Beachfront Condo with Great Ocean, Mountain and Pool Views Steps from the Sand

Listen to the ocean at night just steps from the sand on beautiful Sugar Beach. Watch the Maui sunset from your private lanai or from the lounge chairs on the lawn area. Hop in the heated pool or go for a swim in the ocean. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your Maui vacation. Located on the 4th floor with elevator. Beautiful romantic beach setting on quiet white sandy oceanfront. One bedroom, two bathroom condo can comfortably sleep four guests. The living room has a comfortable queen sofa bed with memory foam mattress, 40" HD Smart TV, Bluetooth sound bar to play music from your devices, and A/C*. The bedroom is furnished with comfortable Cal-King bed and Smart TV. All tile floors and granite counter kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, microwave, and stove. The fully equipped kitchen has all that you will require to cook full meals. The condo is located toward the front of the building which is the perfect location for taking in the gorgeous views of the ocean, the Haleakala volcano, the islands of Kaho’olawe and Molokini, and the West Maui mountains. The condo comes with beach chairs, beach towels, snorkels, and other beach equipment. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are provided on the communal lawn area as well as three gas barbecues and dining tables. This is where you can watch the Maui sunsets or enjoy a dip in the beautiful large heated swimming pool exclusively for use by condo complex guests. Just up the beach is the Maui Canoe Club, where you can watch avid outrigger canoe paddlers launch off and even go for a guest paddle. You can witness a true Hawaiian art and tradition from the beach or lanai! Sugar Beach is 6 miles of pristine sand and warm water so you really won't want to leave. But, if you do, we are close driving distance to more beaches, scenic areas, shopping, and great food. Five minute walk to a great bakery, ABC store, a small farmer's market and a famous shave ice shop. Three minute walk in the other direction to a local pub where you can have a delicious Mai Tai or Pina Colada and grab a great deli sandwich for lunch or dinner. Bus stop is three minutes away, 15 min drive to Wailea and 15 min to Kahului (airport, Costco, Whole Foods, Target and Walmart). Free parking. Nani Kai Hale #407 is simply perfect!

*The cross breeze caused by the almost constant tradewinds keep the condo nice and cool without needing to turn on the A/C which is in the living room only. The bedroom is cooled by ceiling fan, floor fan, and large window near the bed. There are two additional standing fans available in the closet.

Delightful place to stay on Maui

We recently stayed for several weeks at this condo on Maui. We had no problems with gaining access to the unit, and the on-site manager was friendly and very cooperative. The other condo owners/tenants were very friendly and the location was ideal for travel from the airport or to other activities on the island. We enjoyed the easy access to the beach and saw whales breaching on Maalaea Bay. We really enjoyed our stay.

Another great stay on Sugar Beach

We’ve stayed in this unit multiples times and are happy to recommend it. We were there for 15 nights and there were no complaints. The unit is well furnished and the kitchen has everything you need including sharp knives and multiple storage containers. The AC works well and the provided fans keep the air circulating.

Love this building

Can't beach a place to stay in Kihei that is right on the beach. The whole building is older but we love it here and have been staying in this condo for the past 12 years. With kids, being right on the beach makes the trip so much more restful. Don't skip on the Sugar beach bake shop down the road, it is incredible.

We had another wonderful visit!

This was the second time we've stayed at #407 Nani Kai Hale. The owners had made significant improvements over our last visit, and we enjoyed the upgrades. We particularly enjoyed the friendliness of the other owners and guests staying at Nani Kai Hale. Everyone seemed to gather on the beachside patio each evening for cocktails and viewing the beautiful Maui sunset. An experience to treasure!

Beach paradise

We loved staying here with our two teenagers. The location is perfect - right on the beach. This particular beach is also pretty quiet and not crowded compared to other Kihei beaches. I think the only downside to the condo was the hot water. It got warm, but not as hot as we are used to at home. Maybe cooler showers are the norm in a warmer climate?

Maui Mud

We arrived just after the flash flood. Two main roads to the property were closed. Agent was able to direct us to another route. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the area. Condo was amazingly well supplied fir beach fun.

You're on Maui - what could be bad!

It started out poorly: 1) Property sold 1 week before our stay. VRBO BAD policy of requiring the previous owner to cancel listing and then having to make reservation again was a headache. New owner was very helpful and did a lot of communication. 2) Maui managers created COVID problems to check in to property, requiring us to stay at hotel the first night and then they gave us the wrong door code! They solved other problems that came up. 3) On site manager Stephen was very helpful during stay. Condo property very nice and friendly. 4) Wish apartment had family feel rather than just rental condo. 5) Had a GREAT TIME!

Not Happy with Our Stay

When stating unit has A/C they need to clarify that it's only in the living area and it's o. A 6 hour timer. We were never left a welcome packet with a parking pass so we were worried about having a car when we woke up every morning. The property management company never returned our phone calls, we had to purchase an iron even though we specifically reached out to the owners and they said they had a working iron on site. They had one but it did not work. The kitchen utensils were very unorganized couldn't find anything. For what we spent I'm not happy with the outcome.

Whoa. I’m not sure how to respond to your excessively negative review except to say that it’s unfortunate that your experience wasn’t what you had hoped. But respond I will because your experience certainly isn’t consistent with our previous guests’ experiences and reviews. I have refunded you for the cost of a new iron which you say you purchased (and upon inspection, there was no new iron there so I guess you packed it up and took it home). The iron which was in the condo was working when I used it in June. Sometimes things break in vacation rentals and the only way the owner knows is when the guest lets them know. I wish you had contacted me directly with any questions or concerns as I offered to you several times during the booking process. I could have also told you where to find the parking passes in the unit which are right by the TV in a 3-ring binder. The property management company has a record of having spoken with one of you on the phone 10 minutes after you left them a voicemail and dispatching a maintenance person to look at the A/C (which was working fine) and to fix a leak that you reported. And, while the listing did not say that there is A/C in the bedroom, I have amended it to remove any doubt. Having A/C on a timer is very common in vacation rentals – you just need to turn it on again when it goes off. And I don’t really know what to say about your complaint that kitchen utensils were disorganized except to say that I am a cook and have stocked the kitchen with everything a cook would need. Looks like you’re new to VRBO but the key to a positive experience with marketplaces like this is good communication between the owners and guests both before and during the visit. I am always available by phone and email to our guests and would have been happy to help if you had just reached out.

Great place to stay not part of resort row!

We were very pleased with this unit. The views were excellent you can actually see the ocean from the balcony & bedroom window and you can hear the ocean. Air conditioning only in living room area was just fine we only turned it on a few times. The ceiling fan in the bedroom & keeping the bedroom window open at night kept us plenty cooled at night. The beach access, grassy area & pool area were very well maintained. It was never crowded & we never felt like we had to fight for a spot! Quiet & not all full of tourists. Ive stayed in the fanciest places in Maui amidst all the shops & tourists traps. Although this was not nearly as fancy or as expensive, I enjoyed it way more. So laid back & easy & didn't feel like a show of who has the most money to spend!! The condo is simple & clean, bed was comfortable, all the amenities. We like that the stairs to the beach & pool were close to our unit to quickly get down. The elevator was slow going down for some reason but going up it worked. This building is at the end of a short road so you are off the beaten path & the parking was safe & plentiful. Its a great location to travel to other areas of the island. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend

Love Nani Kai Hale

We’ve stayed at NKH many times over the years. Unit 407 has changed ownership this past year and the transition has been smooth. Unit is well cared for and there were no issues during our 2 1/2 week stay. The host was very good (wish more were as attentive as them). Great location, nicely appointed and lots of towels.

Great location but needs improvement

We had mixed feelings about our stay. The location was great, especially if you want to do road to Hana and explore the west coast. It is 15 minutes drive to Costco and close to Ocean Center. However, cleanliness needs some improvement: the bathtub had a large black stain, and pillow cases and drapes had stains too. When we asked for more soap and shampoo, which were supposed to be provided and we only got 2 small travel-size bottles and 3 small soaps, we were told that we could not get more. With 3 of us staying for 8 nights it was not enough, and I would have brought them from home if I knew we would not be provided an adequate supply. On the other hand, we were provided with all necessary kitchen stuff, beach towels and beach chairs, which was nice. And the property had a nice private beach area and a swimming pool that we used when it was too windy to swim in the ocean.

Our guests either bring more from home or, if they don't have a car to drive to the store, they can walk to the ABC Store two minutes away to replenish what is needed. Nice Place

We enjoyed our stay here!. We were welcomed with a gift bag with some goodies and fresh flowers. The place is well stocked. We used the beach chairs provided. They just had a new air conditioner unit installed, super quiet and works great! There is a knob that you will need to turn for the time you want the air conditioner to run. The air conditioner is in the living area only, although I sleep hot I was able to sleep comfortable. There is a breeze coming in, a ceiling fan and a portable standing fan. We did lots of sight seeing so all we need a place to come to to relax, eat and sleep. The sleeper sofa looks newer. The rest of the place needs updating as it looks a bit "tired". A few new fluffier pillows woud be nice. We did enjoy sitting on the balcony having a drink dan breakfast, enjoying the ocean view. There is an event place next door, which was entertaining to listen to the music and people getting married. The music is inside the venue and it's quiet at 10pm. It didn't' bother us. You will enjoy staying here as it a great location as well.

Lovely stay right on the beach

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. Highlights were direct access to the beach with bbqs and lounge chairs available, the ocean view from the lanai, and the size and cleanliness of the condo. The neighbourhood is perfect if you're looking to relax and ideally if you have a car (no restaurants or shops nearby) though ubers are plentiful. Would return!
