time in the third-floor game room with open sound views. Featuring a full-size Ping-Pong table, pop-a-shot, board games, toys, and books. For evenings on the Observation Deck, enjoy a breathtaking view of the stars in the Hatteras Sky.

The first guest bedroom is a primary with a queen bed and is located on the main level, for those who may need easier access. Located on the second level, is another primary bedroom with a king bed. The second guest bedroom has a single bed and a bunk bed. The second-floor guest loft has a full-size futon. There is a third-floor bedroom with a king bed. All bedrooms have access to a full bath. Brigand's Bay is a family community providing a great place for kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, crabbing, bike rides, and so much more.

Great place, awesome location!

Nice house

We loved the gas range, the kitchen was well appointed. The top deck is off limits to guests, that was disappointing. We were expecting to be able to access it.

The great Wind in the Willow

This house, being in a community, is a great location to relax and unwind. We had a great time relaxing on the dock and catching fish. The house has plenty of space for everyone. The only negative for this home would be the steps. Having to haul your gear up all the flights of steps could be daunting for some after a long drive. The management company was really responsive on a couple of things we had concerns with, so besides the steps, the house is a great place to stay.

Beautiful home on the water

House is absolutely wonderful. Pleanty of room and close to the bay. Enjoyed fishing and crabbing off the dock. Would absolutely stay again if in the Hatteras area. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Nice property, but couldn’t get service during stay

When we checked in, we found that the cleaners had missed dog poop left in one of the bedrooms. Unfortunately we had stepped on it, so the area carpet needed cleaning to remove it. I called Outer Banks Tealty and Vacasa about it, and no one came out to clean or remove the carpet. It’s a really nice home and great location. They just need better property management.

Broken AC

Our family stayed there at summer 2022 and have broken AC in the middle of summer (>90F). This was unbearable and totally unacceptable and honestly why I felt compelled to write this review. It is rare that our entire family, with some who live across the country, can take off at the same time and meet in one place. As you can imagine, it is hard to have a relaxing beach vacation if you have nowhere to cool off. As the head of household, I feel responsible for everyone's well being and the management did not work with me to achieve this. In fact, I spent half my vacation trying to get them to fix the AC units. I had to communicate with management multiple times to reach someone helpful. Then after all that, it took them more than 24 hours to get one of the AC units fixed. By the time the AC was up and running again, we had to check out and leave.

Nice home worked well

Very peaceful with a wonderful weeping Willow tree over the canal seating bench. Great for being on canal and launching kayaks, lots of crabs, but trap had holes. No crabs and fish didn't bite.

Great house

Lots of great amenities available! Being avid kayakers, we loved the dock and steps to the water. Easy access to the waters in the sound. No figs being ripe on the tree, but there's always next year!

Perfect for our family

This was a lovely home. The owners have made it very accommodating and thought of everything you might need. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked and the furnishings and decor were nice, NOT old and outdated like many rentals. We were very pleased. Unfortunately and sadly for us, Vacasa bought out Outer Beaches Realty after we contracted this rental, so now the rates for the same week next year are significantly higher and have priced this house out of our budget. We would have been yearly renters otherwise.

This is a great house with all of the amenities anyone would want. Especially if you had to stay home due to the weather. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and game room. We also love the location and enjoyed being able to walk to the Food Lion and our favorite seafood market.
