This home has been in our family since the early 60's. That being said, we rebuilt it since the original was built in the early 1900's. Every single part of the new design was built with vacationing in mind. What was most important was that this Beach house would welcome & accommodate families, friends and celebrations. Since York Beach has been home to our family for over 70 years, generations of us have worked at the Goldenrod downtown, the Sun & Surf, The Nubble Lighthouse restaurant (no longer there), the Grey Gull cottages (turned Condo), Shelton's (no longer there), The Shell Shack (no longer there) and we forever treasure Fun-O-Rama, York Wild Kingdom & the Union Bluff! They are all in walking distance! In the other direction, there is York Village! Lots of very interesting history, tours & more great restaurants to enjoy! Just a bit more of a walking distance from the Beach House... Trust us, there are many more great places to visit! There is the Wiggly bridge, the old Gaol!, and St. Joe's breakfast place &a reason everyone loves this small beach town and we know you will feel the same. We also have a feeling that there are so many of you who will want to stay here because it is a part of your past too! (For sure, let us know!!! We would love to read about your experience!) There will be a guest book for you to sign with comments!
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
It is new, it is always meticulously clean, it is quiet, it is very spacious, it has a green lawn and most importantly; it is only moments to one of the most beautiful beaches in New England. The perfect place to spend with your family. Long Sands is a 1-minute walk and short sands (the downtown area) is a 15-minute walk minute walk down a pathway you have access to (or go along the ocean for a 25-minute walk) and the food/drinks everywhere are phenomenal. We surf, cycle, mountain bike, kayak, and hike. York has some of the best surfing around, cycling is scenic with smooth roads, you can mountain bike locally at "Mt.A" as well as hike OR drive up with your vehicle. With our kids we love to go to York Wild Kingdom, Mt. Agementicus, go to the Nubble Light, spend the day at the Wiggly Bridge, and climb the rocks along the beach! You can also rent floats and umbrellas for the beach. York has some of the best surfing around, cycling is scenic with smooth roads, you can mountain bike locally at "Mt.A" as well as hike OR drive up with your vehicle. If you feel like taking a day to explore the coast, Rt.1A is right there and 15 minutes to Portsmouth and 45 minutes to Portland. We love "The Beach House" and we know you will too.
