We came for a conference at Lake Junaluska and this perfect. 4 adults and one dog. The property was wonderfully situated to downtown and the lake. Everyone commented on how comfortable and convenient it was. The host was wonderful to work with.
Overall the house was clean, and well organized, the instructions were straightforward and clear. The only downside was there were no horses, which was a big draw for us, but as far as everything else, it was beautiful.
Our weekend stay was wonderful! The house was so clean and charming. The beds were comfy. The house has everything you need! I Loved sitting on the porch looking up at the mountains! If weâre ever in the area again we would love to stay at Doodâs Ranch!
We went and stayed to see family, it was a lovely home with so many accommodations and extraâs. Convenient location and such a great host, he told us the house was ready and we could check in anytime that day. We have agreed we will be staying every visit we make there from now on, very pleased.
The location and layout of the house were perfect for our visit to Waynesville. Easy to get into town. A few minor issues on arrival but a quick response from our host got everything in order. For coffee drinkers be prepared to bring your own.
Stayed as part of a family group here and it was a great stay. Plenty of room and clean. Would definitely stay again if we need a place around the area again.
Doods ranch is a quaint home with all the conveniences for a really nice stay. All the necessary supplies were provided including shampoo & conditioners! The home was very clean & its location to downtown Waynesville was perfect. Would stay again.
I love everything â€ïžđthank you itâs beautiful and comforting, in this cozy home you have everything
Everything itâs beautiful đ and Paced, itâs clean and comfortable, cozy, you have everything of you need â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž beautiful experience with my family â€ïžđ thank 10/10
Visit with our Ashville kids was disrupted by the hurricane. We booked in Waynesville because it had water!! Absolutely love the area! This home was the best equipped vrbo I have experienced! Very comfortable and relaxing stay!
The house itself is very nice and clean, and overall my sisters and I enjoyed our stay. The caveat is, we are all in our 60s with various and sundry physical limitations. It's quite a haul walking up the sidewalk and the steps to the front porch with luggage if you have physical limitations. That being said, the inside staircase really wasn't a problem. The front porch and deck are very nice, but the views aren't quite as bucolic as the pictures would suggest. The owner is very nice and super responsive and the location is very convenient to everything in Waynesville.
Great location, very clean, and great communication with owner. Very convenient to area stores and restaurants. My only recommendation would be the addition of a king size bed in one of the bedrooms.
Overall this is an extra nice older home perfect for a vacation getaway. Very close to everything Waynesville has to offer. I would stay again if in the area for an extended period. Everything was as described except there was no gas grill. The charcoal Smokey Joe Weber worked fine for what we needed, but you might want to check if you will be grilling a major meal.
We loved this house. It was perfect for travelers who want to get to Waynesville, Asheville and the Smoky Mountains. Rooms are large and kitchen well equipped. The steps are a little steep but once you get in everything is just lovely. The owners were very reponsive and friendly. I highly recommend.
I moved back to Waynesville in 2003 after college and a 10 year stint in the corporate world. I enjoy all types of outdoor activities including cycling, running, skiing, surfing and playing guitar.
My Father purchased the property in 1984 to be next door to his sister, and to remain near the property of the original family dairy farm started in the 1920's, McCracken Dairy.
This quaint property is quiet, cozy and has beautiful long range views of 2 mountain ranges, which seem to cradle the historic town of Waynesville. The town has much to offer in the way of boutiques, galleries, museums, restaurants, craft breweries and coffee shops.
