The LAKEHAUS is an exceptional home located on Long Lake just outside Traverse City with 128' feet of waterfront to spend your lake vacation. Long Lake, an all sports lake is one of the most popular lakes in the area just a few miles from Traverse City. Long Lake is quite large and allows all types of watercraft. There are 5 islands throughout the lake to visit and explore and there is fantastic fishing on Long lake. Long Lake is in high demand because it is the largest inland lake nearest to Traverse City. Downtown Traverse City is about 10 miles away. We include use of 2 Kayaks and 2 SUP's for your use with signed waiver prior to your visit.
The LAKEHAUS has a large expansive deck literally hanging out over the water with lots of seating and lounge chairs to relax on, a gas grill, gas firepit table and a private dock for your water toys, including a volleyball net right in the water! This home features a large natural fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs that overlooks Long Lake for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of your day.
Interior of the home:
Indoors you find an expansive wall of windows view of Long Lake. Vaulted ceilings above and hardwood floors beneath are filled with natural light and stunning views. The living area has plenty of seating for your family, with views of the lake, a natural stone gas insert fireplace and a flat screen TV for entertainment on a rainy day (heaven forbid). The living area opens into the dining area that houses a table and chairs for 8 guests with additional seating at the kitchen island on the stools. The large kitchen is stocked with all of your cooking needs for serving your family a fine meal and plenty of storage for your food items. FYI: WE ARE CURRENTLY COMPLETING A FULL RENOVATION OF THE KITCHEN INCLUDING LAYOUT, NEW APPLIANCES, ETC. SHOULD BE FULLY COMPLETE BY MAY 2026. VRBO PICTURES WILL BE UPDATED AT THAT TIME. CURRENT PICTURES ARE FOR THE KITCHEN FROM 2025. The main floor also has a full bath to use, as well as a full size washer and dryer. All of your linens (except beach towels) are included for your convenience.
The upper bedroom level is open and boasts more spectacular views of Long Lake from the Master bedroom. A fabulous way to wake up in the morning! Featuring a King size bed and a private Newly Renovated (2023) En Suite Master Bathroom with dual sinks, frames glass shower with rain head. The 2nd bedroom includes 2 queen size beds and also has a private En Suite Bathroom.
The 3rd Bedroom is located in the basement and was newly added as a legal bedroom. This large bedroom has a queen bed, large streaming Sony TV and large closet. The Powder Room that has a full shower on the main floor is the bathroom that is used by guests in the basement bedroom.
Exterior:
128' of Private lake frontage in a pristine wooded setting. Enjoy the quiet of your surroundings! Ahhhhh!!!! Listen to the loons in the morning on the deck with your coffee, or sit by the waters edge and toss in a fishing line to catch some great local fish.
The yard has a nice open area great for playing games (provided) such as the popular corn hole, ladder ball and badminton. The fire pit is perfect for making s'mores and sharing together time. The deck features a large dining table/chairs as well as a gas grill for outdoor dining and lounge chairs are available for napping or sunning yourself.
Other Things to Note:
The area hosts many activities; including the National Cherry Festival and other local festivals, Michael Moore`s Film Festival, arts and craft shows, concerts in the park, casino`s, wineries, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes (a must), performances at the widely acclaimed Interlochen Center for the Arts and the downtown Opera House; you`re certain to stay busy.
Set on idyllic Long Lake - an all sports lake just minutes from downtown Traverse City with Crystal Mountain Ski Resort a short drive, this retreat promises a memorable stay Up North!

Fishing? Look no further as Long Lake has some of the best fishing in the area. .The dining is also fabulous, and we have amazing local chefs that prepare meals that you`ll want to tell your friends and family about (as you`re looking out at the reflection of the water, or dining by sunset).
Our home rents generally on a minimum weekly basis from SATURDAY - SATURDAY during prime summer weeks unless the calendar allows for an alternate reservation schedule. All reservations must be approved and we require a signed separate Rental Agreement provided following booking.
*NOTE: We require our signed Rental Agreement and Reservation Approval prior to Final Reservation Confirmation.

The house was excellent . Well equipped and had everything one could need. Comfortable beds. Great location . Nice outdoor area . Kayaks and paddle boards were a great addition . We’ll try and stay here again next year.

As you know, our home is 11 miles from downtown Traverse City’s main drag (Front Street). Takes us about 15 min to get there. We find the peaceful quiet of our home on Long Lake worth the short ride to downtown:-)

Lovely Long Lake home
Beautiful property on the west side of Long Lake. The house is very comfortable with great views. It is about a 25 minute drive from downtown Traverse City.

Great visit
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lakehaus. The owner was very communicative. The property was clean. You can tell the owner has stepped into the shoes of a renter and tried to provide the items a renter would want. We would definitely look into this property again if we stayed in the area.

Super comfortable and relaxing stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Lakehaus. The house is beautiful and the views of the lake from inside the house are beautiful. We really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. We made good use of the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. The owner was very nice and communicated well with us leading up to our stay and continuing throughout our stay. We were 100% satisfied with our lake house vacation in the Lakehaus.
