Clean, family-friendly house on great property. Loved the pond out back with a great area for kids to play outside. Wonderful location to restaurants and skiing at Cataloochee.
Was not happy that we had to sign another contract with Vasaca when we already had one with you. The location and house was very nice. Only thing wrong need more lighting outside. Master bath shower head could be better.
Great location, no internet whole trip, needed cleaning
Upon arrival at the house, entry was easy. Sit up things and had no internet nor cable, called the 800 number many, many times and they kept saying it had been given to the local manager, whom never called and when we left today, neither was still not working. The entry walkway needed to be swept and front door area, deck had duck poop all over the benches, the second bedroom small patio was very dirty and needed to be swept clean, the screen door is broken and the handle fell over in my hand. The screen door leading from the inside to the deck was also broken so we could not leave the door open and enjoy the fresh air. If Vacasa spent as much time fixing issues and responding to clients as they have asking for a review/survey, they would greatly benefit from their efforts. I was so very disappointed I cannot tell you. I had to work and without the internet, it was not fun I can assure you. I would like to know how you plan to compensate us for this messf????
This home could be a really nice rental; the location was beautiful, and it was just far enough out of town for us - we love the open spaces in the yard. Unfortunately, our stay went downhill pretty quickly.
The private drive & entrance to the home is extremely dark; there are motion lights on the corner of the house that would light your entry easily but not working. I fell on the stone steps because it's so dark even my cell phone had difficulty lighting up the walk. I have other complaints I'll get to, but this safety issue, and Vacasa's subsequent inaction to my requests is really what made our stay here horrible.
We contacted Vacasa via their toll-free number within 24hours of checkin with a list of issues (incl the lighting) with our priority being the fireplace - one of the major reasons we chose to stay here. There were no instructions to get the fireplace working. Additionally, we were tracking in a lot of dirt and dead leaves because the house didn't have a door mat at the back door, bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, and the sink was very slow to drain. Over the first 48 hours, I placed 5 calls to Vacasa's helpline, each one promising a call back, and a house visit "that day." I eventually reached a supervisor (Tiffany) based in Georgia (the rental is in NC) who while extremely nice really couldn't resolve anything other than to pass another message on the the "local" contact and/or GM.
On the 4th day of our stay, I received a call from a local contact who's excuse for not getting back to me sooner was that she didn't have a maintenance worker on Mon or Tues. I understand you can't be 100% staffed 100% of the time, a promised call back, instead of being ignored, would go a long way.
While someone did come out on the 4th day & installed some small solar lamps along the walkway, left a mat at the door, & fixed the slow drain (we had already fixed the door since you can't have a hallway bathroom door open at just any time), we never had a working fireplace (they blamed it on a gas supply issue).
In addition, the washer & dryer both need servicing, the house was extremely dusty/dirty under beds & furniture (we found a dog bone), hall-bath toilet was filthy w/crud, food crumbs were left in cabinets & bread box, coffee pot had old coffee in it, dishes in the cabinets were dirty with food debris, tile floors in both baths had black grout due to dirt, back porch had mildew causing slips when damp, lighting in & outside the house were filled with cobwebs & bugs, and the downstairs porch was filled with trash & broken furn.
Additionally, there has been a leak in the roof that has caused damages to the kitchen; there is a hole in the ceiling, and you can see mold in & around the area where the paint is peeling, as well as around the window that is beneath the damages.
This poor home needs some loving care that it isn't getting from Vacasa. From this experience, we will NEVER stay in a Vacasa owned or managed home again.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
I won't recommend this property until repairs are made!
The fireplace don't work ! The back bedroom sliding glass door is inoperable ! There's a leak in the kitchen over the sink in the ceiling ! The fountain and lights in the pond have never worked in three visits ! The antique bed in the master bedroom's springs squeak every time you move ! This property needs maintenance badly !
The house and property was was excellent condition. We had everything we needed. House was high enough on the mountain but close enough to town. House stocked with all essentials and clean. We like to thank the folks who take care of the house and property in making our experience AWESOME!!!! Wish we could have stayed longer......
We will be back to this house in the future. Checking in and out was a breeze and simple. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place for my wife, mother in law and myself. PERFECT VACATION PLACE!!!!
The cabin/pond was gorgeous - I would give this property an A+. The check in process was a nightmare - after driving 8 hours it took another hour and a half trying to get a hold of someone for the access code. Once we entered the cabin, there was no WIFI password provide - another 2 hours wasted trying to gain this info. As far as peace and quiet - our check out was Wednesday, Tuesday a crew came out and cut the grass for 2 1/2 hours (couldn't it have waited until we checked out on Wednesday?) I would rate VRBO on this rental with a D-
We loved our stay here and it is our 2nd time to stay at this property. We love the spacious landscaping and beautiful yard and creeks. Everything was a great experience for us except for the wooden benches on the deck. There's a lot of nails that need to be hammered in. A couple of us had their pants rip because of them. If there was a small hammer in the tool drawer in the kitchen then we could have fixed them while we were there.
Very enjoyable loved sitting out on the deck early in the morning listening to the small stream flowing and the birds chirping. And then evening time watching the fireflies all over
The Rock House - what a gem!!! We enjoyed our stay so much. The peace snd quiet, the serenity was just what the doctor ordered. The accomodations were comfortable, clean and close enough to downtown Waynesville. Everything we needed was provided for our brief getaway. We are looking forward to a return visit very soon. Thank you!
We had an amazing stay in a gorgeous house, clean, stocked, everything we needed, I can't wait to come stay again on our 14 yr anniversary, thank you so much
